Slaten (shoulder) hasn't started playing catch yet, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reported Friday
Slaten has been shut down from throwing for nearly two weeks, having not played catch since hitting the injured list June 1 with right shoulder inflammation. It's unclear when he'll get the green light to throw, but he may not be ready to go until July.

White Sox's Tyler Gilbert: Reinstated from IL
The White Sox reinstated Gilbert (knee) from the 15-day injured list Friday.
Gilbert made five minor-league appearances during his rehab assignment, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out seven across 5.2 innings. He will return to the majors after spending the last month on the 15-day injured list due to a right MCL injury in his left knee. Gilbert posted a 4.85 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 16:7 K:BB across 13 innings prior to his stint on the IL.

Red Sox's Liam Hendriks: Resumes throwing program
Hendriks (hip) has begun playing catch, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
Hendriks has been shut down from baseball activities since being placed on the injured list May 30 with inflammation in his right hip. However, he's started throwing, which is a significant step in his recovery. Still, he remains a ways away from returning.

Twins' Michael Tonkin: Activated and sent to Triple-A
Tonkin (biceps) has been activated from the 60-day injured list and has accepted an assignment to Triple-A St. Paul, Phil Miller of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
Tonkin began the season on the shelf due to a strained right shoulder before experiencing biceps tendinitis during a rehab assignment. While he's finally healthy, Tonkin will continue at the Triple-A level.

Rangers' Shawn Armstrong: Kicking off bullpen game
Armstrong will start Friday's game against the White Sox, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Armstrong will make his first start of 2025, though he's expected to throw just one or two innings before handing the ball off to another reliever as part of the Rangers' bullpen game. Armstrong hasn't pitched more than two innings in an appearance this season. He has a 3.33 ERA and a 29:13 K:BB over 27 innings on the campaign.

Angels' Sam Bachman: Officially recalled
The Angels recalled Bachman from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.
As expected, Bachman will join the 26-man roster in place of Shaun Anderson, who was designated for assignment. Bachman hasn't appeared in an MLB game since 2023, and he's logged a 0.79 ERA with an 11:9 K:BB across 11.1 innings this season with Salt Lake City.

Angels' Shaun Anderson: Departing big-league roster
Anderson is expected to be removed from the active roster Friday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
He'll yield his spot on the 26-man roster to Sam Bachman. In six appearances with the Halos, Anderson logged a 7.59 ERA with a 10:3 K:BB over 10.2 innings.

Angels' Sam Bachman: Call-up expected Friday
The Angels are expected to call up Bachman ahead of Friday's game at Baltimore, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Bachman started the season on the injured list due to thoracic outlet syndrome and was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake City once he was activated in mid-May. He has dominated at Triple-A, allowing one earned run in 11.1 innings with 11 strikeouts, although he's also issued nine walks. He's expected to take Shaun Anderson's spot in the Angels' bullpen.

Orioles' Levi Wells: On IL with shoulder inflammation
Wells was placed on the Double-A Chesapeake 7-day injured list Friday due to right shoulder inflammation, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Wells had a brief bout of abdominal discomfort in May, but he'll hit the injured list Friday for the first time in 2025. The 23-year-old has posted a 3.29 ERA and a 36:12 K:BB over 38.1 innings with Chesapeake this season.
