Yarbrough pitched three scoreless innings against Toronto on Saturday, yielding four hits and striking out two. The game was suspended due to rain.

Yarbrough wasn't spotless in the performance -- he left runners stranded in scoring position in two of his three frames -- but the southpaw managed to escape both jams and finish his three innings up 1-0. Unfortunately, he won't be able to earn a win for his effort as the game was suspended in the bottom of the fourth inning and is slated to be made up Sunday morning. Yarbrough's next turn in the rotation will come Friday at home in a rematch against Toronto.

Sulser pitched a perfect 1.1 innings with one strikeout to earn the save in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Nationals.

Sulser was called on for the last out of the eighth inning, and he retired Adam Eaton via a flyout. Sulser then retired Juan Soto, Asdrubal Cabrera and Eric Thames in order in the ninth for his fifth save of the year. The 30-year-old Sulser has a 4.35 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in 10.1 innings this season. He's 5-for-7 in save chances as the primary ninth-inning option in the Baltimore bullpen.

Hand gave up an unearned run on a hit and a walk in the ninth inning Saturday but still came away with his fifth save of the season in a 3-1 win over the Tigers.

The error was a catcher's interference call on Sandy Leon that put Jonathan Schoop on base, setting up a two-out double by JaCoby Jones for Detroit's only run of the night. Hand is not the same dominant reliever he was a couple years ago in San Diego, or even in the first half of last season, but despite his 6.35 ERA he has yet to blow a save in 2020 and maintains a tenuous hold on the closer role in Cleveland.

Giles (forearm) threw again Saturday and continues to feel good, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

Reports remain positive regarding Giles, who hasn't pitched in nearly three weeks due to a forearm strain but who seems to have avoided the worst-case scenario. He's still just playing catch and will be brought along carefully, but he's expected to throw off a mound within 10 days.

Flores was optioned back to the White Sox's secondary site following Saturday's doubleheader, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Flores was briefly called up as the team's extra man, but he didn't play a role in either contest. He's yet to appear in a big-league game this year and has never pitched above the Double-A level.

Alvarado hit the 10-day injured list with left shoulder inflammation Saturday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

The injury certainly could have contributed to Alvarado's performance Saturday, when he allowed four runs while recording just two outs. It's unclear how much time he's expected to miss. Aaron Slegers was recalled in a corresponding move.

Shaw was designated for assignment by the Mariners on Saturday.

Shaw hasn't been very effective this season as he's allowed 12 runs on 13 hits and six walks over six innings. He was shuffled between alternate camp and the major-league roster, but he'll now lose his spot on the 40-man roster. Southpaw Ljay Newsome's contract was selected by the Mariners in a corresponding move Saturday.

Puk (shoulder) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Saturday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Puk has been increasing his throwing distance since being placed on the injured list with a shoulder strain. He's scheduled to throw a 30-pitch bullpen Monday as well. While the southpaw still doesn't have a timetable to return, manager Bob Melvin was optimistic that he'd be able to come back at some point during the abbreviated 2020 season.

Rogers allowed two hits and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning to record the save in the first game a doubleheader against the Royals on Saturday.

Rogers was called upon to protect a two-run lead, and he never allowed the tying run to reach base despite allowing two hits. He erased a leadoff single by inducing a double play to the next batter and followed up another single with a strikeout to close the game to get his fifth save. Rogers has given up runs in two of his last four appearances to inflate his ERA to 4.91, but his skills remain in place as he has a 9:0 K:BB across 7.1 frames for the season.

Foster will start Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

With Chicago planning to lean on its bullpen for Game 2 of Saturday's twin bill, Foster will begin the game on the mound. The right-hander has thrown 7.2 scoreless innings with a 13:2 K:BB this season.
