Rodriguez underwent an MRI on his strained lat Tuesday which came back clean, Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Rodriguez was shut down with the injury in early June, and reports at the time suggested that he could be done for the season. His good news this week seemingly ups his odds of returning before the end of the year, though the Orioles didn't offer an official timeline for his recovery.

Frasso made his debut for High-A Vancouver on Monday and threw four hitless innings, striking out 10 with one walk.

As part of that effort, he struck out 2020 AL Rookie of the Year Kyle Lewis (who's on a rehab assignment) twice. This comes on the heels of Frasso being all but untouchable, if old for the level, in Single-A -- he put up a 0.70 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 42:8 K:BB across 25.2 innings before being promoted. All told, Frasso has pitched just 34.2 innings so far in his pro career since being picked in the fourth round of the 2020 draft, but he's given up only 16 hits while striking out 60 hitters. While he's still an older prospect at 23, Frasso's fastball is touching triple digits these days, so even if he ultimately can't cut it as a starter, he'll have a good shot at making the majors in a bullpen role. For now, he bears watching in dynasty formats.

Seabold was recalled from Triple-A Worcester and will start Friday against the Yankees, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

The 25-year-old returned to the minors after starting for the Red Sox last Sunday and giving up a run over four innings, but he'll quickly rejoin the big-league roster with Michael Wacha (shoulder) headed to the injured list. Seabold is unlikely to be in Boston's rotation for long since Chris Sale (ribs) is set to make his season debut Tuesday.

Wacha was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to July 5, with right shoulder inflammation.

Wacha has been unable to start this week due to a "heavy arm," and he's now been diagnosed with shoulder inflammation. It doesn't appear to be a serious injury, as up until Thursday the Red Sox still expected the right-hander to start Friday. He'll be eligible to be reinstated after the All-Star break. Connor Seabold was recalled in a corresponding move and will start Friday versus the Yankees.

Detmers was called up from Triple-A Salt Lake to start Friday's contest against the Orioles.

As expected, Detmers will be on the mound Friday night against the Orioles, returning to the majors after making one start at Triple-A. The left-hander struggled in his two starts prior to being sent down, surrendering nine runs over 8.2 frames while allowing four home runs. He will look to return to the form he flashed before that, a stretch in which he tossed 8.2 scoreless innings, when he toes the rubber on what also happens to be his 23rd birthday.

Verlander (11-3) earned the win Thursday, allowing one earned run on seven hits and two walks over six innings against the Royals. He struck out eight.

Verlander's eight strikeouts were his most since June 7, and he completed at least six innings while giving up one or fewer earned runs for a third straight start. During his current three-game win streak, he's allowed just 13 hits across 21 innings and has struck out 17 while walking four. Verlander's next start is tentatively scheduled for Thursday on the road against the Angels.

Bubic (1-6) took the loss Thursday, allowing three runs on four hits and six walks over 5.1 innings against the Astros. He struck out five.

Bubic struggled with his command, throwing just 57 of 98 pitches for strikes. However, he was able to avoid major damage until Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez each hit home runs in the fifth inning to give the Astros a 3-2 lead. Across 13 appearances, Bubic sports a 6.84 ERA with a 42:32 K:BB. His next start is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday's game against Detroit.

Detmers is listed as the Angels' starting pitcher for Friday's game in Baltimore and will be formally recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake prior to the contest.

As anticipated, Detmers will step back into the Anaheim rotation as a replacement for Michael Lorenzen (shoulder), who was moved to the 15-day injured list. Though he earned a spot in the Angels' Opening Day rotation and delivered a solid 1.10 WHIP among his first 12 starts of the season while also tossing a no-hitter against the Rays on May 10, Detmers was prone to the long ball (1.71 HR/9) and turned in a weak 18.6 percent strikeout rate. The lack of punchouts were a surprise for a pitcher who had been one of the minors' most prolific strikeout artists in 2021, but Detmers could re-emerge as an asset in that category as he makes his return from Triple-A. In his lone start with Salt Lake after being optioned June 22, Detmers struck out 14 over six innings. According to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com, Detmers worked with the Angels' minor-league pitching coordinator to tweak his slider, and the 23-year-old southpaw believes the success he found in his lone minor-league outing will set him up for success as he rejoins the big club.

Gonzales (5-9) earned the win over Toronto on Thursday, allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits over 6.2 innings. He did not walk or strike out any batters.

Gonzales surrendered an unearned run in the second inning and two earned runs in the fifth, but he allowed only one extra-base hit (a double) and made it through 6.2 frames on an efficient 88 pitches. Contact was the name of the game for the southpaw in the win -- he notched only two swinging strikes and didn't produce any punchouts for the first time this season. Per Daniel Kramer of MLB.com, Gonzales became the first Seattle pitcher in over a decade to toss a quality start without a walk or a strikeout. The veteran's lack of punchouts (he has just 49 over 94.1 innings on the season) is a detriment in fantasy, but he's nonetheless been a useful starter with seven quality starts over his past eight appearances.

Cole (8-2) allowed five earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out seven across six innings to earn the win Thursday against the Red Sox.

Cole surrendered a pair of home runs to Rafael Devers, which was almost enough for him to blow a five-run advantage. Cole was fairly strong otherwise, racking up 17 swinging strikes on 94 total pitches while also working at least six innings for his fifth consecutive appearance. Despite the bumpy outing, Cole still has a 3.26 ERA and a 124:29 K:BB across 99.1 frames on the season.
