Diamondbacks' Christian Montes De Oca: Promoted to majors
The Diamondbacks selected Montes De Oca's contract from Triple-A Reno on Friday.
Montes De Oca has been brought in to bolster the Diamondbacks' bullpen after Joe Mantiply was optioned to Triple-A following Wednesday's game against the Giants. Montes De Oca started the year in Triple-A, and across 12 outings he has posted a 2.37 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB across 19 innings. He will have the opportunity to make his major-league debut during the Diamondbacks' weekend series against the Rockies.

Michael Tonkin RP | MIN
Twins' Michael Tonkin: Moved to 60-day IL
The Twins transferred Tonkin (shoulder/biceps) to the 60-day injured list Friday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Tonkin started the season on the 15-day injured list due to a right shoulder strain. He was cleared for a rehab assignment in mid-April and made six appearances in the minors, but his throwing program was paused due to right biceps tendinitis. Tonkin's lastest setback could mean that the veteran right-hander is on the shelf until the All-Star break. Ryan Fitzgerald was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move.

Elvis Peguero RP | CHW
Brewers' Elvis Peguero: Demoted to Nashville
The Brewers optioned Peguero to Triple-A Nashville on Friday.
With Rob Zastryzny coming over from the Yankees to bolster the Brewers' bullpen, Peguero will end up as the odd man out without a roster spot. The 28-year-old has given up four earned runs in just 7.1 innings this season, but he could be called upon later in the year if Milwaukee needs to add a fresh arm.

Rob Zastryzny RP | MIL
Brewers' Rob Zastryzny: Dealt to Milwaukee
The Brewers acquired Zastryzny from the Yankees on Friday in exchange for cash and selected him to the active roster.
Zastryzny has spent all of 2025 in Triple-A, where he owns a 4.50 ERA and 1.33 WHIP across 12 innings. He turned in better results with the Brewers last season, giving up one run in 7.2 MLB innings before having his season cut short in late July due to elbow tendinitis. He'll look to repeat his success as he rejoins the organization, replacing Elvis Peguero in Milwaukee's bullpen.

Scott McGough RP | ATH
Diamondbacks' Scott McGough: Recalled by Arizona
The Diamondbacks recalled McGough from Triple-A Reno on Friday.
McGough made one appearance for the Diamondbacks on May 3 against the Phillies, but he's otherwise spent the 2025 season in Triple-A, where he's posted a 3.55 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 16:4 K:BB across 12.2 innings. He'll provide depth out of Arizona's bullpen after Joe Mantiply was optioned to Reno in a corresponding move.

Frankie Montas RP | NYM
Mets' Frankie Montas: Cleared to face hitters
Montas (lat) will throw a live batting practice session Friday, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.
It appears to be the first time Montas will face hitters since he went down with a high-grade right lat strain in mid-February. The right-hander would appear close to a rehab assignment if all goes well, and the Mets have previously pegged early June as a possible return for Montas.

Nick Sandlin RP | LAA
Blue Jays' Nick Sandlin: Closing in on bullpen session
The Blue Jays are hoping Sandlin (lat) will be ready to throw a bullpen session Monday or Tuesday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Sandlin has been throwing on flat ground from 120 feet and is almost ready to test things out from the bump. The right-handed reliever has been sidelined since late April with a right lat strain.

White Sox's Tyler Gilbert: Exits outing with sore knee
Gilbert was removed from an appearance Friday against the Cubs due to left knee soreness, Kyle Williams of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Gilbert faced only two batters in the sixth inning, yielding a single and getting a strikeout before getting pulled. Consider the lefty reliever day-to-day for the time being.

Royals' Taylor Clarke: Goes on paternity list
The Royals placed Clarke on the paternity leave list Friday.
