David Robertson RP | PHI
Yankees' David Robertson: Back in action Friday
Robertson (shoulder) gave up two runs (both unearned) in his last appearance Friday against the Orioles.
The right-hander had been dealing with some shoulder soreness, though the Yankees deemed him healthy enough to make an appearance Friday. Though the home run was unfortunate for the team, the fact that Robertson didn't allow an earned run meant that his ERA dropped to 3.05 on the season. Now that he's healthy, he's expected to be part of a closer committee with Zach Britton and Dellin Betances while Aroldis Chapman (knee) is sidelined.

Hansel Robles RP | LAD
Angels' Hansel Robles: Returns from DL on Sunday
Robles (shoulder) was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list Sunday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic Los Angeles reports.
Robles wound up missing the minimum 10 days of action after incurring a right shoulder impingement earlier in the month. He figures to fill a middle-relief role now that he's back in action. To make room for him on the active roster, Deck McGuire was optioned to Triple-A.

Emilio Pagan RP | CIN
Athletics' Emilio Pagan: Heads back to Oakland
The Athletics recalled Pagan from Triple-A Nashville on Sunday.
Pagan was optioned to the minors following Saturday's game against the Twins, but the reliever will return to the 25-man roster less than 24 hours later following Sean Manaea's (shoulder) surprising placement on the disabled list. The right-hander will likely settle back into a middle-relief role for the Athletics after compiling a 3.71 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in his first 45 appearances of the season for the big club.

Sean Manaea SP | NYM
Athletics' Sean Manaea: Heads to DL with shoulder issue
The Athletics placed Manaea on the 10-day disabled list Sunday with a left shoulder impingement.
No injury was reported during Manaea's most recent start Friday against the Twins, though it's worth noting that he was pulled after throwing just 67 pitches in the victory while giving up one unearned run on five hits and one walk. Manaea's velocity has been dipping steadily since the beginning of the season, but the southpaw has still performed effectively, managing a 3.59 ERA and 1.08 WHIP across 27 starts. There's no indication that Manaea's setback is viewed as an especially significant one, so the Athletics may only need to get by without him for one or two turns through the rotation.

Stephen Gonsalves RP | LAD
Twins' Stephen Gonsalves: Allows four runs in loss
Gonsalves (0-2) took the loss Saturday against the A's, allowing four runs on seven hits and four walks across five innings. He struck out two.
Jonathan Lucroy got the best of him in this one, knocking an RBI single in the second inning before depositing a three-run homer in the fourth frame. Gonsalves has now allowed four runs in each of his first two major-league appearances, leaving him with an unsightly 11.37 ERA through just 6.1 big-league innings. He's also compiled an ugly 5:6 K:BB across those starts, highlighting the command issues that have plagued him all year (65 walks in 120.2 minor-league frames). It's unclear if the rookie will get another turn through the rotation at this point, but if he does, Gonsalves would line up to face the Rangers on the road.

Jaime Barria RP | CLE
Angels' Jaime Barria: Lasts only three innings
Barria (8-8) allowed four earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out one across three innings to take the loss Saturday against the Astros.
The Astros jumped on Barria early, scoring three runs in the first inning and forcing him to throw 36 pitches. That set the tone for the short outing, though Barria did manage to limit the damage after the first frame. Despite the rough start, the 22-year-old rookie has put together a respectable campaign, posting a 3.67 ERA and 1.27 WHIP across 100.2 innings.

Edwin Diaz RP | LAD
Mariners' Edwin Diaz: Reaches 50 saves
Diaz allowed two hits but earned the save against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Diaz allowed consecutive singles to start the 10th inning but benefited from the potential game-tying run being thrown out at home for the first out. He went on to retire the next two batters without incident to lock down his 50th save of the season. While this appearance didn't fall in line with his usual dominance -- it was the first of 11 August appearances in which he didn't record a strikeout -- there shouldn't be cause for any concern.

Dellin Betances RP | LAD
Yankees' Dellin Betances: Picks up one-out save
Betances picked up his first save of the season Saturday against the Orioles, striking out the only batter he faced in Game 2 of the doubleheader.
Tommy Kahnle initially took over in the ninth inning with the Yankees up 5-0, but manager Aaron Boone was forced to turn to Betances after Kahnle was unable to close the door, allowing one run on three hits before getting the hook with two outs. Betances needed just five pitches to strike out Caleb Joseph and secure the win for New York. He's now allowed just one run since the All-Star break (12.1 innings), compiling an impressive 0.73 ERA and 22:1 K:BB over that stretch. The Yankees figure to continue to use a closer-by-committee approach with Aroldis Chapman (knee) on the disabled list, mixing and matching between Betances, Zach Britton and David Robertson (shoulder) in the ninth inning.

Emilio Pagan RP | CIN
Athletics' Emilio Pagan: Sent to minors
Pagan was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Pagan, who hasn't pitched since Aug. 19, was sent to the minors to free up a roster spot for Sunday's starter Chris Bassitt, who is set to be promoted from the Sounds in a corresponding move. In his last appearance, Pagan surrendered a trio of solo homers across three innings, raising his ERA from 3.40 to 3.71. He should be back with the A's sometime in early September after rosters expand.

Ryan Yarbrough RP | NYY
Rays' Ryan Yarbrough: Solid in no-decision
Yarbrough allowed one run on five hits and one walk across five innings Saturday against the Red Sox. He struck out two and didn't factor into the decision.
Yarbrough was solid in what was his sixth start of the season, stifling a difficult Red Sox lineup through five innings before exiting with the game knotted at 1-1. The lone run he allowed came from a double play groundout in the second inning. The 25-year-old now owns a solid 3.75 ERA through 124.2 innings this season. It's unclear if Yarbrough will receive another start or if he'll return to his role as a long reliever.
