Barriera (elbow) was activated off the 7-day injured list Friday with Single-A Dunedin, Sam Dykstra of MiLB.com reports.

One of the most exciting pitching prospects in the lower levels of the minors, Barriera has struck out 20 batters over 15.1 innings this season. The Jays have been very cautious with him as he dealt with a shoulder injury to start the year before getting shut down due to an elbow issue.

Fujinami was activated by the Orioles on Friday.

Fujinami will officially join Baltimore's bullpen after being acquired via trade from the Athletics on Wednesday. The right-hander has produced an impressive 1.64 ERA and 0.64 WHIP with 12 strikeouts over 11 innings in his last nine appearances dating back to June 28.

Gillaspie was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.

Gillaspie will return to Norfolk after being called up Wednesday, failing to appear in a game while with Baltimore. The move will open a major-league roster spot for recently acquired right-hander Shintaro Fujinami, who was activated by the Orioles on Friday.

Thornton was designated for assignment Friday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the newly acquired Genesis Cabrera. Thornton has pitched well during his brief time in the majors this season but has spent the bulk of the year at Triple-A Buffalo, where he's posted a 4.18 ERA in 22 relief appearances.

The Blue Jays acquired Cabrera from the Cardinals in exchange for Sammy Hernandez on Friday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Cabrera had been designated for assignment after posting a disappointing 5.06 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 38:18 K:BB over 32 innings out of the St. Louis bullpen this season. The left-hander has a big arm and has posted better results in the past, so perhaps Toronto will be able to get more out of him. He'll report to Triple-A Buffalo.

Tarnok worked three relief innings in Thursday's loss to the Astros, allowing an earned run on a solo home run and issuing two walks. He struck out one and also uncorked a wild pitch.

Tarnok's one key mistake was the solo home run he allowed to Alex Bregman in the ninth inning. Otherwise, the right-hander navigated some control issues and finished with 51 pitches over his trio of frames. Tarnok appears ticketed for at least a handful more multi-inning relief outings before potentially getting a shot in the rotation later this summer.

Jimenez (shoulder) allowed an earned run on two hits and a walk over one inning during Triple-A Las Vegas' win over Salt Lake on Thursday in the second game of a doubleheader.

Jimenez got the start and fired 11 of his 16 pitches for strikes in his first game action since April 16. Assuming he has no issues with his shoulder afterward, he could make another appearance for the Aviators before the weekend is out, although the A's have no real incentive to accelerate his recovery and get him back into the big-league bullpen quickly.

Voth (elbow) began a rehab assignment with the Orioles' Florida Coast League affiliate Thursday.

Voth tossed a perfect inning in his first appearance with the FCL Orioles. It's not clear how many more rehab games he might require before rejoining the O's bullpen. Voth has been out since mid-June with right elbow discomfort.

Harris (2-4) took the loss against Houston on Thursday, allowing two runs on four hits and no walks while striking out six batters over six innings.

Though he was tagged with the loss, this was one of Harris' better outings on the season, as he recorded his third quality start and tied his second-best tally with six punchouts. The southpaw had been in a funk over his previous four contests coming into Thursday, posting a 9.64 ERA and 2.20 WHIP across 18.2 frames. Harris has flashed some promise at times during his rookie campaign, but his overall 6.11 ERA and lack of consistency are evidence that he's not yet a reliable arm for fantasy purposes.

Pressly earned a save against the Athletics on Thursday, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.

Pressly had struggled in his previous two outings coming into Thursday, allowing four runs (three earned) and six hits over two frames. He got back on track against Oakland, needing just 11 pitches to retire the side in order and collect his 22nd save. Pressly isn't immune to an occasional rough appearance, but he's been steady overall this season, posting a 2.91 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 48:8 K:BB over 43.1 innings as the Astros' unquestioned closer.
