White (0-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Dodgers, giving up an unearned run in the 10th inning in one-third of an inning.

Erik Swanson's implosion in the ninth sent the game to extra innings, and White couldn't keep Chris Taylor from crossing the plate as the phantom runner in the bottom of the 10th as he served up a walk-off double to James Outman that nearly left the yard in center field. White has a rough 7.11 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 13:7 K:BB in 12.2 innings since coming off the IL in mid-June, and the only thing keeping him in the big-league bullpen right now might be the fact that he's out of minor-league options.

Cabrera gave up one hit and struck out three across two scoreless innings Tuesday to record his sixth hold of the season in a loss to the Dodgers.

The southpaw has come out blazing to begin his tenure in Toronto's bullpen, posting a 4:0 K:BB over three shutout innings in his first two appearances. Cabrera had a 5.05 ERA in 32 innings for the Cardinals prior to getting DFA'd last week, but perhaps the Jays' coaching staff spotted a mechanical issue that they were able to fix quickly -- his fastball topped out at 97.5 mph on Tuesday, on a called strike three to Will Smith on his final pitch of the night. Cabrera could prove to be a huge addition to the setup corps in front of Jordan Romano if he's able to maintain this form.

Stewart (elbow) threw a 15-pitch bullpen session Wednesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Stewart said afterward that his elbow didn't bother him during the workout, so he'll plan to throw another bullpen session Saturday before the Twins determine his next steps. The right-hander remains without a definitive target date for his return from the 15-day injured list, but he appears to progressing well in his recovery.

Ferrer (1-0) picked up the win Tuesday against the Rockies, allowing one run on three hits over 1.2 innings of relief. He struck out two without walking a batter.

The southpaw wasn't exactly dominant, but he was the pitcher of record when the Nationals mounted a four-run comeback in the bottom of the eighth inning. Ferrer has been tagged for runs in four of his last six appearances and now has a bloated 5.59 ERA and 1.97 WHIP in his first 9.2 big-league innings.

Willingham was optioned to Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

Willingham will head back to Rochester exactly one month after being called up. He produced a bloated 11.00 ERA and 2.11 WHIP with five strikeouts over nine innings in nine appearances with the Nationals. Washington selected Andres Machado's contract from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Pivetta (7-5) picked up the win Tuesday in a 7-1 victory over Atlanta, allowing three hits and a walk over five scoreless innings of relief. He struck out five.

The right-hander continues to thrive as a primary pitcher. Pivetta took over from John Schreiber in the second inning and fired 56 of 80 pitches for strikes against one of baseball's hottest offenses, extending his shutout streak to 12 innings over three appearances in the process. Since getting stretched back out for a long-relief role in mid-June, Pivetta has gone 4-1 with a 1.63 ERA, 0.65 WHIP and incredible 44:8 K:BB through 27.2 innings, and the Red Sox aren't likely to mess with a good thing by moving him back into a proper rotation spot.

Machado had his contract selected from Triple-A Rochester by the Nationals on Wednesday, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

Machado will last appeared in a major-league contest in early June, but he will now return to the big-league bullpen. The right-hander owns an inflated 8.47 ERA and 1.76 WHIP with 12 strikeouts over 17 innings in 14 appearances with Washington this season. In order to make room for Machado on the 40-man roster, Victor Robles (back) was transferred to the 60-day injured list while Amos Willingham was optioned to Triple-A to open a big-league roster spot.

Loup picked up the save Tuesday against the Tigers, striking out two in a scoreless inning.

Loup was called upon to protect a one-run lead in the 10th inning after the Tigers tied the game against Carlos Estevez in the ninth. Loup got Javier Baez to ground out before striking out the next two batters, stranding the free runner at second and securing his first save of the season. The 35-year-old Loup's now delivered five straight scoreless appearances (four innings), lowering his ERA to 4.71 with a 1.50 WHIP and 28:11 K:BB across 28.2 innings this year. The left-hander will most likely work in middle relief for the Halos going forward.

Finnegan gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday to record his 14th save of the season in a 6-5 win over the Rockies.

The right-hander has gone 3-for-3 in converting save chances since Hunter Harvey (elbow) landed on the injured list. Finnegan's 3.16 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 41:14 K:BB through 42.2 innings on the season aren't elite, but he could still be of interest to a contender looking for setup help as the trade deadline approaches.

The Twins recalled Winder from Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday.

He'll be joining the Minnesota bullpen as a replacement for Oliver Ortega, who was optioned to St. Paul after giving up three earned runs to take the loss in relief Tuesday against the Mariners. Winder has previously made four appearances out of the big-league bullpen this season, giving up three runs on eight hits and three walks over 5.2 innings.
