Reyes was traded from the Padres to the Angels on Sunday in exchange for catcher Jason Castro, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Reyes narrowly missed out on a spot on the Padres' Opening Day roster this season. The right-hander had some struggles in his first taste of major-league action last year as he posted a 7.62 ERA and 38:11 K:BB over 26 innings across 27 appearances with the Padres. It's unclear whether the Angels plan to use Reyes in their major-league bullpen during the 2020 season.

Abreu was recalled from the alternate training site after Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Mets, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Abreu was optioned to the alternate site earlier in the week but will rejoin the Yankees for Sunday's nightcap. The 24-year-old has made one appearance in the majors and allowed two runs on three hits with two strikeouts and two walks over 1.1 innings.

Mata suffered an apparent left hamstring injury Sunday while pitching in a simulated game at the Red Sox's alternate training site in Pawtucket, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

The 21-year-old isn't a likely candidate to make his big-league debut in 2020, but he's been making regular simulated-game appearances in Pawtucket as the Red Sox look to keep his development on track. He'll presumably be sent in for more tests as the Red Sox determine the extent of his injury, but Mata looks like he could be at risk of being shut down for the rest of the summer.

Soto allowed a hit but pitched a scoreless ninth inning to record the save in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Twins.

Soto now has saves in consecutive games for the Tigers, and he could lock down the closer's role more permanently with continued strong play. Joe Jimenez, who was recently removed as the closer, pitched in the seventh inning Sunday and has an 11.70 ERA this season. Buck Farmer pitched in the eighth and is another option for saves, as is Jose Cisnero, but Soto appears to be the primary candidate at the moment.

The Orioles recalled Akin from their alternate training site Sunday.

Though Akin was optioned to the alternate site Thursday, he'll be eligible to rejoin the big club before the minimum 10 days after Mychal Givens was traded to Colorado on Sunday. While Akin made his first two big-league appearances out of the bullpen, he'll likely be in line for a rotation assignment during his upcoming stint with Baltimore. After dealing away Tommy Milone to the Braves in a separate deal Sunday, Baltimore has an opening for a new starter in Monday's series finale with the Blue Jays in Buffalo, and Akin is expected to receive the nod, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.

The Orioles reinstated Harvey (elbow) from the 10-day injured list ahead of Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

He'll join the active roster as a replacement in the bullpen for Mychal Givens, who was dealt to the Rockies on Sunday. Harvey was a candidate to begin the season as the Orioles' closer, but the sore right elbow he suffered late in summer camp resulted in him landing on the IL. Cole Sulser has ran into some hiccups of late as the Orioles' primary closing option, so it wouldn't be surprising if Harvey quickly entered the ninth-inning conversation after a couple quality relief outings.

Garcia is slated to start the second game of Sunday's doubleheader with the Mets, Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports.

New York formally called Garcia up from its alternate site earlier in the day and designated him as the 29th man for the twin bill, but it wasn't immediately clear whether he would make his MLB debut in the first or second game. With the Yankees having since revealed that Michael King will start Game 1, Garcia will toe the rubber in the nightcap. The 21-year-old right-hander split the 2019 campaign between High-A Tampa, Double-A Trenton and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, logging a 4.28 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 165:54 K:BB in 111.1 innings.

The Royals recalled Hernandez from their alternate training site ahead of Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Kansas City has been developing the right-hander as a starter, but his big-league debut will likely come out of the bullpen considering he hasn't pitched above the Low-A level during his minor-league career. Despite his lack of high-level experience, the 23-year-old's big fastball could allow him to find some initial success in the majors as a multi-inning weapon out of the bullpen.

Pivetta is being stretched out at the team's alternate training camp site, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Pivetta hasn't pitched as a starter for a while, so the Red Sox will allow the right-hander time to build up his pitch count. With Boston's starting rotation in shambles, the Red Sox need immediate support, but Pivetta will need at least a couple of weeks to be extended.

King will start the first game of the Yankees' doubleheader Sunday versus the Mets.

The Yankees will turn to a pair of rookies to start the twin bill, as the newly recalled Deivi Garcia is expected to take the hill in the nightcap. King has previously made four appearances for the Yankees this season, one as a a starter in three in long relief. Over 13.2 innings, King has given up 10 runs on 10 hits and five walks while striking out 12.
