Castro (2-0) was credited with the win Thursday against Baltimore, pitching one-third of an inning during which he allowed one hit and one walk while striking out one.

Castro didn't pitch particularly well, as he gave up a double and a walk upon entering in the fifth inning before getting a strikeout to escape a bases-loaded jam. The reliever benefitted from fortunate circumstances, however, as the Yankees scored four runs in the bottom of the frame to put him in position for a win. Castro has two victories and three holds this season while posting a 2.45 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 6:6 K:BB across 7.1 innings.

Pressly threw off flat ground Friday while wearing a protective sleeve on his injured right knee, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Pressly has seemed to be close to a return to action for the last several days, but the Astros have yet to announce when he'll be activated from the injured list. He continues to be able to throw, but the fact that he's wearing a protective sleeve backs up the idea that he's still not 100 percent.

Staumont allowed a run on two hits in one inning, taking a blown save Thursday versus the White Sox.

Staumont allowed a pair of singles to open the eighth inning, then yielded a run on a sacrifice fly before escaping trouble. It counts as his second blown save in 10 appearances, though he's also secured two saves and a hold. The right-hander has a 4.00 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 12:4 K:BB across nine innings while sharing closing duties with Scott Barlow.

Clarke pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts to earn the save in Thursday's extra-inning win over the White Sox.

Clarke had a three-run lead to protect in the 10th inning, and he had no trouble converting his second major-league save. The 28-year-old was utilized for the save chance because Josh Staumont and Scott Barlow had pitched in the previous two innings. Clarke has done well to begin the season with a 1.13 ERA, 0.62 WHIP and 8:0 K:BB in eight innings. He should continue to be deployed in a versatile role in the bullpen as long as his results stay strong.

Koch was designated for assignment by the Mariners on Friday.

Koch had been with the team for just over two weeks, allowing four runs in 4.1 innings of relief. He'll be removed from the 40-man roster to clear space for Mitch Haniger, who returned from the COVID-19 injured list in a corresponding move.

Feyereisen (1-0) did not allow a baserunner while striking out two across two scoreless innings to earn the win Thursday against the Mariners.

Feyereisen was the third pitcher used in a bullpen game for the Rays, and he managed to stay out of trouble primarily through inducing groundball outs. He has opened the season with 9.1 scoreless innings while maintaining a 11:0 K:BB. Feyereisen has been utilized in a number of roles, including opener and high-leverage reliever, and he has recorded two holds and a win.

Romano recorded the save Thursday, allowing one hit while striking out one over a scoreless inning in a 1-0 win over the Red Sox.

Thursday's performance was a nice bounceback for Romano, who recorded his first blown save of the season earlier in the week. Currently his nine saves have him ranked second in the league, trailing only Milwaukee closer Josh Hader's 10.

Bummer (0-1) recorded the loss Thursday, allowing three runs on a hit and two walks with two strikeouts over 1.2 innings in a 5-2 extra-inning loss to the Royals.

The southpaw is part of the high-leverage mix for the White Sox, and with Liam Hendriks (back) unavailable, Bummer got the call in a tie game in the top of the 10th. He couldn't get the job done, however, and while he has a save and four holds on the season, he's also been charged with a blown save and a loss in his last two appearances. Should Hendriks miss significant time, Bummer could find himself in the mix for saves, but Kendall Graveman would likely be the next man up for Chicago.

Barlow (2-0) earned the win Thursday, pitching a scoreless inning during which he allowed one walk and recorded one strikeout against the White Sox.

Barlow snagged the win after the Royals' offensive explosion in extra innings. The lack of offense up to that point neutralized what was otherwise a standout performance from Brad Keller, who allowed only three hits in seven innings. Barlow is still seemingly the Royals' first choice for saves despite a challenge from Josh Staumont, who has recorded two saves this season.

Zimmermann (1-1) allowed four runs (zero earned) on five hits and one walk while striking out five across 4.1 innings to take the loss Thursday against the Yankees.

Zimmermann held the Yankees scoreless through four innings, and he allowed only two hits and a walk in that span. However, things unraveled in the fifth frame, as he allowed three hits to the first six batters he faced -- though the Baltimore defense also committed two errors behind him. Zimmermann has gotten off to a hot start this season, as he has now allowed zero earned runs in three of his first four outings. Overall, he has maintained a 0.93 ERA and 21:6 K:BB across 19.1 frames.
