Kaprielian will be skipped during the next turn through the rotation, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The Athletics have an off day Monday, which will allow the team to skip Kaprielian's turn through the rotation against the Astros. However, he is expected to make a start during the team's weekend series against the Angels. Kaprielian made his first big-league start Wednesday against the Red Sox and allowed only one earned run on four hits and three walks across five innings.

Seabold (elbow) is not throwing yet, but he is starting to feel better, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Seabold is dealing with elbow inflammation. The injury was expected to be minor, though he it appears it will still be a while before he is able to retake the mound for Triple-A Worcester. He posted a 2.25 ERA and 1.12 WHIP and a 30:10 K:BB across 40 innings with Double-A Reading in 2019.

Whitlock was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Saturday after feeling effects from the vaccine, Steve Hewitt of the Boston Herald reports.

Whitlock's absence should not be lengthy, as he can activated as soon as he is feeling well enough to pitch. He's been effective out of the bullpen this season for Boston, maintaining a 1.77 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with a 21:3 K:BB across 20.1 innings.

Kremer allowed two runs on five hits while striking out four over five innings in a no-decision against the Yankees on Friday.

Both runs Kremer gave up came off the bat of Aaron Judge as he was taken deep twice by the 29-year-old slugger. He otherwise didn't face too much pressure with the rest of the Yankees lineup, allowing just three singles while not walking a batter. Kremer remains winless on the year with a 5.81 ERA and will look to change that in a home matchup with the Rays next week.

Kluber (3-2) allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six over six innings as he was credited with a win against the Orioles on Friday.

Kluber got off to a rough start by allowing a first-inning home run to Austin Hays but was able to find a groove for the next few frames before running into more trouble in the fifth. The 35-year-old gave up three more runs on four hits and a walk to give the Orioles a 4-2 lead. He exited the game after the sixth with his team still down two but was able to sneak away with a win after the Yankees scored three runs in the top of the seventh and were able to hold on for a 5-4 win. Kluber struggled with a 5.40 ERA over his first four starts of the year but has turned it around by posting a 2.39 ERA in his last four outings while also picking up three wins in the process. He'll look to keep things rolling in a scheduled road matchup against the Rangers next week.

Flexen (4-1) picked up the win against Cleveland on Friday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk over 5.2 innings.

For the second time in his past three starts, Flexen did not register a single strikeout, but that didn't prevent him from earning his fourth win of the season. He limited Cleveland to only one extra-base hit (a double) and threw 56 of his 85 pitches for strikes. Despite a paltry 16.3 percent strikeout rate on the campaign, Flexen has pitched to a steady 3.46 ERA thanks in part to yielding only three home runs over 39 innings. He's lined up to next take the mound Wednesday at home versus Detroit.

Civale (5-1) took the loss against Seattle on Friday, completing 6.2 innings and allowing five runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out six.

The right-hander was tagged for a pair of home runs in the first three frames but subsequently settled down and held Seattle scoreless in the middle innings. However, he got into trouble in the seventh, allowing a pair of doubles that were ultimately both cashed in. Civale suffered his first loss of the campaign as a result, though he did tie his season high with six strikeouts. He'll carry a 3.40 ERA into his next start, tentatively scheduled for Wednesday on the road against the Angels.

Canning didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Red Sox, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out seven.

The right-hander delivered his first quality start of the season in his longest outing of 2021 so far, throwing 55 of 94 pitches for strikes, but Canning still exited the game in line for the loss until the Angels took a brief lead in the top of the seventh inning. He'll take a 4.78 ERA and sharp 37:12 K:BB through 32 innings into his next start.

Skubal (0-6) took the loss Friday as the Tigers fell 4-2 to the Cubs, giving up four runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out five.

The young southpaw continues to come up short in his quest for his first win of 2021, but he did toss 64 of 95 pitches for strikes in what was his longest outing of the season to date. Skubal will carry a 5.73 ERA and 31:17 K:BB through 33 innings into his next start.

Schmidt (elbow) has been playing long toss at around 100 feet, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.

Manager Aaron Boone indicated Friday that Schmidt is doing well, but the right-hander has yet to progress beyond long toss. The Yankees are likely to be cautious with Schmidt's recovery from a right elbow strain, though they still expect him to make an impact with the big club at some point during the season. He'll likely start the campaign at Triple-A when he's ready to pitch.
