Young was removed in the eighth inning of his relief appearance in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Nationals due to back spasms, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Young faced three batters, striking out one and allowing one run on one hit and one walk in the 16-pitch appearance. The Reds will likely wait a day or two and see how he recovers from the back issue before determining whether or not Young requires a stint on the 15-day injured list.

Morejon (knee) kicked off a minor-league rehab assignment with the Padres' Arizona Complex League club Friday, striking out two batters in one scoreless inning.

Morejon went on the injured list July 16 due to a right knee strain. It was the second significant injury of the season for the southpaw, who missed over two months to start the campaign with a left elbow strain. Morejon has been limited to eight big-league appearances this season, allowing seven earned runs and posting an 8:5 K:BB over nine innings.

Daniel (shoulder) began a minor-league rehab stint with the Angels' Arizona Complex League team Aug. 1, and he's thus far allowed one run on four hits and posted a 9:0 K:BB over five innings spanning two starts.

Daniel opened the regular season on the 60-day IL due to a right shoulder strain, and he only recently began pitching in minor-league games. The results have so far been impressive despite the level of competition, and in Daniel's most recent outing he struck out seven batters in three scoreless frames. The 26-year-old has been a starter throughout his minor-league tenure, but he'd likely work out of the bullpen if given the chance to make his major-league debut before the end of the current campaign.

Marte (elbow) begin a rehab assignment with the Angels' Arizona Complex League club July 22, and he's thus far allowed two runs and posted a 4:2 K:BB over 2.2 innings across three appearances.

Marte has been on the 60-day IL since before the start of the regular season due to a right elbow stress reaction. The righty reliever appears to be working through his rehab stint slowly, as he has had at least three days off between each of his outings thus far. Marte has allowed 13 earned runs over 15 career major-league innings spanning the past two campaigns, so he's not a lock to pitch for the Angels this season even after he's fully recovered from the injury.

Young was removed in the eighth inning of Sunday's game against the Nationals with an apparent injury, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Young entered the contest in the top of the eighth and was expected to work for the entire inning, but he was pulled from the contest after issuing a leadoff walk and then striking out a batter. He appeared to suffer an injury on his final pitch of the day, but the Reds haven't provided a diagnosis yet.

Joyce (elbow) has been playing catch but hasn't thrown off a mound recently, MLB.com reports.

Joyce tossed from a mound July 18 while rehabbing in Arizona, his first time doing so since going on the injured list June 10. However, the rookie reliever was pulled back from mound work soon thereafter, and he's again throwing only from flat ground. It's unclear if Joyce has experienced a significant setback, but even if the slowing down in his throwing progression was only precautionary, he's expected to be at least two weeks away from being ready to return to the Angels.

Curry didn't factor into the decision in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the White Sox after allowing two runs on four hits over five innings. He struck out four.

Curry turned in an efficient effort, worked through five innings on just 65 pitches (45 strikes). He allowed a pair of runs in the opening inning before dealing four scoreless frames and exiting with a 3-2 lead before the White Sox rallied for three runs in the top of the ninth. A reliever for most of the season, Curry has now made four starts and appears likely to stick in the rotation while Cal Quantrill (shoulder), Triston McKenzie (elbow) and Shane Bieber (elbow) are all sidelined for the foreseeable future. Overall, Curry is 3-1 with an impressive 2.95 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 45:17 K:BB across 64 innings this season. His next start is expected to come in a tough road matchup with the Rays next weekend.

Clase (1-6) blew the save and took the loss in Sunday's 5-3 loss against the White Sox. He allowed three unearned runs on three hits while striking out three over an inning.

After allowing a pair of singles to lead off the ninth inning, Clase struck out the next two White Sox as it appeared he would work out of the jam. However, a pair of errors allowed Chicago to tie the game 3-3 before Elvis Andrus drove in two more runs with a base hit, handing Clase and the Guardians a 5-3 loss. It's the first blown save for Clase since July 7 -- since then, he's thrown 10 innings without allowing an earned run, striking out 10 in that span. The 25-year-old right-hander is now 29-for-37 in save opportunities this season with a 2.84 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 47:13 K:BB across 50.2 innings.

Lambert picked up the save Sunday against the Guardians, working around a hit in a scoreless inning.

After the White Sox rallied to take the lead in the ninth inning, Lambert came in to protect a two-run advantage in the bottom half of the frame, closing out the Guardians to earn his first career save. It was just Lambert's second appearance since he was recalled from Triple-A earlier in the week. The 28-year-old right-hander now sports a 5.60 ERA with a 1.68 WHIP and 31:15 K:BB across 27.1 innings this season. The back of the White Sox bullpen is certainly a question mark, though Lambert still seems an unlikely option for regular save opportunities.

Lopez (personal) was placed on the bereavement list Sunday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Lopez recently had a death in the family, so he'll step away from the team for a few days. Players can be on the bereavement list for 3-to-7 days, so the right-hander should be back with the Angels sometime this week.
