  • Athletics' Jack O'Loughlin: Heading back to minors

The Athletics optioned O'Loughlin to Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday.

Though he was called up from Las Vegas on June 25, O'Loughlin went unused out of the bullpen until the Athletics' 19-8 win over the Orioles on Saturday, when he gave up five runs on seven hits and two walks over 2.2 innings while mopping up. The Athletics activated Kyle Muller (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list to replace O'Loughlin in the bullpen.

  • Shelby Miller RP | CHC

Tigers' Shelby Miller: Earns win Saturday

Miller (5-6) tossed two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win in Saturday's 5-3 victory over the Reds. He allowed one hit and struck out three.

It was a badly needed positive effort for Miller, who came into the contest having allowed nine earned runs across 2.1 innings in his previous three appearances. The veteran righty lowered his ERA to under 6.00 in the process. Miller is in a high-leverage role for the Tigers, but he'll need more good performances to earn any trust in fantasy leagues.

  • Kirby Yates RP | LAA

Rangers' Kirby Yates: Collects 13th save

Yates pitched a perfect ninth inning Saturday without a strikeout to record his 13th save of the season in a 4-3 win over the Rays.

The right-hander needed just 10 pitches to produce two flyballs and a comebacker by Ben Rortvedt that Yates knocked down before calmly throwing out the Tampa Bay backstop. Yates still has yet to blow a save chance this season, and he's been tagged with just one earned run over his last 16 appearances, posting a 0.60 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 26:7 K:BB through 15 innings over that dominant stretch.

  • Andrew Chafin RP | CIN

Tigers' Andrew Chafin: Records first save

Chafin earned a save against the Reds on Saturday by striking out the only batter he faced.

Detroit held a three-run lead heading into the ninth inning and turned the ball over to closer Jason Foley. However, the right-hander wasn't effective, giving up a leadoff homer to Spencer Steer and a two-out single to Noelvi Marte. Chafin was subsequently brought in to get the final out of the contest and did so by fanning Santiago Espinal on six pitches. Chafin recorded a career-high eight saves with Arizona last year, but this was his first save this season.

  • Alex Faedo SP | TB

Tigers' Alex Faedo: Opens with two scoreless frames

Faedo allowed one hit while striking out two batters in two scoreless innings as the opener in Detroit's win over Cincinnati on Saturday.

Faedo began the Tigers' bullpen game and got the job done with two scoreless innings. It marked the first time the right-hander opened a contest this season. This is Faedo's first campaign as a full-time reliever in the majors, and he's posted a 3.18 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 35:15 K:BB over 39.2 frames.

  • Chad Green RP | TOR

Blue Jays' Chad Green: Picks up fourth save

Green notched a save against the Mariners on Saturday, allowing one run on one hit while striking out two batters over 1.1 innings.

Green was deployed with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning and struck out Cal Raleigh to preserve a two-run Toronto lead. He returned in the ninth frame and worked around a one-out solo shot by Luke Raley to nail down the save. Green has two saves over the past four days and has allowed just three earned runs -- all on solo homers -- over 21 innings since the start of April. However, he could see fewer closing opportunities with Yimi Garcia nearing his return from an elbow injury.

  • Pedro Avila RP | CLE

Guardians' Pedro Avila: Secures third win

Avila (3-1) allowed a run on one hit and struck out two over 1.1 innings to earn the win Saturday over the Giants.

Avila worked in the sixth and seventh innings, and he was credited with the win by the official scorer in a game in which the Guardians never trailed despite Logan Allen's 4.1-inning start. Avila has worked more than an inning in seven straight appearances, allowing four runs over 12.2 frames with a 10:8 K:BB in that span. Overall, he's pitched to a 3.86 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 48:21 K:BB through 46.2 innings between the Guardians and the Padres this season. Avila continues to fill a low-leverage role for Cleveland.

  • Emmanuel Clase RP | CLE

Guardians' Emmanuel Clase: Collects save Saturday

Clase walked one and struck out none over a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Giants.

Clase has earned six saves and a win during his active nine-inning scoreless streak. He's added a 5:2 K:BB in that span. The closer is 26-for-29 in save chances this year with a 0.65 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 39:5 K:BB across 41.1 innings.

  • Red Sox's Josh Winckowski: Allows two homers in no-decision

Winckowski did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 14-4 loss to the Yankees, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 3.2 innings.

Winckowski surrendered a leadoff home run to Ben Rice in the first inning and a two-run homer to Alex Verdugo in the third. He departed at 66 pitches with one out to go in the fourth frame in an unimpressive follow-up to the five scoreless frames he threw Sunday. On the season, the 26-year-old owns a 3.23 ERA and 1.44 WHIP over 39 innings and lines up to face the Royals next week if he remains in the rotation.

  • Royals' Walter Pennington: Optioned back to Omaha

The Royals optioned Pennington to Triple-A Omaha on Saturday.

Just a day after being selected to the active roster, Pennington will now return to Triple-A, though he'll keep his spot on the 40-man roster. The 26-year-old lefty struck out a batter in two-thirds of an inning during his MLB debut Friday and could be a candidate to return to Kansas City if he remains effective in Triple-A (2.35 ERA, 0.97 WHIP). Kris Bubic (elbow) was activated from the 60-day IL in a corresponding move.
