J.P. Feyereisen RP | LAD
Rays' J.P. Feyereisen: Set for another bullpen
Feyereisen (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Monday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
Feyereisen threw a bullpen session Friday and will continue ramping up his activity. He has been sidelined since June 3 and will likely require at least a brief rehab assignment before being activated. Prior to going down, Feyereisen had tallied a save and seven holds, so he will likely fit back into high-leverage situations prior to the close of the campaign.

Brandon Hughes RP | CHC
Cubs' Brandon Hughes: Notches second save
Hughes gave up a hit in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to record his second save of the season in an 8-7 win over the Brewers. He didn't walk or strike out a batter.
The 26-year-old moved into a high-leverage role this month, and Hughes has picked up saves in two straight appearances. Rowan Wick had worked in back-to-back games when Hughes got his first save Thursday, but Wick was the more rested pitcher Friday, so the fact that Milwaukee had Christian Yelich and Rowdy Tellez due up in the ninth in this one likely played into manager David Ross' thinking when he called for the lefty. Hughes has better overall numbers on the season as well with a 2.95 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 49:13 K:BB through 39.2 innings, so this looks like a closer tandem for now, and he could even take over the job completely from Wick if the latter stumbles.

Keegan Thompson RP | COL
Cubs' Keegan Thompson: Early exit against Brewers
Thompson didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 8-7 win over the Brewers, coughing up five runs on six hits -- including three home runs -- and three walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out three.
The right-hander is fading fast after putting up good results in the rotation earlier this summer. Thompson has failed to complete five innings in four of his last six starts, posting a rough 6.59 ERA, 1.72 WHIP and 17:12 K:BB through 27.1 innings over that stretch, and his 2.6 HR/9 is a big reason why his numbers are regressing rapidly.

Daniel Bard RP | COL
Rockies' Daniel Bard: Strikes out side for save
Bard pitched a scoreless ninth inning with one walk and three strikeouts to earn the save in a 7-4 win over the Giants on Friday.
Bard racked up three more punchouts in a dominant inning of work to pick up his 25th save of 2022. The 37-year-old right hander is in the midst of his best season since 2010 and has the fifth-most saves in the National League. Even though Bard did not pitch in the majors between 2014 and 2019, he has redefined his career this season with an xERA/xwOBA in the 92nd percentile of MLB pitchers.

Jorge Lopez RP | WAS
Twins' Jorge Lopez: Notches 22nd save on double play
Lopez gave up two walks and struck out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save in a 2-1 win over the Rangers on Friday.
Lopez put two men on board in a one-run game but managed to escape the inning to notch his 22nd save of the season with some help from his defense. Brad Miller scorched a 103.8 mph line drive to right field that was caught for the second out of the inning. Right fielder Max Kepler then threw to second base to double off pinch runner Charlie Culberson who misread the play. Lopez now has three saves and two blown saves since coming over to the Twins at the beginning of August and has a 3.86 ERA in seven appearances during that stretch.

Victor Gonzalez RP | LAA
Dodgers' Victor Gonzalez: Moves to Triple-A for rehab stint
Gonzalez (elbow) joined Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday to continue his rehab, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Gonzalez actually kicked off his rehab stint in the Arizona Complex League, striking out two batters in a scoreless inning Tuesday. The left-hander was subsequently sent to OKC, though he's yet to pitch for the Triple-A squad. Gonzalez last pitched in the majors last August, so he'll likely be given ample time to ramp up.

Nick Vespi RP | PHI
Orioles' Nick Vespi: Awarded win Friday
Vespi (5-0) allowed a run on three hits in one inning but collected the win Friday over the Red Sox. He did not walk or strike out a batter.
Vespi was promoted to the majors earlier Friday and immediately got into a game. He was awarded the win after Keegan Akin allowed five unearned runs during a sloppy fifth inning. Vespi has been an effective middle reliever this year with a 4.22 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 24:8 K:BB across 21.1 innings while adding a save, a hold and a blown save. With the strength of the Orioles' bullpen, there's little chance Vespi moves into a high-leverage role during this stint on the big-league roster.

Josh Hader RP | HOU
Padres' Josh Hader: Struggles again Friday
Hader (2-5) allowed three runs (two earned) on a hit and a walk without recording an out Friday, taking the loss versus the Nationals.
Hader entered with the game tied at 3-3 and made a mess of it. One run came home on his own error, and he followed that by coughing up a two-run home run to Alex Call before Luis Garcia was brought in to complete the inning. Hader's struggles from the end of his Milwaukee tenure have followed him to San Diego -- he's given up six runs (five earned) while posting a 4:5 K:BB through 3.1 innings across five appearances as a Padre. For the season, he has a 5.06 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 63:16 K:BB while going 29-for-32 in save chances through 37.1 innings across 42 appearances.

Kyle Finnegan RP | DET
Nationals' Kyle Finnegan: Sharp in seventh save
Finnegan struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Friday's 6-3 win over the Padres.
Finnegan walked two batters in a scoreless inning for a save Thursday, but he was much sharper in Friday's outing. He's pitched four out of five days this week, striking out five and walking two while picking up three saves across four scoreless innings. The 30-year-old has a 3.26 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 51:17 K:BB with seven saves and 13 holds across 49.2 innings this year, though his recent workload may make him unavailable for a save chance if one arises Saturday.

Yency Almonte RP | LAD
Dodgers' Yency Almonte: Weeks away from return
Almonte (elbow) isn't expected to be activated until the second week of September, as his recovery is progressing more slowly than expected, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.
Initial reports on Almonte suggested that he wasn't dealing with anything serious, and an MRI on his right elbow came back clean. However, it's somewhat concerning that he hasn't been able to work his way back into action as quickly as expected. Almonte last pitched Aug. 3, so the updated timeline indicates that he's slated to miss over a month of action. The right-hander has been a pleasant surprise when healthy, posting a 1.15 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 30:10 K:BB over 31.1 innings while notching seven holds and one save.
