Taillon did not factor into the decision Thursday, not allowing a run on four hits and a walk over six innings in a 5-4 victory over Boston. He struck out eight.

Taillon allowed two doubles, one from Tommy Pham and the other off the bat of Yu Chang. The righty has allowed one homer or more in eight of his last 10 starts with a 4.25 ERA during that span. Despite Yankee Stadium's short porch, the 30-year-old has had more success at home, recording a 3.47 ERA over 90.2 innings as opposed to a 4.42 ERA over 73.1 innings on the road.

Cueto (7-9) took the loss against Cleveland on Thursday, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits and one walk while striking out three batters over six innings.

Cueto had been dealing with an illness and hadn't pitched since Sept. 11, but he was able to go six innings and throw 91 pitches Thursday. While it was a positive that he appeared to be healthy, the veteran hurler received little run support and took his third straight loss, though he's tossed a quality start in two of those defeats. Despite a 7-9 record, Cueto has pitched pretty well this season, posting a 3.15 ERA and 1.22 WHIP over 145.2 innings.

Bieber (12-8) earned the win over the White Sox on Thursday, completing 7.2 innings and allowing two runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out five batters.

Bieber yielded a run in the first inning but didn't allow Chicago to get back on the scoreboard until Gavin Sheets took him deep for a solo homer in the eighth. The righty hurler ended up with his fourth straight victory and his 11th consecutive quality start. Over that 11-game stretch, Bieber has posted an impressive 1.75 ERA and 79:9 K:BB along with an 8-2 record across 77.1 frames.

Berrios (11-6) took the loss Thursday, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk over two innings against Tampa Bay. He struck out one.

Berrios surrendered a leadoff home run to Jonathan Aranda on just the second pitch he threw and it was mostly downhill from there. The right-hander would go on to allow two more runs in the inning and another three runs in the second inning before being replaced in the third. It was Berrios' shortest outing since his season opener April 8 in which he lasted just one-third of an inning, and it snapped a streak of three consecutive quality starts. He lines up to face the Yankees at home in his next start.

Perez allowed three earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five across six innings Thursday against the Angels. He did not factor into the decision.

Perez allowed all three of his earned runs in the third inning after allowing four consecutive hitters to reach base with two outs. He's had a few blowup outings since the All-Star break but has still turned in six quality starts in his last eight outings. For the season, Perez has maintained an impressive 2.90 ERA with a 164:61 K:BB across 183.1 innings on the campaign.

Lorenzen allowed three earned runs on two hits and two walks while striking out seven across five innings Thursday against the Rangers. He did not factor into the decision.

Lorenzen allowed one run prior to exiting the game in the sixth, though two inherited runners crossed the plate to sour his day. He managed 14 swinging strikes to back his seven punchouts, which marked his highest strikeout total in his last six starts. Since returning from the injured list Sept. 9, Lorenzen has a 3.06 ERA and 15:8 K:BB across 17.2 frames.

Eovaldi (shoulder) will make a rehab start Friday with Triple-A Worcester, Joe McDonald of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette reports.

The veteran right-hander threw 65 pitches over four innings during a simulated game Sunday and will now head to the minors for a rehab outing. Given Eovaldi should continue building up his workload Friday, if all goes well with Worcester he should be able to rejoin Boston's rotation next week.

Keller struck out two without allowing a baserunner in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Thursday against the Twins.

Keller entered the game with a three-run lead and didn't allow a ball out of the infield to record his first career save. Scott Barlow was likely unavailable after pitching both Tuesday and Wednesday, which gave Keller the spare opportunity. Since shifting to the bullpen Aug. 17, Keller has a disastrous 6.43 ERA with a 15:8 K:BB across 14 frames.

Kirby gave up five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out one over 2.1 innings in a 9-5 win Thursday in Oakland. He did not factor into the decision.

Kirby was in trouble throughout the start as he allowed multiple baserunners in each inning he pitched. He managed to keep a run from scoring in the first two frames but allowed six of the seven batters he faced in the third to reach safely with five eventually crossing home plate. It was his shortest outing of the season and just the second time in his last 13 starts that he allowed more than two runs. His next start will likely be in the middle of next week against Texas.

Kaprielian (4-9) earned the win Wednesday, allowing two hits and one walk over seven scoreless innings against the Mariners. He struck out six.

After giving up a single to Mitch Haniger in the first, Kaprielian allowed only two more batters to reach base through seven strong innings. It was the first time since July 23 that Kaprielian didn't allow a run, and he now holds a 1.38 ERA and 0.92 WHIP in two September starts. He'll look to carry that momentum into his next outing, which should come against the Angels in the middle of next week.
