May issued one walk in a scoreless inning against Colorado on Friday. He struck out one batter and picked up a save.

May worked around a two-out walk to shut the door in Friday's 8-5 win. All 10 of his saves have come since the start of June and he hasn't blown a chance since May 25. The 33-year-old now owns a 4.55 ERA with a 24:24 K:BB through 27.2 innings.

Alzolay allowed two hits over 1.1 scoreless innings Friday, striking out one and picking up a save against St. Louis.

Alzolay put two runners on base with no outs in the ninth inning but escaped with his 12th save of the year in a 3-2 victory. He's converted eight straight save opportunities since his last blown chance July 4. During that span, he's given up just two runs over 10 innings. Alzolay lowered his ERA to 2.33 and has a strong 52:7 K:BB through 46.1 frames.

Curry (3-1) took the loss Friday, allowing one run on two hits and three walks over three innings against the White Sox. He did not record a strikeout.

Luis Robert touched him up for a homer in the first inning. As has been the case for Curry in every outing since April, he was capped at three innings, but he did throw a season-high 54 pitches in this start. He's pitched well with a 2.98 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 57.1 innings, but in this role Curry's fantasy utility is limited to AL-only formats.

Santos picked up the save Friday against the Guardians. He allowed one hit while striking out two over a scoreless inning.

The hard-throwing right-hander completed the shutout and secured the win for Touki Toussaint. It was only Santos' second save this season, but both have come in July. Scott Merkin of MLB.com suggests Santos will be the new closer in the absence of Liam Hendriks (elbow) after Kendall Graveman was traded to the Astros on Friday. Keynan Middleton has also struggled lately, pitching to a 8.59 ERA in July.

Romano's lower back locked up on him during Friday's appearance against the Angels, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports. He gave up two hits and a walk in a scoreless two-thirds of an inning.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said that the team will evaluate Romano on Saturday morning. Romano's back was bothering him so much that he had to leave his appearance in the All-Star Game, but a subsequent MRI was clean and he's been able to manage the issue in the weeks since. Yimi Garcia replaced Romano in the ninth inning Friday and recorded the final out to secure the save.

Brieske will serve as the opener for Saturday's game against the Marlins, Paige Leckie of MLB.com reports.

Brieske debuted as a starter but has pitched exclusively in relief in the majors this season, maxing out at 20 pitches in an appearance. It's uncertain who will follow Brieske in Saturday's contest. The Tigers could make a roster move to add an arm like Joey Wentz, or they could go with more of a bullpen game instead of an opener-bulk reliever arrangement.

Scott left Friday's game against the Tigers with a mild right calf strain, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

The southpaw pitched two-thirds of an inning, getting charged with a run on two hits and a walk (JT Chargois allowed the inherited runner to score after Scott exited the game). Miami is downplaying the severity of the injury, but even a mild strain could threaten to push him to the injured list.

Antone (elbow) is expected to pitch for Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

After one more outing in the Arizona Complex League on Friday, Antone will move up the ladder as he continues to ramp up in preparation for a return to the Reds' bullpen. The right-hander hasn't pitched in the majors in nearly two years. He was showing real promise in relief prior to undergoing Tommy John surgery in August 2021, but given the setbacks and long layoff, he has to be considered a wild card to contribute to Cincinnati's playoff push.

Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre placed Krook on its 7-day injured list July 22 with an unspecified injury.

Krook is without a clear timeline to return to action for the Triple-a club. The lefty reliever has struggled in two appearances in the majors this season, allowing seven earned runs over three innings. However, Krook has impressed with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, posting a 0.70 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 46:18 K:BB across 25.2 frames.

Jameson (elbow) has elected not to undergo surgery on his UCL strain, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

It was reported earlier this month that Jameson was seeking a second opinion on his right elbow rather than resign himself to surgery. He apparently found a doctor who agreed that the rest-and-rehab route could prove beneficial. A procedure is often still necessary in these cases, but Jameson will try his best to stave one off.
