The Rangers are expected to activate Otto (illness) from the COVID-19-related injured list and have him serve as a bulk-inning pitcher in Sunday's game against the Nationals, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Kennedi Landry of MLB.com notes that the Rangers intend to have Brett Martin serve as an opening pitcher Sunday, so Otto will be making his first appearance out of the bullpen after previously making eight starts prior to landing on the IL. The Rangers should make Otto's activation official shortly before the game's 2:35 p.m. ET opening pitch.

Alexander (1-3) tossed two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win Saturday against the Diamondbacks. He allowed a hit and a walk while striking out one.

Following four innings from starter Alex Faedo, Alexander navigated the fifth and sixth. The lefty pitched well, and he's starting to look better after a rough start to the season. Alexander had an 8.76 ERA across 12.1 innings before landing on the injured list in early May with a left elbow sprain. Since returning June 13, he has a 1.13 ERA and 0.88 WHIP over eight innings of work. Alexander was a valuable pitcher for the Tigers in 2021, registering a 3.81 ERA across 41 appearances (15 starts), and he may be returning to that form in 2022.

Barlow (3-1) pitched a perfect ninth inning with one strikeout to put himself in line for the win in a 3-2 walkoff victory over the Nationals on Saturday.

Barlow was called in to pitch the ninth with the game tied 2-2. He did his job and let the offense take care of the rest, earning his third win of the season to go along with 13 saves. The Rangers closer has a healthy 2.84 ERA and 0.95 WHIP on the season and doesn't appear to have any competition for the ninth-inning role. However, Barlow's 5.10 xERA and 4.50 xFIP suggest that his numbers could be on the brink of correcting higher.

Trivino picked up the save Saturday against the Royals. He allowed no runs on two hits while striking out three and walking one over two innings.

Trivino earned a two-inning save Saturday, throwing 20 of 32 pitches for strikes. It was his third save of the season and his first since April 16. After entering this season as the primary closer for Oakland, Trivino has struggled to the tune of a 7.52 ERA, although the righty has lowered his ERA in each of his last three appearances. He looks like he'll re-emerge as a factor in the late innings after Oakland recently moved closer Dany Jimenez (shoulder) to the 15-day injured list.

Jackson (2-2) earned the win Saturday against the Royals. He allowed no runs on no hits while striking out one and walking none over one inning.

Jackson took home the win after a three-up, three-down sixth inning during which he sent down Kansas City's 3-4-5 hitters. He needed only 11 pitches to end the inning. The righty reliever was credited with his second win of the season after being given the loss in his last appearance. Jackson continues to be a reliable arm in the bullpen, though he has only one save on the season.

Neris walked two but turned in a scoreless eighth inning to record a hold Saturday against the Yankees.

Neris immediately followed Cristian Javier into the game and did his part to maintain the team's no-hitter. Neris was a bit wild in the process, walking two of the first three batters he faced. However, he was ultimately able to get out of the jam to record his 16th hold of the season while also maintaining a 3.73 ERA and 33:8 K:BB across 31.1 frames.

Winckowski (3-1) earned the win over Cleveland on Saturday, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out four over 5.1 innings.

Winckowski got into trouble and allowed a pair of runs in the third inning, but he otherwise kept Cleveland off the scoreboard. The right-hander wasn't overpowering in the victory -- he induced only five swinging strikes and punched out four batters -- but he allowed just one extra-base hit and threw 52 of 77 pitches for strikes. Winckowski has earned a win in each of his past three starts, allowing only four runs over 17 innings during that stretch. Given his success so far, Boston could be compelled to keep Winckowski in the rotation while waiting for Chris Sale (ribs) and Nathan Eovaldi (back) to return.

Swanson walked two (one intentionally) in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Angels.

Paul Sewald had pitched each of the last two days, but the save chance interestingly went to Swanson instead of Diego Castillo, who fired a perfect eighth inning for a hold. Swanson had to navigate the top of the Angels' order, but he was able to sandwich an intentional walk of Mike Trout with lineouts from Taylor Ward and Shohei Ohtani to preserve the lead. In his last six outings, Swanson has allowed just two hits and two walks over 5.1 scoreless innings. He's proven worthy of trust from manager Scott Servais by posting a 0.93 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 27:3 K:BB in 19.1 innings this year, and his usage Saturday may signal his entrance into more high-leverage spots. He'd previously recorded four holds in his first 18 outings.

Soto struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Soto successfully protected a three-run lead for his third straight scoreless outing and his first save since a blown save June 16 versus the Rangers. The southpaw is 14-for-16 in save chances with a 2.67 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 28:12 K:BB in 27 innings overall, and he's added one hold and a 2-4 record.

Pressly tossed a perfect ninth inning while striking out two batters on his way to a save in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Yankees.

Pressly was called upon to finish a combined no-hitter and protect a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the ninth, successfully finishing the no-hitter while securing the save. He struck out two batters and rebounded well from the four-run blowup he had Thursday. The save was his 15th of the year and he now owns a 4.05 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with 17 strikeouts over 20 innings in 22 appearances.
