Doval earned the save in Friday's 2-1 win at Kansas City while allowing one run on no hits and two walks over one inning. He struck out two.

After Ryan Walker had thrown 35 pitches over the previous two games and blown a save via walk-off homer Thursday, Doval was called upon in the ninth Friday. The former Giants closer looked rusty, as he opened the ninth with back-to-back walks. A groundout allowed both runners to move up a base, setting the table for a Garrett Hampson sacrifice fly to drive in the Royals' first run. However, Doval recovered to punch out the next batter, Tommy Pham, to end the game. Since being recalled from Triple-A on Aug. 24, Doval has pitched to a 7.36 ERA, 1.82 WHIP and 17:9 K:BB across 11 innings. He remains, at best, a secondary option for saves in San Francisco so long as Walker is around.

Martinez (10-6) earned the win Friday over the Pirates, allowing just two hits across six scoreless innings. He struck out nine.

Martinez was excellent Friday, recording a season-high nine strikeouts. The right-hander has now won four consecutive starts, allowing just two earned runs across 24.2 innings in that span. Martinez's ERA is down to 3.22 this season with a 1.05 WHIP and 113:18 K:BB across 134.1 innings. Martinez is currently in line for a road matchup with the Cubs next week, as he'll look to wrap up a strong finish to the season.

Hodge earned the save in Friday's 3-1 win over Washington, striking out a pair in a perfect ninth inning.

Hodge has been sharp since taking over the closer's role in Chicago, allowing just two runs over 11.2 innings while striking out 16. The 23-year-old right-hander now has seven saves with a 1.98 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 50:19 K:BB across 41 innings this season.

The Dodgers optioned Logue to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

After allowing four earned runs over two innings across two appearances with the Dodgers, Logue will head back to Triple-A following a two-day MLB stint. Ben Casparius was recalled from Oklahoma City in a corresponding move to fill the opening in Los Angeles' bullpen.

Brasier will serve as the Dodgers' opening pitcher for Friday's game against the Rockies in Los Angeles, SportsNet LA reports.

Brasier will pick up his third start of the season, but like the previous two occasions, he'll presumably work just one inning before turning the game over to the bullpen. The Dodgers recalled right-hander Ben Casparius from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday and could look to him for bulk relief work behind Brasier.

Banda (hand) threw a bullpen session Thursday and is scheduled to throw another one over the weekend, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Manager Dave Roberts said Friday that if Banda is able to get through his next round of mound work without any issues, there is a good chance he will be activated from the injured list when eligible Wednesday. The 31-year-old southpaw has been on the injured list since Sept. 10 due to a hairline fracture in his pitching hand.

Sewald (neck) played catch Friday and is scheduled to throw a bullpen session within the next few days, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Sewald has been on the shelf since Sunday due to an issue on the left side of his neck, and Friday marks the first time he's done any sort of throwing since then. It remains unclear if he'll be able to return to the Snakes' bullpen before the end of the regular season, but the team may know more once the 34-year-old is able to begin mound work.

Kinley was placed on the Rockies' 15-day injured list Friday due to right elbow inflammation.

Kinley's placement on the injured list will end his season, and he'll finish the year with 12 saves and 15 holds while recording a 6.05 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 72:33 K:BB over 64 innings. Kinley took over as the Rockies' top closer after Victor Vodnik landed on the IL in mid-August, but the latter figures to reclaim that role for the rest of the regular season with the former on the shelf. Right-handed reliever Jake Bird was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move.

The Rockies recalled Bird from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

The move corresponds with Colorado placing right-hander Tyler Kinley on the 15-day injured list due to right elbow inflammation. Bird has appeared in 32 major-league games out of the Rockies' bullpen this season and has registered a 4.95 ERA and 1.79 WHIP across 36.1 innings.

Sanchez (shoulder) will throw one inning or 25 pitches with Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Sanchez has been on the injured list since June 2 with right shoulder inflammation. He has tossed multiple live sessions since landing on the IL, and while he isn't expected to return in 2024, the 26-year-old right-hander will at least get some reps on a rehab assignment before the season is over. In his 14 appearances prior to landing on the IL, Sanchez had a 0-3 record with a 6.06 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 17:14 K:BB across 35.2 innings.
