Tanner Scott RP | LAD
Orioles' Tanner Scott: Optioned to minors
Scott was sent down to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Scott was cast off the active roster in order to make room for Darren O'Day (elbow), who was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list prior to Saturday's matinee against Toronto. Over 13 appearances with the Orioles this season, Scott has posted a 4.96 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with a solid 23:6 K:BB in 16.1 innings of relief. Expect to see the left-hander back in the majors in the near future.

Chris Beck RP | STL
White Sox's Chris Beck: DFA'd Saturday
Beck was designated for assignment Saturday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Beck will be bumped off the 40-man roster after appearing in 14 games out of the bullpen this season, posting a 4.18 ERA and 1.48 WHIP with 16 strikeouts across 23.2 innings. The transaction was made to make room for the return of Carlos Rodon (shoulder) who's slated to get the nod Saturday against Boston.

Ryan Pressly RP | CHC
Twins' Ryan Pressly: Recent struggles continue
Pressly gave up two runs on two hits in the seventh inning to take the loss in Friday's defeat to the Angels.
Pressly was having a solid season in a setup role until late May, as he's given up three home runs, including a two-run shot Friday, and seven earned runs in his last four innings over five appearances to pump his E$RA up to 3.73. He is likely suffering from overuse, as he's appeared in 33 of Minnesota's first 60 games. Pressly has increased his strikeout rate to a career-high 12.9 K/9 and has been somewhat unlucky with a .392 BABIP, so there's every reason to think he'll turn things around if he's used more conservatively.

Michael Fulmer RP | NYY
Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Strong effort in Friday's no-decision
Fulmer didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 4-1 loss to Cleveland, allowing one run on five hits over seven innings while striking out seven.
The right-hander has been inconsistent this season, but he was sharp Friday, throwing 71 of 108 pitches for strikes and delivering his sixth quality start of the year. Fulmer will take a 4.40 ERA into his next outing Wednesday at home against the Twins.

Dylan Covey RP | ATL
White Sox's Dylan Covey: Outduels Chris Sale on Friday
Covey (2-1) picked up the win in Friday's 1-0 victory over the Red Sox, scattering three hits and a walk over six scoreless innings while striking out seven.
Matched up against Boston ace Chris Sale, Covey rose to the occasion and struck out at least seven batters for the third time in four starts since returning to the big-league staff in late May. The right-hander now holds a 2.22 ERA and 28:1 K:BB through 28.1 innings and appears to be locking down a spot in the rotation heading into Wednesday's home start against Cleveland.

Lou Trivino RP | PHI
Athletics' Lou Trivino: Gets first save of season
Trivino got the save against the Royals on Friday, striking out two in his 1.1 innings of work to lock down Oakland's eventual 7-2 victory.
Oakland opted to give regular closer Blake Treinen the day off in this one, allowing Trivino to fill in and bag his first save of the campaign with a clean effort. Trivino has been putting up great numbers with a 1.82 ERA over his 24.2 innings this season. However, any potential upside as a secondary source of saves is limited by Treinen, who has been absolutely lights out in his own right this year with a sub-1.00 ERA and WHIP and has seemed pretty entrenched as the primary option in the ninth inning.
-
Jakob Junis RP | TEX
Royals' Jakob Junis: Knocked around by A's
Junis (5-6) was dealt the loss against Oakland on Friday, as he got knocked around for six earned runs on 10 hits over 5.1 innings, striking out five and walking one as the Royals lost 7-2.
Junis had fired two quality starts in a row coming into this contest, but he couldn't keep up the positive momentum. He got off to a roaring start to the season with a 2.03 ERA over his first four starts, but he's cooled since then, as this rough outing brought his ERA up to 4.05 through 80 innings. That's closer to the 4.30 mark he put up over his 98.1 innings last year, so it would probably be wise to expect Junis to hover around that number as the season progresses. That said, if he can maintain the pace of his current 1.19 WHIP and 76:19 K:BB, he would continue to hold fantasy value even without an elite-level ERA.
-
Edwin Diaz RP | LAD
Mariners' Edwin Diaz: Records 22nd save of season
Diaz pitched 1.1 scoreless innings for the save Friday against the Rays, striking out two and walking zero while allowing two hits.
Diaz went more than one inning for just the second time this year, throwing 20 pitches (14 strikes) to record his MLB-leading 22nd save. Diaz is holding opponents to a .152 batting average while sporting a 54:12 K:BB in 33 innings. The Mariners' penchant for close games works in Diaz's favor as one of the preeminent closers in the game.
-
Aroldis Chapman RP | BOS
Yankees' Aroldis Chapman: Notches 16th save on Friday
Chapman pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the save in Friday's win over the Mets, allowing one hit while issuing no walks and no strikeouts.
Afterward, Chapman had his left knee wrapped and was walking gingerly in the clubhouse, but he reportedly plans on pitching through the injury. This was only the second time all season in which Chapman didn't record a strikeout in an appearance, the other time coming on April 27 against the Angels. Nonetheless he's still sporting a superb 46:11 K:BB in 26.2 innings to go along with a .143 batting average against. The lefty is now 16-for-17 in save chances.

Tyler Duffey RP | KC
Twins' Tyler Duffey: Banished to minors
Duffey was optioned to Triple-A Rochester following Friday's 4-2 loss to the Angels, Dan Hayes of The Athletic Minnesota reports.
Duffey made three relief appearances during his latest big-league stint, tossing five scoreless innings and striking out three. A corresponding roster move is expected to be made prior to Saturday's tilt.
