Leone is scheduled to start Monday against the Padres in what amounts to a bullpen game, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Leone will pick up his third start in eight days while the Giants currently have only three healthy rotation options (Kevin Gausman, Logan Webb and Anthony DeSclafani) on the 28-man active roster. The Giants are expected to call up Scott Kazmir from Triple-A Sacramento later this week to serve as a starting option or primary pitcher out of the bullpen, but the team will likely use multiple relievers after Leone exits Monday's contest. In his last turn as an opener Saturday, Leone worked two innings, tying his longest outing of the season.

Gallegos recorded his eighth save of the season Sunday against the Reds after tossing a scoreless inning, allowing one hit and fanning two.

Gallegos extended his streak of scoreless appearances to four and continues to dazzle, as he has gone 5-for-5 in save chances this month while also going 7-for-8 since the beginning of August. He had a woeful outing against the Brewers on Sep. 5, but he has been excellent other than that and has given up just five earned runs across 15 innings over his last 15 appearances since the last time he blew a save opportunity (Aug. 5).

Diaz saved Sunday's 7-6 triumph over the Yankees, allowing a hit and a walk with two strikeouts in the ninth inning.

After recording two blown saves and two losses in his last three appearances, Diaz finally came through Sunday, though the outing was far from seamless. The hard-throwing righty put two Yankees on with one out but got Brett Gardner looking and induced a Giancarlo Stanton pop out to end the game and earn his 29th save. Diaz has now surrendered four runs in four September innings across five appearances.

Hudson (elbow) recorded a win in Double-A Springfield's victory over Arkansas on Sunday, allowing an earned run on two hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out three.

Hudson worked up to 57 pitches, 36 of which he got into the strike zone. The right-hander has yet to encounter a hiccup in his rehab process as he continues to defy the odds and leave himself poised for a return before the end of the regular season. While the Cardinals have already said Hudson will fill a relief role if he is activated, any kind of action at the big-league level in 2021 would be of benefit in getting the 26-year-old physically and mentally prepared to rejoin the rotation in 2022.

Gilbert (2-2) allowed two earned runs on two hits and one walk while striking out two across 5.1 innings, earning the win over the Mariners on Sunday.

Gilbert allowed solo home runs to Mitch Haniger and Dylan Moore, but he did not allow any other runs. It was his first win since his no-hitter Aug. 14. The 27-year-old has a 3.15 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 25 punchouts in 40 innings. His next start is scheduled for Saturday in Houston.

Smith allowed a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning Sunday, earning a save over the Marlins.

Smith allowed leadoff triple to Jesus Sanchez and found himself in a first-and-third jam with just one out. He wiggled out of the threat and has now converted 32-of-37 save chances this season, including nine of his last 10. The veteran closer lowered his ERA to 3.66 through 59 frames.

Finnegan struck out one batter over 1.2 perfect innings and earned a save over Pittsburgh on Sunday.

Finnegan was called on to protect a 6-2 lead and had no issue finishing off the game. He's converted his last seven save opportunities dating back to Aug. 7 with a 1.23 ERA during that span. Finnegan has nine saves with a 60:28 K:BB on the year.

Wilson (2-7) allowed five runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.1 innings and took a loss against Washington on Sunday.

All five runs against Wilson came via the long ball, and he failed to record a strikeout in the subpar outing. He allowed solo homers to Luis Garcia and Alex Avila followed by a big three-run shot by Lane Thomas. The 23-year-old righty has given up 12 runs through 15.1 innings (7.04 ERA) over his last three outings. Wilson is now sporting a 4.97 ERA with a 41:18 K:BB through 67 frames. He's lined up to take the mound in Miami next.

Lamet (2-4) took the loss in Sunday's 8-0 defeat at the hands of the Dodgers, allowing one run on one hit and two walks with one strikeout in two-thirds of an inning.

Lamet was deployed earlier than expected when starter Blake Snell went down with an injury after just 11 pitches. He entered a scoreless game in the fourth inning as San Diego's third pitcher and retired the first two Dodgers he faced before surrendering a Corey Seager home run and two walks, prompting his removal. San Diego escaped the jam but couldn't touch Max Scherzer all game, giving Lamet the loss. The Padres will need him to pitch better than his 7.36 September ERA down the stretch run if he's going to have a role in meaningful games.

Neris (2-6) took the loss Sunday versus Colorado. He allowed two runs on two hits in one inning.

The right-hander allowed a single to Elias Diaz and a home run to Garrett Hampson in the seventh inning, and Philadelphia wasn't able to recover from it. Neris saw his 10.1-inning scoreless streak come to a close -- during that span, he allowed five hits and four walks while striking out 17. He's pitched to a 3.45 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 82:25 K:BB in 62.2 innings this year. Neris remains in a setup role behind Ian Kennedy after the former lost the closer job in June.
