The Angels selected Garrett's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.

Garrett signed a minor-league deal with the Angels shortly after the season began, and he's since posted a 2.45 ERA and 0.99 WHIP across 7.1 innings at Triple-A. He'll join the Halos' bullpen to replace Davis Daniel, who was optioned to Salt Lake in a corresponding move.

The Blue Jays recalled Pop from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.

With Yariel Rodriguez (back) headed for the injured list, Pop will return to the majors to provide additional depth to Toronto's bullpen. Pop accumulated a 6.59 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 13.2 innings with the Blue Jays last season, though he's fared much better this year in Triple-A, allowing two earned runs across 9.2 frames. He'll presumably serve in middle relief while in the big leagues.

The Padres optioned Cosgrove to Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday.

Cosgrove heads to the minors for the first time this season. With the Padres, he has allowed 14 earned runs across 12.0 innings in 2024. Last year, the 27-year-old posted a 1.75 ERA across 51.1 innings. The southpaw will look to regather himself in El Paso and find again what he had going last year. In a corresponding move, Yu Darvish was reinstated from the 15-day injured list.

The Diamondbacks transferred Nelson (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

The move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Brandon Hughes. Nelson is receiving additional opinions on his injured left shoulder and now isn't eligible to return until late June.

The Diamondbacks selected Hughes' contract from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.

Hughes had a terrific rookie season with the Cubs in 2022 but has struggled since then partly due to nagging knee issues. He's healthy now, though, and earned a promotion after allowing four runs (three earned) over 14.2 frames with Reno.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Kimbrel is receiving treatment for his back, and it's unclear if the closer will be available for Tuesday's game against the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The 35-year-old was labeled day-to-day after he exited Sunday's game against the A's with back tightness, and his availability for Tuesday remains up in the air. Yennier Cano is the likely candidate to step in for a save chance should Kimbrel be unavailable, although Danny Coulombe got the save Monday.

Chargois (neck) suffered a setback while on a rehab assignment, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Chargois had made three rehab appearances with Triple-A Jacksonville but evidently is having issues with his neck again. The reliever has been out all season and also missed most of spring training due to neck spasms. It's not clear how long he might now be sidelined.

The Rockies transferred Gilbreath (elbow/shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Gilbreath had seemed close to completing the long road back from Tommy John surgery, but now he's developed a shoulder issue. It's not clear how long he might be out, but he won't be eligible to return until late May.

Sanchez is slated to serve as the Marlins' opening pitcher for Tuesday's game against the Rockies in Miami, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Sanchez will be making his second straight appearance as an opener after working a season-high 2.2 innings while allowing three earned runs on five hits and one walk in a no-decision against Atlanta last Wednesday. He draws a less challenging assignment Tuesday, but Sanchez is still unlikely to be called upon to cover more than three or four innings before he turns the game over to the bullpen. The Marlins don't have an obvious candidate in their bullpen to piggyback Sanchez, making it difficult to target any Miami pitcher as a streaming option for Tuesday.

Jax will likely shift into a setup role since the Twins reinstated Jhoan Duran (oblique) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Jax pitched well as the fill-in closer to begin the season with four saves, a 2.25 ERA and 17:4 K:BB across 12 innings, but it appears his time in the role is now up. The right-hander should still see plenty of high-leverage opportunities as a setup man, but his fantasy utility will likely be minimal while Duran is healthy.
