Sammons allowed five runs on four hits across 7.1 innings of relief in Monday's 8-4 loss to the Guardians. He walked one and struck out five.

With Jack Flaherty scratched from his Monday start as the Tigers look to trade him before Tuesday's deadline, the team turned to Beau Brieske as the opener instead, with Sammons used in a bulk role. The 29-year-old found some success in his MLB debut, though he was ultimately done in by three home runs, including a three-run shot by Bo Naylor. While it's a nice moment for Sammons, he's unlikely to have much fantasy impact as an unheralded rookie in Detroit's bullpen.

The Reds acquired Junis, outfielder Joey Wiemer and cash considerations from the Brewers on Monday in exchange for right-hander Frankie Montas, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Junis will presumably join the Reds as a long reliever, though he has 111 career MLB starts under his belt and could be an option for the rotation later on this season if injuries test Cincinnati's starting depth. He's excelled over his 26 innings with the Brewers this season, posting a 2.42 ERA and 0.96 WHIP with 19 strikeouts over 26 innings in 10 appearances.

The Pirates acquired Beeks from the Rockies on Monday in exchange for left-hander Luis Peralta, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Beeks will head to Pittsburgh after compiling a 4.74 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with 38 strikeouts over 49.1 innings in 45 appearances with the Rockies so far this season. The left-hander has made the full-time switch to being a relief pitcher in 2024, going 9-for-16 on save opportunities while also securing five holds with Colorado. Beeks may serve in more of a middle-innings role after joining a more talented bullpen in Pittsburgh.

Yarbrough was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Monday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Yarbrough will be placed on waivers and if he goes unclaimed, he'll either report to Triple-A Oklahoma City or elect free agency. He is the odd man out on the major-league roster after the team acquired infielder Amed Rosario from the Rays via trade Monday. Yarbrough has produced a respectable 3.74 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 39 strikeouts over 67.1 innings in 32 appearances with Los Angeles this season.

The Rays acquired Flynn from the Dodgers on Monday in exchange for infielder/outfielder Amed Rosario, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Flynn will head to the Rays organization after producing a 4.95 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 50 strikeouts over 36.1 innings in 28 appearances out of the bullpen with Triple-A Oklahoma City this season. The right-hander will likely report to Triple-A Durham, where he'll look to impress in order to get his first taste of the big leagues with Tampa Bay down the road.

Scott will serve as the Astros' opening pitcher for Monday's game against the Pirates, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Scott will be making his first start in the majors since the 2023, when he opened one game apiece as a member of the Red Sox and Athletics. He'll likely pitch only one or two innings in what will be a bullpen game for the Astros after the team scratched scheduled starter Jake Bloss and dealt him to the Blue Jays shortly before first pitch. Across 45 outings this season, Scott has a 1.45 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 50:23 K:BB across 49.2 innings.

The Blue Jays recalled Francis from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Francis will start the second game of Monday's doubleheader against the Orioles. He threw 75 pitches in his last start with Buffalo on Wednesday and will be on normal rest, so Francis should be capable of handling a relatively typical starter's workload in Baltimore.

The Blue Jays optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Rodriguez was needed for a 37-pitch relief appearance in the Blue Jays' 11-5 loss in the first game of Monday's doubleheader against the Orioles, so he wasn't going to be available for at least a day or two. The Blue Jays will replace him with a fresh arm in Jose Cuas ahead of the second game of the twin bill.

The Reds optioned Zulueta to Triple-A Louisville on Monday.

Zulueta has made a nice impression during his brief time with the Reds, yielding just one run with a 4:2 K:BB across five relief innings. He has minor-league options remaining, however, and the team is taking advantage. Zulueta should be back with the big club sooner rather than later.

The Blue Jays recalled Cuas from Triple-A Buffalo ahead of the second game of Monday's doubleheader against the Orioles.

Cuas will return to the big club and be available out of the bullpen for Monday's nightcap. In his three major-league outings since being claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays on June 23, Cuas has allowed three runs on three hits and one walk while striking out two over two innings.
