Connor Thomas RP | KC
Brewers' Connor Thomas: Slated for season-ending surgery
Thomas is scheduled for season-ending elbow surgery July 16, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.
Thomas landed on the IL in early April due to a left elbow injury, but he was able to begin a rehab assignment in late May. However, the lefty reliever suffered a setback after his first rehab appearance and is now set to go under the knife, which will end his 2025 campaign. Thomas got into two games with the Brewers this season in his initial MLB cup of coffee, allowing 12 runs with a 5:2 K:BB over 5.1 innings.

John Curtiss RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' John Curtiss: Selected from Triple-A
The Diamondbacks selected Curtiss's contract from Triple-A Reno on Saturday.
Curtiss signed a minor-league deal with Arizona in February and has posted a 6.34 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 28:9 K:BB over 32.2 innings with Reno this season. While those numbers are poor, the righty has been better of late, tossing 3.2 scoreless frames over his past three outings. To make room for Curtiss on the 26-man and 40-man rosters, the Diamondbacks designated fellow reliever Tayler Scott for assignment.

Jose Ferrer RP | SEA
Nationals' Jose Ferrer: Nabs 15th hold
Ferrer tossed 1.1 scoreless innings of relief Friday to record his 15th hold of the season in a win over the Angels.
The southpaw has had a shaky June overall, posting a 5.11 ERA in 12.1 innings, but Ferrer has already set a new career high in holds after coming into 2025 with only 11 over 70 big-league appearances. He seems locked in as one of closer Kyle Finnegan's primary setup men, but his sinker-heavy approach likely won't get him much ninth-inning work in the event Finnegan is traded -- Ferrer has a 59.8 percent groundball rate but only a 19.0 percent strikeout rate on the season.

Anthony Banda RP | MIN
Dodgers' Anthony Banda: Notches fifth hold Friday
Banda allowed one hit and walked one batter while striking out one over one-third of an inning to earn a hold against Kansas City on Friday.
Banda entered with two outs and nobody on base in the seventh inning. He began the frame by allowing a Vinnie Pasquantino double before intentionally walking Salvador Perez. However, Banda was able to get Jac Caglianone on a swinging strikeout to end the frame. It wasn't the smoothest outing for the southpaw, but it was a decent bounce-back outing after he surrendered three earned runs over two-thirds of an inning in his previous appearance. Banda has been getting more high-leverage work of late with four holds across his past seven outings, and he's held the opponent scoreless in 10 of his past 11 appearances.

Brooks Raley RP | PHI
Mets' Brooks Raley: Shifting assignment to Double-A
Raley (elbow) is slated to move his rehab assignment from Single-A St. Lucie to Double-A Binghamton on Saturday, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.
Raley continues to progress in his recovery from May 2024 Tommy John surgery. He made three rehab outings in Single-A, allowing three hits and no walks while striking out six across three scoreless innings. Given how good he's looked in limited action, Raley appears to be on track to rejoin the Mets' bullpen sometime in July.

Chris Flexen RP | CHC
Cubs' Chris Flexen: Covers four strong innings Friday
Flexen tossed four scoreless innings of relief in Friday's 7-4 loss to the Astros. He allowed two hits and a walk while striking out one.
Chicago starter Cade Horton was hit hard, allowing seven earned runs in his four innings of work, but Flexen kept the Cubs in the game the rest of the way. It was a pretty standard outing for the veteran righty, who's allowed only two earned runs in 28 innings this season but is also sitting with just a 4.5 K/9. Flexen's middle-relief role and lack of strikeouts limit his fantasy appeal, though he's been exceptional in real life for his new team in 2025.

Michael Petersen RP | MIA
Braves' Michael Petersen: Sent back to Triple-A
Atlanta optioned Petersen to Triple-A Gwinnett following Friday's 13-0 loss to Philadelphia.
Atlanta will replenish its bullpen by sending Petersen back down to Triple-A while recalling Kevin Herget. Petersen was recalled by Atlanta on Thursday, and across two bullpen outings he allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out three in 3.2 innings.

Kevin Herget RP | NYM
Braves' Kevin Herget: Added to big-league roster
Atlanta recalled Herget from Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday.
Herget will take the spot on Atlanta's 26-man roster vacated by Michael Petersen, who was optioned to Triple-A following Friday's 13-0 loss to Philadelphia. Herget was claimed off waivers by Atlanta in mid-May after he was DFA'd by the Mets. He's spent most of the season in Triple-A and has a 3.29 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 24:8 K:BB across 27.1 innings.
