Foster will start Saturday against Cleveland in what will be a bullpen game.

White Sox manager Rick Renteria confirmed Foster as Saturday's starter following Chicago's win Friday night. The right-handed rookie is making his first career start at any level. Ross Detwiler is also expected to pitch Saturday.

Smeltzer allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out two over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against the Royals on Friday.

He was making his first start of the season. Smeltzer struggled in two relief appearances to begin the year, but the Twins decided to see what Smeltzer could do after Lewis Thorpe walked four in four innings during his start Monday. Smeltzer was serviceable during his time on the mound (62 pitches) and likely showed enough to stick in the rotation until Minnesota gets either Rich Hill (shoulder) or Homer Bailey (biceps) back.

Heller is part of the Yankees' taxi squad for the team's upcoming series against Tampa Bay, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Heller was moved to the Yankees' alternate training site July 25, but he'll be one of two relievers traveling with the team for its weekend series against the Rays. In his only appearance this season, the right-hander allowed one run in one inning against Washington.

The Twins did what they do with a couple long balls, but both were solo shots, and that was the extent of the damage. Junis threw 76 pitches in this outing after throwing 64 pitches in his 2020 debut last weekend. Junis began the season on the COVID-19 injured list and it will be a couple starts yet before he's fully built up.

Abreu is traveling with the Yankees as part of their taxi squad for the team's upcoming series against Tampa Bay, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Abreu has been working out at the team's alternate training site. He is one of two relievers selected for the taxi squad, which increased from three to five players Thursday. The 24-year-old has yet to pitch above the Triple-A level, but he stands a reasonable chance of making his big-league debut at some point this season.

Ottavino (2-1) allowed one run on no hits and two walks while striking out one over one inning as he was charged with the loss Friday against the Rays.

Ottavino has earned two wins in relief this season, but he picked up his first loss Friday. He came on in the eighth inning of a scoreless contest against the Rays and allowed two walks before giving up a go-ahead sacrifice fly that put him in line for the loss. Despite the blemish on his record, Ottavino has a 1.80 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over five innings in his first six relief appearances this year.

Montero (elbow) struck out two in a perfect ninth inning to convert the save in Friday's 4-3 win over the Angels.

Montero was strong in his season debut, getting Brian Goodwin to ground out before whiffing David Fletcher and Mike Trout. In 2019, Montero pitched to a 2.48 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 34 strikeouts over 29 innings. He recorded seven holds last year and figures to work in a late-inning role again in 2020, potentially even as a closer option with Jose Leclerc (shoulder) questionable to pitch again this season.

Staumont was removed from Friday's win against the Twins with back tightness, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Staumont slipped on the mound while delivering one of his pitches Friday, and manager Mike Matheny said after the game that he was removed from the game as a precautionary measure. The right-hander will be examined again Saturday in order to better determine the extent of the injury.

Colome pitched a perfect ninth inning with two strikeouts to earn the save in Friday's 2-0 win over Cleveland.

Colome was able to protect a 2-0 lead to earn his fourth save of the season. The 31-year-old closer has been dominant to start the year, allowing no runs and just six baserunners in six innings.
