The Red Sox recalled Gamboa from Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday.

Gamboa will give Boston a fresh arm capable of covering multiple innings out of the bullpen after the Red Sox needed five relievers to cover the final five frames of Tuesday's 8-1 loss to Washington. Connelly Early was lifted from his start Tuesday after experiencing elbow discomfort and was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

The Red Sox activated Moran (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Moran will rejoin the Boston bullpen after a month-long stint on the shelf while he recovered from left elbow inflammation. He looked sharp over a pair of rehab appearances with Triple-A Worcester last week, racking up four strikeouts across three scoreless frames. Moran should settle back into a middle-relief or setup role with Boston after producing a 3.00 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 38:15 K:BB in 33 innings prior to landing on the IL.

The Orioles optioned Walker to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday.

Walker had been recalled Monday and pitched each of the last two days, allowing one run over two frames. The lefty has logged a 4.28 ERA and 32:9 K:BB across 27.1 innings at Norfolk this season.

The Orioles recalled Weston from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday.

Weston made a scoreless relief appearance in his major-league debut last month and is now back for another opportunity. The 25-year-old has an ugly 7.23 ERA with 24 walks over 37.1 innings with Norfolk but has also struck out 53 during that time.

The Red Sox designated Kahnle for assignment Wednesday.

Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com relayed after Tuesday's 8-1 loss to the Nationals that Kahnle would be DFA'd, and the move has now been made officially after Boston acquired infielder Brett Harris in a trade to take the reliever's spot on the 40-man roster. After signing a minor-league deal with Boston late in spring training, Kahnle moved up to the big leagues on June 4 and turned in an 8.00 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and 5:6 K:BB across nine innings over eight appearances out of the bullpen.

Wesneski (elbow) began a rehab assignment with the Astros' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate Tuesday, allowing one hit and no walks over three scoreless innings while striking out one batter.

Wesneski retired nine of the 10 batters he faced in the 25-pitch appearance. It's a big step as the right-hander continues to work his way back from May 2025 Tommy John surgery. Wesneski will likely need to use most, if not all, of his 30 rehab days, setting him up to rejoin the Astros' active roster around Aug. 1.

The White Sox optioned Schweitzer to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.

He's being booted from the active roster to make space for Noah Schultz, who returns from the injured list to start Wednesday's game versus the Orioles. Schweitzer notched his first career save Tuesday in Baltimore, tossing four scoreless innings while finishing off a victory.

Latz struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Tuesday to record his 18th save of the season in a 4-2 win over the Guardians.

The southpaw continues to dominate as the Rangers' closer. Latz was scored upon in only one of 12 June appearances, posting a 1.13 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 19:4 K:BB over 16 innings on the month while converting all 11 of his save chances. Despite not picking up his first save until late April, Latz sits third in the AL in the category, behind Cleveland's Cade Smith (26) and Tampa Bay's Bryan Baker (21).

Gordon (0-2) took the loss against Miami on Tuesday, allowing five runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out four batters over five innings.

Gordon was able to return to action and throw 74 pitches after missing nearly a month due to a hip impingement. However, the right-hander found the sledding very tough, as he was tagged for four extra-base hits, the most damaging of which was a three-run homer by Javier Sanoja. The rough outing pushed Gordon's season ERA up to an ugly 6.69 to go along with a 1.59 WHIP over 89.1 innings. He's clearly struggled to get batters out, but the Rockies don't have many other rotation options, especially with Tomoyuki Sugano currently dealing with a finger injury.

Hader earned a save against the Twins on Tuesday, striking out two batters in a perfect inning of work.

Hader was unsurprisingly called upon in the ninth inning with Houston holding a two-run lead. The veteran closer made quick work of Minnesota, notching a pair of punchouts while retiring the side in order on nine pitches. Hader didn't pitch for the Astros until June 3, but he hasn't wasted any time reminding everyone that he's still one of MLB's top closers. He's gone 8-for-8 on save chances so far while giving up only one run and posting a 21:5 K:BB over 13 innings spanning 13 appearances.
