Tyson Miller RP | CHW
Brewers' Tyson Miller: Optioned to Nashville
The Brewers optioned Miller to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.
Miller was brought up from Triple-A on June 9 after injuries to Bennett Sousa (shoulder) and Jake Cousins (shoulder), and he will return to Nashville with the return of Wade Miley (lat) on Saturday. Miller made two appearances during his latest stint with the Brewers, throwing two scoreless innings while striking out two batters and walking one.

A.J. Puk RP | ARI
Marlins' A.J. Puk: Secures eighth save
Puk picked up the save Friday against the Nationals, allowing one hit over a scoreless inning. He struck out one and did not issue a walk.
Puk hasn't given up an earned run in his last seven appearances (6.2 innings), posting 10 strikeouts and three saves during that stretch. Overall, the left-hander is 8-for-9 in save chances and holds a 2.29 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 25:3 K:BB across 20 games (19.2 innings). He missed nearly a month on the injured list with an elbow issue, but he's been sharp since his return to MLB, allowing just one unearned run across five innings.

Dinelson Lamet RP | LAD
Rockies' Dinelson Lamet: Crushed by Atlanta
Lamet (1-4) took the loss Friday as the Rockies were routed 8-1 by Atlanta, surrendering eight runs on five hits -- including three home runs -- and five walks over four innings. He struck out five.
The right-hander had neither control nor command, throwing 46 of 89 pitches for strikes and catching far too much of the plate when he did find the strike zone, and Atlanta pushed multiple runs across the plate in three of Lamet's four frames. The 30-year-old has a 10.80 ERA and 18:10 K:BB through 15 innings over four starts since moving into Colorado's rotation, and it's fair to wonder how much longer the team will stick with him before shifting him back to the bullpen. If he does get another start, Lamet's next turn would project for a road series next week in Cincinnati.

Taylor Rogers RP | MIN
Giants' Taylor Rogers: Picks up win
Rogers (3-2) allowed one walk and struck out one in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the extra-innings win over the Dodgers on Friday.
Rogers worked the 10th inning and kept the game tied before the Giants pulled ahead in the 11th. He's now on a 10.1-inning scoreless streak with a 20:3 K:BB over that impressive span. The southpaw has effectively shaken off his slow start to the year and now has a 2.96 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 32:12 K:BB with three holds and a save through 24.1 innings. He's still seeing high-leverage assignments, though not necessarily in areas where he can rack up holds.

Jake Junis RP | TEX
Giants' Jakob Junis: Nabs save Friday
Junis recorded one strikeout in a perfect 11th inning to earn the save in Friday's 7-5 win over the Dodgers.
The Giants currently have a routine bullpen day in their rotation, and this was it, leaving few arms available by the 11th inning. Junis was able to protect a two-run lead with ease, earning the first save of his major-league career in the process. He was effective in late May, but he's given up five runs over 9.2 innings across four appearances in June while typically working in lower-leverage spots. For the season, Junis owns a 4.12 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 48:16 K:BB over 39.1 innings as a multi-inning option out of the bullpen. He also has one hold and a 3-3 record.

Camilo Doval RP | NYY
Giants' Camilo Doval: Takes blown save
Doval allowed a run on three hits and a walk while striking out one over one inning, taking a blown save in Friday's 7-5 extra-innings win over the Dodgers.
Doval allowed four straight batters to reach base, but he was able to limit the damage to one run. The slip-up ended his run of 15 straight save conversions, but he's still 18-for-20 in save chances this season as one of the most effective closers in baseball. Doval has a 2.03 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 44:14 K:BB through 31 innings this season, and it would likely take an extended run of poor pitching for his ninth-inning role to be challenged.
-
Sean Manaea RP | NYM
Giants' Sean Manaea: Struggles in bulk role Friday
Manaea allowed four runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six over 3.2 innings in Friday's 7-5 extra-innings win over the Dodgers. He did not factor in the decision.
Manaea has had a couple of good long-relief outings and a couple of shaky ones over his last four appearances, with Friday's being in the latter category. The Dodgers did all their damage against Manaea in the fifth inning. The southpaw is now at a 5.84 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 63:21 K:BB over 49.1 innings through 15 appearances (six starts) this season. With Alex Wood (back) likely to return Saturday, the Giants will have only one opening in their rotation, which Manaea has been filling with his long-relief assignments lately. He's tentatively projected to face the Padres at home in his next outing.
-
Devin Williams RP | NYM
Brewers' Devin Williams: Escapes with save
Williams allowed one hit and two walks in one scoreless inning Friday, striking out two and earning a save over the Pirates.
Williams loaded the bases with two outs but managed to close out the 5-4 win. This performance comes after he coughed up four runs without recording an out while blowing his first save of the year Tuesday. Williams has now converted 11 of 12 save opportunities while posting a 1.99 ERA and a 32:13 K:BB through 22.2 frames.

Ryan Weathers SP | NYY
Padres' Ryan Weathers: Optioned to El Paso
The Padres optioned Weathers to Triple-A El Paso on Friday.
After giving up six earned runs across 1.2 frames in his last appearance Thursday, Weathers will be relegated to the minors. He holds a 6.13 ERA during his Triple-A career, but he has thrown eight scoreless innings across two appearances in El Paso this season. Ray Kerr was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Tom Cosgrove RP | HOU
Padres' Tom Cosgrove: Lands on IL
The Padres placed Cosgrove on the 15-day injured list Friday with a left hamstring strain.
Cosgrove has been one of the most reliable options out of the bullpen for San Diego all season with just one earned run through 17 innings. However, he will now be shelved for at least 15 days. He will trade places with Nabil Crismatt (hip), who was reinstated from the 15-day IL in a corresponding move.
