Nardi (triceps) struck out two over a perfect inning of relief in his first rehab appearance Tuesday with Triple-A Jacksonville.

Nardi has been on the shelf since July 4 with left triceps inflammation and could require another appearance or two in the minors before the Marlins are willing to bring him back from the 15-day injured list. Prior to being deactivated, Nardi compiled a 3.19 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in 36.2 innings while picking up two saves and seven holds.

Simpson (shoulder) struck out two and allowed no hits and one walk over one inning in his lone appearance since being reinstated from Triple-A Jacksonville's 7-day injured list Saturday.

Simpson was on the IL for nearly three months due to a left shoulder injury. The 25-year-old reliever has yet to make his MLB debut, but he occupies a spot on the Marlins' 40-man roster and could be in the mix for a late-season call-up.

Davidson was designated for assignment Thursday, Sarah Valenzuela of the Los Angeles Times reports.

New acquisition Reynaldo Lopez has officially been activated for the Angels' second game of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Tigers, so roster space needed to be created. Davidson has put up a 6.54 ERA and 31:11 K:BB over 31.2 innings in a long relief role this season.

Sulser (shoulder) shifted his rehab assignment to Triple-A Reno on Saturday and has made two appearances for the affiliate, covering two innings while allowing two earned runs on two hits and three walks while striking out three.

Sulser began his assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on July 4 and is nearing the end of his 30-day rehab window. The 33-year-old right-hander will likely settle into a low-leverage role out of the Arizona bullpen once he's brought back from the 60-day injured list.

The Tigers promoted Wingenter from Triple-A Toledo to serve as the 27th man for Thursday's doubleheader against the Angels.

Wingenter hasn't performed very well in the majors this season, putting up an 8.31 ERA and 1.62 WHIP through 4.1 innings, and he has similar numbers in the minors as well. The 29-year-old righty will almost certainly return to Toledo after the end of Game 2.

Zuniga (undisclosed) was reinstated from Triple-A Memphis' 7-day injured list Monday and gave up three earned runs on three hits and one walk while recording one out in his return to action Wednesday.

Zuniga had been sidelined for around six weeks with the injury before getting the green light to rejoin the Memphis bullpen this season. Though he was roughed up in his 31-pitch appearance Wednesday, Zuniga retains a spot on the Cardinals' 40-man roster and remains one of the organization's better relief prospects.

Diaz (knee) played catch at Citi Field on Thursday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Healy notes that Diaz was throwing from center field to the foul line in right field, a substantial distance as he ramps up his rehab program. The 29-year-old closer has stated that he wants to return this season from March surgery to repair a torn patellar tendon in his left knee, through he still has quite a few hurdles to clear and the Mets are currently 7.5 games back of the third wild-card spot in the National League. The Mets might rather have him focus toward getting fully healthy for spring training.

Peralta was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The White Sox need some roster reinforcements following the Lucas Giolito/Reynaldo Lopez trade. Peralta, 25, made one appearance with the big club earlier this season and holds a 5.34 ERA and 60:18 K:BB over 59 innings this year at Charlotte.

Pallante (3-1) allowed a run on two hits and a walk while striking out one over 1.1 innings to earn the win Wednesday over the Diamondbacks.

Pallante has had a rough July, allowing seven runs over 8.2 innings this month. The right-hander has been scored on in four of his eight appearances in that span, but he was able to emerge with his first win since May 13. He's at a 4.78 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 31:20 K:BB through 37.2 innings overall. Pallante has added nine holds and five blown saves, though he could move up the leverage ladder a bit if Jordan Hicks is traded before Tuesday's deadline. Giovanny Gallegos would have the most to gain in that scenario.

Peralta earned a hold over the Mets on Wednesday with a perfect inning of work during which he struck out two batters.

Peralta handled the seventh inning with ease for New York, punching out the first two hitters he faced and retiring the side in order on 15 pitches. The southpaw spent some time closing in mid-May but has primarily worked as the Yankees' top setup man this season, securing a team-high 14 holds while compiling four saves, three wins, a 2.31 ERA, a 1.21 WHIP and a 32:21 K:BB over 39 innings. Peralta is two holds shy of his career-high mark set in 2017 as a member of the Reds.
