Barlow was designated for assignment by the Rangers on Sunday.

The right-hander was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock in early July and has now lost his place on the Rangers' 40-man roster. Barlow tallied 13 saves for Texas last season but had a 4.66 ERA this year before being demoted, and he wasn't particularly impressive at Triple-A with a 4.21 ERA and 1.39 WHIP in 20 outings.

Gallegos struck out two in two perfect innings to earn the hold during Sunday's 3-0 win over the Cubs.

Gallegos worked in the seventh and eighth innings during Sunday's series finale against the Cubs, but he'll likely see increased save opportunities for the Cardinals after Jordan Hicks was traded to the Blue Jays on Sunday. Gallegos has converted eight of 13 save opportunities this year in addition to his 15 holds, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him as the Cardinals' primary option in the ninth inning down the stretch. JoJo Romero picked up his first career save against the Cubs on Sunday.

White was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Sunday.

The 28-year-old has a 7.11 ERA over 10 outings for Toronto this season, and he lost his spot on the 26-man and 40-man rosters in order to clear space for trade-acquisition Jordan Hicks. White had a 3.66 ERA across 46.2 innings for the Dodgers in 2021 but has been unable to replicate that form over the past two seasons.

The Dodgers optioned Miller to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.

Miller lost his spot on the 26-man roster to right-hander Lance Lynn, whom the Dodgers acquired in a trade with the White Sox on Friday. During his brief stay with Los Angeles, Miller made one two-inning appearance out of the bullpen, giving up two earned runs on three hits and one walk.

The Rangers traded King, Thomas Saggese and Tekoah Roby to the Cardinals on Sunday in exchange for Jordan Montgomery and Chris Stratton, Jeff Passan of ESPN.comreports.

King made his big-league debut for Texas during the 2020 campaign and has a 4.27 ERA across 87 big-league appearances. The left-hander has given up 12 earned runs over 18.2 frames in the majors this season and posted a 3.32 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 13:6 K:BB over 21.2 innings at the Triple-A level.

The Cardinals agreed to trade Hicks to the Blue Jays on Sunday for an unspecified return, Craig Mish of the Miami Herald reports.

The trade return remains unclear, but Toronto wasted little time bolstering the back end of its bullpen after closer Jordan Romano (back) landed on the injured list Saturday. Hicks had a rough start to the season with 11 earned runs allowed in his first 14 outings, but he has a 1.88 ERA over 28.2 innings since May 8 and has been effective as St. Louis' closer over the past six weeks. The flame-throwing righty should be the favorite for save opportunities in Toronto while Romano is sidelined, though Erik Swanson and Yimi Garcia could also be in the mix.

The Orioles selected Krehbiel's contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.

Baltimore opened up space on the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster by designating Eduard Bazardo for assignment and optioning Tyler Wells to Double-A Bowie, respectively. Krehbiel is back up with the Orioles for a second time this season, but he has yet to make his 2023 debut for the big club after he went unused in his brief stint with Baltimore in early May. While spending most of the season at Norfolk, Krehbiel has pitched to a 3.00 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 25:17 K:BB in 30 innings. He'll likely be ticketed for lower-leverage duties out of the bullpen.

The Orioles designated Bazardo for assignment Sunday.

Bazardo will cede his spot on the 40-man roster to right-handed reliever Joey Krehbiel, who was called up from Triple-A Norfolk ahead of Sunday's game against the Yankees. Though Bazardo has posted solid ratios at Norfolk this season (3.05 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 43:11 K:BB in 38.1 innings), he struggled mightily over his three appearances in the majors prior to being optioned to the minors July 17.

Anderson was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.

The right-hander was optioned to Round Rock last weekend but will rejoin the major-league bullpen with Nathan Eovaldi (elbow) heading to the injured list. Anderson has a 5.20 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 26:7 K:BB across 27.2 innings for Texas this season.

The Giants recalled Beck from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.

Though he'll be joining the 26-man active roster as a replacement for injured starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani (elbow), Beck won't necessarily be the Giants' first choice to fill the opening in the rotation. After DeSclafani's injury kept him from pitching in Saturday's 3-2 win over Boston, Sean Manaea came on behind opener Ryan Walker to toss 4.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen, thus making Manaea the most logical candidate to enter the rotation when a fifth starter is next needed Thursday versus Arizona. Since Manaea won't be available for a few days, however, Beck will give the Giants some extra coverage in the bullpen in the meantime.
