Lynn (7-7) took the loss after he pitched five innings, giving up four runs on 10 hits and a walk while hitting a batter and striking out three Tuesday versus the Twins.

Lynn struggled to keep the Twins off the bases Tuesday, allowing double-digit baserunners for the second game in a row. He surrendered one run in both of the second and third frames before a Matt Wallner two-run homer knocked Lynn out of the contest with no outs in the bottom of the sixth inning. The difficult outing ended a streak of six consecutive quality starts for the 35-year-old. Lynn is currently projected to toe the rubber for the last time in 2022 on Sunday against the Padres.

Wentz allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four in five innings in a 4-3 extra-inning win Tuesday against Kansas City. He did not factor into the decision.

Wentz allowed a two-run homer in the second and an RBI triple in the fourth to account for the three runs against him. All five hits he allowed went for extra bases. The 24-year-old returned to the majors at the beginning of September and allowed just two runs in 16.1 innings over his first three starts. All in all, he has a 2.11 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 18:7 K:BB in 21.1 innings over four starts this month.

Dunning (hip) was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

It was announced over the weekend that Dunning would require season-ending hip surgery, so his move to the injured list was inevitable. The 27-year-old had a 4.46 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 137:62 K:BB over 153.2 innings this year, and it's unclear if he'll be fully recovered for the start of spring training in February.

Interim manager Miguel Cairo said Kopech (shoulder) likely won't pitch again this season, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Cairo said that with nine games left in the season for the White Sox, they have run out of time to get Kopech back to 100 percent. Rushing Kopech back for one start simply isn't worth it. The 26-year-old righty had a solid season, posting a 3.54 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over 119.1 innings.

Garcia will start Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Lance McCullers was scratched from his scheduled start with an illness. While Garcia is making the start as a fill-in, he is well rested, having not pitched since he threw five scoreless innings Sept. 19 in Tampa Bay.

It's unclear when McCullers will make his next appearance for the Astros, but Luis Garcia will start in his place Tuesday. The Astros only have four games left this week after Tuesday and a handful of well-rested starting options.

Watkins (5-6) earned the win Monday, allowing four runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out two in 4.1 innings versus the Red Sox.

A rain delay shortened Jordan Lyles' start, but Watkins was able to absorb some innings in a long-relief appearance. Dating back to before his call-up Friday, Watkins has allowed at least four runs in each of his last three big-league appearances. He's pitched to a 4.55 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 58:27 K:BB across 99 innings in 21 appearances (19 starts) for the Orioles this year, but it's expected he'll work out of the bullpen the rest of the way.

Gausman didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Yankees, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk over 6.1 innings. He struck out seven.

The veteran right-hander delivered his second straight quality start and 17th of the season on 94 pitches (68 strikes) in another impressive performance. Gausman's impeccable control remains his strongest asset -- he's walked multiple batters only once in 13 outings since the All-Star break, posting a 3.82 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 95:10 K:BB through 77.2 innings over that stretch.

Severino didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Blue Jays, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out four.

The right-hander ran up his pitch count and left the game after 76 pitches (49 strikes) in his second start since coming off the IL. Severino's workload was encouraging, even if his efficiency wasn't, and he figures to be fully stretched out for his final start of the regular season this weekend against the Orioles. Since returning to action, Severino has a 3.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 10:4 K:BB through nine innings.

Seabold allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out two batters over two innings in a no-decision against Baltimore on Monday.

Seabold's outing got off to an ominous start when Cedric Mullins opened the contest with a solo home run against him, and the rookie right-hander gave up four more runs in the second inning, though one was unearned. It was perhaps merciful, then, that a nearly two-hour rain delay interrupted the contest and resulted in Seabold's removal. With the poor outing, Seabold's ERA shot up to 11.29 on the season, and he's given up four or more earned runs in four of his five starts while completing five innings only once.
