Uceta cleared waivers Friday and was sent outright to Triple-A Iowa, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The Cubs claimed Uceta off waivers from the Mets last week and immediately optioned him to Triple-A. He'll remain in the Cubs' farm system but lose his spot on the 40-man roster. The 25-year-old righty has surrendered six runs in 5.2 Triple-A innings this season.

Cleveland optioned Herrin to Triple-A Columbus on Friday.

Herrin has struggled to a 5.53 ERA and 1.48 WHIP across his first 27.2 major-league innings this season. Cody Morris is up from Columbus to fill the vacant spot in the Guardians' bullpen.

Morris will join the Guardians' bullpen ahead of Friday's series opener in Toronto. The 26-year-old right-hander has surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and two walks in just four major-league innings this season.

Kansas City recalled Snider from Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

Snider has allowed four earned runs over 4.2 major-league innings this season, and his minor-league numbers aren't much better, but the Royals need a fresh bullpen arm after having to place Taylor Clarke on the family medical emergency list.

Kansas City placed Clarke on the family medical emergency list Friday.

Clarke will be away from the Royals for at least part of their three-game weekend series in Seattle. Collin Snider has been recalled in a corresponding move.

Boston claimed Weiss off waivers from the Angels on Friday and optioned him to Triple-A Worcester.

Weiss was designated for assignment by the Angels on Tuesday and has found a new home in the Red Sox system. The 31-year-old reliever owns a career 5.79 ERA in only 18.2 total innings of work at the major-league level.

The Marlins placed Soriano on the paternity list Friday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Soriano will be allowed to miss up to three games while he spends time with his growing family. JT Chargois (ribs) was activated from the 15-day injured list to fill Soriano's spot on the roster.

Chargois landed on the IL on Aug. 5 due to a strained right rib cage. He holds a 3.60 ERA and 1.20 WHIP since the beginning of July and will likely continue to serve in middle relief. George Soriano was placed on the paternity list in a corresponding move.

The Rockies designated Bruihl for assignment Friday.

Since being acquired from the Dodgers ahead of the trade deadline, Bruihl has surrendered six runs in just 3.2 frames with the Rockies. As a result, he'll be cast off the 40-man roster and replaced in the bullpen by Evan Justice, who was selected from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

Suarez was suspended 10 games Friday for the alleged use of foreign substances on the mound during Wednesday's win over Miami, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Suarez will appeal the decision and remain active until the appeal is heard. The 32-year-old reliever was ejected prior to appearing in the eighth inning of Wednesday's contest after umpires determined his left arm was too sticky. Suarez has been adamant that what the umpires found was just sunscreen.
