Cano (3-2) allowed a run on one hit and struck out two over one inning Friday, blowing a save but earning the win over the White Sox.

Cano gave up a game-tying solo home run to Andrew Vaughn in the seventh inning, but the Orioles retook the lead in the eighth. Cano's allowed four runs over 3.2 innings across his last six appearances, adding two blown saves and two holds in that span. He has a 3.18 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 21:9 K:BB over 22.2 innings while picking up two saves, 11 holds and three blown saves. He's still part of the high-leverage mix, but his recent inconsistency may force manager Brandon Hyde to turn to another reliever for save chances if Craig Kimbrel is unavailable at any point.

Hader struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Friday's 6-3 win over the Athletics.

Hader has not allowed a hit over his last five appearances spanning seven innings, and he has a 12:2 K:BB with three saves and two wins in that span. The Astros are trending upward as well, which has given Hader more consistent work. The southpaw is at a 3.91 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 37:9 K:BB over 23 innings while converting seven of eight save chances this season.

Duran allowed a walk and struck out one batter in a scoreless inning to earn a save over the Rangers on Friday.

Duran worked around a two-out walk to finish off a 3-2 win. He'd been tagged with five runs in 2.2 innings over his previous three outings after beginning the year with a seven-inning scoreless streak. Friday's outing was his first scoreless appearance since May 12 and lowered his ERA to 4.22 alongside an 11:4 K:BB.

Urena (1-4) allowed three runs on nine hits and a walk over five innings Friday, striking out six and taking a loss against the Twins.

Urena turned in two straight quality starts before Friday's outing. He needed 95 pitches to get through five innings, though he managed to set a new season high with six punchouts. The 32-year-old righty has posted a 2.78 ERA through 22.2 innings since joining the Rangers rotation, and he's sporting a 3.53 ERA with a 30:14 K:BB through 43.1 frames overall. As of now, Urena's next start is expected to come in Miami.

Kimbrel struck out one batter in a perfect inning and earned a save over the White Sox on Friday.

Kimbrel needed just six pitches to finish off a 6-4 victory in quick fashion. After a shaky stretch, he's riding a 5.2-inning scoreless streak. During that span, he's gone 1-0 with three saves and two holds. The veteran closer dropped his ERA to 3.32 and has converted 11 of his 14 saves this season.

Blach did not factor into the decision Friday against Philadelphia, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk over 6.2 innings. He struck out two.

Blach survived a difficult test as the Phillies entered Friday with the fourth-best offense in the majors by wRC+ (116). Outside of solo homers allowed to Nick Castellanos and Edmundo Sosa, Blach fared well enough to produce his first quality start of the season. Over 27.2 innings this season, the Rockies lefty has tossed a 4.55 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 12:5 K:BB. Blach is tentatively slated to face the Guardians at home in his next outing.

Alvarado blew the save Friday against the Rockies. He allowed one run on two hits and no walks over one inning while striking out two.

Alvarado looked to be cruising to another save after striking out Jordan Beck and Hunter Goodman to start the bottom of the ninth inning. However, pinch hitter Jacob Stallings and his career .340 slugging percentage had different plans, crushing a 427-foot solo home run to hand Alvarado his first blown save in 2024. The flame-throwing lefty sports a 3.63 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB in 22.1 innings this season.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Friday that he expects Hamilton (illness) to be back for Sunday's series finale against the Padres, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Hamilton was placed on the 7-day COVID-19 injured list Monday, and the right-hander appears to have recovered from the illness. Over 19 appearances this season, Hamilton has a 3.18 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and six holds across 22.2 innings.

Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Friday that Smyly (hip) is likely to be activated from the injured list during this weekend's series against the Cardinals, Elise Menaker reports.

Smyly made a rehab start with High-A South Bend on Tuesday, throwing three perfect innings while striking out five. Despite the fact that Kyle Hendricks was moved to the bullpen and Jordan Wicks (forearm) remains on the IL, Counsell noted that he will use Smyly in a multi-inning relief role when he returns, rather than moving him into the rotation. Smyly appeared in nine games before going on the injured list, registering a 4.97 ERA and 1.34 WHIP over 12.2 innings.

Gallegos (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Saturday, Lynn Worthy of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Gallegos continues to progress in his recovery from a right shoulder impingement that landed him on the injured list May 6. A successful session Saturday could put the 32-year-old right-hander on track for a rehab assignment and a return to the Cardinals' bullpen shortly thereafter.
