Yates allowed a hit in a scoreless ninth inning, striking out three batters in the win over the Cubs.

Yates came in to face the Cubs' heavy hitters and made quick work of them. After striking out Javier Baez and Kris Bryant, he allowed a two-out single to Anthony Rizzo before fanning Robel Garcia to close things out. He didn't earn a save, but fantasy owners will appreciate the three punchouts while the 32-year-old lowered his ERA to a ridiculous 1.05 for the year.

Morejon allowed one run on three hits over 2.1 innings as the opener Sunday, striking out one batter and taking a no-decision in the win over the Cubs.

The 20-year-old rookie made his MLB debut as the opener and did a decent job. Morejon got in some trouble in the first inning, allowing hits to Javier Baez and Kris Bryant before an RBI groundout from Anthony Rizzo. It's unclear how long he'll stay with the big club, but he's used to working in an opening role as he's done so for most of 2019 with Double-A Amarillo.

Nelson (elbow) allowed an earned run on two hits with no walks and a strikeout in a rehab appearance with Low-A Wisconsin, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Nelson made his first appearance in game action since being placed on the injured list June 28. While the results weren't great, the fact that Nelson was able to take the mound was a positive development.

Voth (bicep) was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday.

Voth was originally slated to start Sunday's contest but was scratched due to arm soreness. That progressed to the point where he needs a stint on the injured list, with Joe Ross tabbed to take the ball in his place. Voth will be first eligible to be activated July 28.

Weigel was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.

Weigel was recalled Friday but did not make an appearance with the big-league club. His demotion was the corresponding move to activate Kevin Gausman (foot) -- Sunday's starter -- off the injured list.

Menez was called up from Triple-A Sacramento and will be the starting pitcher Sunday against the Mets.

Menez was officially called up and is set to make his major-league debut Sunday. He excelled at the two highest levels of the minors this season, racking up a 3.13 ERA across 95 innings. Menez should be able to work deep into the game if he throws well, as he has thrown more than 90 pitches in five of his last six starts in the minors.

Blach was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.

Blach was recalled to San Francisco on Friday. He made one appearance with the club prior to being optioned and allowed three earned runs on seven hits and a walk across three innings.

Morejon was called up from Double-A Amarillo on Sunday.

Morejon is set to make his major-league debut as the official starter Sunday against the Cubs. However, reports prior to his callup indicate that he'll be used as an opener. It would be surprising to see him work deep into the game, as he has pitched more than two innings only once since mid-April. Cal Quantrill is expected to work as the primary pitcher after Morejon bows out.

Wingenter was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.

Wingenter was optioned in a series of moves made by the Padres to make room for Adrian Morejon and Michel Baez. Wingenter had pitched fairly effectively out of the bullpen for the club, posting a 4.26 ERA and 1.13 WHIP with 53 strikeouts across 38 innings.

Wingenter is expected to be optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Sunday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The club needs to make room for Michel Baez, who is set to be called up Sunday. Wingenter has appeared exclusively out of the bullpen for the Padres this season and has compiled a 4.26 ERA and 1.13 WHIP with 53 strikeouts across 38 innings.
