The Cardinals reinstated Helsley (forearm) from the 60-day injured list Friday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Helsley landed on the injured list in mid-June with a right forearm strain. Given that he has been sidelined for nearly three months and performed poorly (4 ER over 4.1 IP) during his rehab assignment, the Cardinals will likely limit him to a lower-leverage role out of the gate. Brendan Donovan (elbow) was moved to the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Toronto activated Green (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Friday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports.

Green is recovered from Tommy John surgery and all set to make his Blue Jays debut after working to a 1.46 ERA and 15:1 K:BB in 12.1 minor-league rehab innings between Low-A Dunedin and Triple-A Buffalo. The hard-throwing 32-year-old right-hander could work his way into a high-leverage bullpen role while Erik Swanson (back) is sidelined.

Barlow was designated for assignment by the Royals on Friday.

Barlow has been lit up for 16 runs -- 13 earned -- in 12.2 innings of relief at the Triple-A level since the Royals claimed him off waivers from the Rangers in early August. The 27-year-old is off the 40-man roster and back in DFA limbo.

Kansas City recalled McArthur from Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

McArthur has given up 12 earned runs through his first seven major-league innings this season. The 26-year-old right-hander figures to operate in a low-leverage role as he gets another look in the Royals' bullpen.

The Brewers recalled Andrews from Triple-A Nashville on Friday.

Andrews has been solid out of the bullpen with a 2.57 ERA and 1.27 WHIP through 49 innings with Nashville, but he got hit around badly for five runs in just two-thirds of an inning during his big-league debut July 1. He'll offer depth to Milwaukee's bullpen as the Brewers push for a division title, but Andrews will likely be limited to low-leverage outings.

The Angels recalled Wantz from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.

Wantz returns to the majors as a middle-relief option with rosters expanding to 28. The right-hander has registered a 4.56 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 22:9 K:BB through 23.2 big-league innings this year.

The Pirates reinstated Kranick (elbow) from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday.

Kranick has spent all season on the IL while working his way back from Tommy John surgery, which he underwent last June. The right-hander most recently made the fourth appearance of his rehab assignment Wednesday with Indianapolis and will stick around with the affiliate now that he's been activated. Kranick has covered between one and three innings in each of his rehab appearances thus far, so he could be deployed as a multi-inning reliever at Indianapolis rather than as a traditional starter.

The Angels recalled Reyes from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.

Reyes has allowed six runs (five earned) in 6.2 major-league innings this season, but the Angels need bullpen depth after Matt Moore, Dominic Leone and Reynaldo Lopez were claimed off waivers.

The Angels recalled Ingram from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.

Ingram has allowed four earned runs on five hits and two walks across his first 2.1 major-league innings (two appearances) this season. The 26-year-old left-hander figures to work in a low-leverage role.

The Pirates reinstated Mlodzinski (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Friday.

Mlodzinski landed on the injured list Aug. 12 with a sore right elbow, and he'll rejoin Pittsburgh's bullpen after just one rehab appearance. The 24-year-old righty threw one inning during that assignment, allowing one unearned run on two hits and a walk while striking out a batter. He's been fairly reliable out of the bullpen for Pittsburgh when healthy and could be a source of holds during the final month of the season.
