White Sox's Dominic Leone: Nearing rehab assignment
Leone (elbow) has begun the ramp-up process and could begin a rehab assignment during the week of July 22, MLB.com reports.
Leone has been sidelined since May 24 and has managed only 15.1 total innings this season. He should require only a couple of rehab appearances before rejoining the White Sox's bullpen.

Kenley Jansen RP | DET
Red Sox's Kenley Jansen: Not traveling to Colorado
Jansen said that Sunday that he won't travel with the Red Sox to Colorado for the club's three-game series with the Rockies this week due to his pre-existing heart condition, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Jansen has dealt with atrial fibrillation throughout his career and will remain in Boston when the Red Sox kick off their series in Denver on Monday. The altitude is perceived to be a risk for the team's closer, so he'll get a few days off. Boston is expected to operate with only 25 players on their major-league roster for the series, and in Jansen's absence, Brennan Bernardino and Zack Kelly could be candidates to scoop up any save chances that might come about.

John Brebbia RP | COL
White Sox's John Brebbia: Implodes to take loss
Brebbia (0-5) allowed three earned runs on five hits and no walks while striking out two to take the loss Sunday against the Royals.
Brebbia began the season in poor form but entered Sunday's game having maintained a 1.40 ERA and 0.93 WHIP with a 28:4 K:BB across his past 19.1 innings. He has been one of the White Sox's top setup men in that span and has racked up eight holds. Michael Kopech appears to have a grip on the closer role for the team, but setting aside Sunday's tough outing, Brebbia has proven to be a reliable high-leverage option.

Peter Strzelecki RP | MIL
Guardians' Peter Strzelecki: Moves up to big leagues
The Guardians recalled Strzelecki from Triple-A Columbus on Sunday.
He'll join the Cleveland bullpen as a replacement for right-hander Spencer Howard, who was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Strzelecki tossed 5.2 scoreless innings over four relief appearances with Cleveland earlier this season but has otherwise spent the entire 2024 campaign at the Triple-A level, where he's turned in a 4.18 ERA and 1.15 WHIP over 32.1 frames.

Spencer Howard SP | CLE
Guardians' Spencer Howard: Pushed off 40-man roster
The Guardians designated Howard for assignment Sunday.
After being acquired from the Giants earlier this month, Howard stepped into the rotation for his Guardians debut July 11, but he lasted just three innings and gave up four earned runs in a loss against the Tigers. The Guardians turned to him in relief for his next appearance in Saturday's 7-0 loss to the Padres and he once again struggled, surrendering four runs (one earned) on four hits -- including two home runs -- in two innings. After the pair of poor outings, the Guardians will move on from Howard and replace him on the 26-man active roster with righty Peter Strzelecki, who was called up from Triple-A Columbus ahead of Sunday's series finale with San Diego.

Daniel Robert P | PHI
Rangers' Daniel Robert: Returns to minors
The Rangers optioned Robert to Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.
After covering three innings across two relief appearances Friday and Sunday, Robert will be swapped out of the Texas bullpen in favor of a fresh arm in right-hander Gerson Garabito, who was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move. During his first stint in the majors, Roberts gave up two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings.

Garabito is back with the Rangers for the second time this season after he previously struck out five batters and gave up one earned run on four hits and five walks over 5.2 innings in three appearances (one start) while he was with the big club from May 26 through June 7. He'll serve as a multi-inning option out of the Texas bullpen.

Twins' Kody Funderburk: Shelved with oblique strain
The Twins placed Funderburk on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a left oblique strain.
After being called up from Triple-A St. Paul on June 21, Funderburk made six appearances out of the Minnesota bullpen and gave up seven earned runs over 9.1 innings before sustaining the oblique injury. The Twins promoted right-hander Ronny Henriquez from Triple-A to replace Funderburk in the bullpen.

Josh Hader RP | HOU
Astros' Josh Hader: Collects 20th save
Hader picked up a save over the Mariners on Saturday, allowing one walk over a scoreless ninth inning while striking out two.
Hader entered the contest with a two-run lead in the ninth and retired the first two batters before surrendering a walk to Jonatan Clase. The veteran reliever then made short work of Luke Raley for the third and final out, securing his 20th save of the campaign and his eighth in the month of July. Hader has also posted two strikeouts in four of his last five appearances while not allowing a hit over that stretch.
