Lopez could return from the alternate site to start this weekend, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

The White Sox are skipping Dallas Keuchel (back) this turn through the rotation and will need a fill-in starter for this weekend's series against the Tigers. Chicago manager Rick Renteria said Lopez is an option, indicating the "reports have been good." Lopez was sent to the alternate camp following his most recent start, Sept. 2, when he lasted just 1.2 innings. The right-hander's mission at the alternate camp is to work on rhythm and timing.

Pressly (1-2) allowed a run on a hit and a walk over two-thirds of an inning, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Athletics. He also hit a batter.

Pressly entered the game with the score tied at two. His two outs came in the form of fielder's choices, but a walkoff single from Ramon Laureano left the Astros' closer with a loss. The 31-year-old Pressly has a 4.11 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and eight saves in 17 appearances spanning 15.1 innings this season.

Hendriks (3-0) pitched a perfect ninth inning with two strikeouts and earned the win Wednesday versus the Astros.

Hendriks entered with the game tied at two, and he did his part to keep it that way. The Athletics then rallied for the winning run in the bottom of the ninth to make him a winner. The 31-year-old has a 1.40 ERA, 0.72 WHIP, 29:3 K:BB and 11 saves in 12 chances this season as one of the more stable closers in baseball.

Garica tossed seven innings of five-hit, two-run ball during Wednesday's 7-2 win over the Blue Jays. He struck out six.

Commonly regarded as a top-five prospect of the Yankees, Garcia looked the part in his third career start, retiring 15 of the final 16 batters he faced. Garcia generates strong movement with his fastball and curveball and has the pedigree of a long-term asset to New York and fantasy managers alike. He is lined up to face Toronto again next week.

Armstrign (back) began a throwing program at the alternate training site Wednesday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The 30-year-old is already eligible to return from the 10-day injured list, but he's unlikely to be activated for another week or two while he rebuilds his arm strength. Armstrong went down with back soreness in late August, but manager Brandon Hyde expected him to rejoin the team by the end of the regular season.

Yacabonis had his contract selected by the Mariners on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old was acquired by the Mariners from the Padres in mid-August and has yet to play in the majors this season. Yacabonis had a 6.80 ERA, 1.83 WHIP and 33:24 K:BB over 41 innings with the Orioles in 2019.

Reyes is traveling as part of the Angels' taxi squad on their current road trip, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Reyes was acquired from San Diego in exchange for Jason Castro at the trade deadline. The right-handed reliever has not appeared in the majors this season, but he made 27 appearances with the Padres in 2019, logging a 7.62 ERA and 1.35 WHIP along with a 38:11 K:BB. As part of the taxi squad, he'll be eligible to play only if he is first added to the 28-man roster.

Pearson (elbow) continues progressing and could have a shot to return as a reliever down the stretch, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

Pearson made just four starts before suffering a flexor strain in mid-August. He doesn't have time to build up to a starter's workload before the end of the year, but the Blue Jays are keeping the door open for him as a reliever. It's not guaranteed he'll have time to do so, as the Blue Jays won't want to push things with their prized prospect, but he continues to throw and remains in contention to return at some point.

Diekman secured his ninth hold during a win over the Astros in the first game of a doubleheader Tuesday, firing a scoreless sixth inning during which he allowed no hits or walks and recorded one strikeout.

The veteran left-hander continued his season-long dominance, posting his 15th scoreless effort in as many appearances. Diekman has yielded a scant six hits over his 15 innings as well while posting an elite 12.6 K/9. The one qualm with his 2020 body of work has been his trademark control issues, which have led to a bloated 6.0 BB/9 that he's nevertheless successfully navigated to this point.

The Tigers selected Ramirez's contract from their alternate training site Wednesday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Ramirez made his big-league debut for the Tigers last season and went on to post a 4.07 ERA in 79.2 innings of relief. He'd spent the entirety of the season up to this point working out at the team's alternate training site. He'll likely fill a lower-leverage relief role upon his arrival.
