Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Bullpen ruins solid outing against Astros
Stroman allowed three runs -- just two earned -- on 11 hits and two walks while striking out six batters through 6.2 innings during Sunday's loss to Houston. He didn't factor into the decision.
While the numbers don't jump off the page, Stroman left in line for the victory against a daunting Houston lineup, but Roberto Osuna allowed four runs in the bottom of the ninth to cost Stroman and Toronto the win. Stroman has now allowed just 13 earned runs through 52.1 innings over his past eight outings and sports an impressive 10-5 record, 3.17 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 7.5 K/9 for the campaign. A date with the Pirates at the Rogers Centre is up next for Stroman.

Jose Berrios SP | TOR
Twins' Jose Berrios: Offense paves way to 10th win
Berrios (10-5) allowed five runs on six hits and a walk while striking out six batters through five innings during Sunday's win over Texas.
There have been a few more ups and downs of late for the sophomore, but with 10 wins, a 3.86 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 8.3 K/9 for the campaign, Berrios remains a solid fantasy asset in all settings. He lines up for a road start against the Tigers next.

Jordan Montgomery RP | TEX
Yankees' Jordan Montgomery: Sent to minors
Montgomery was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.
As was previously reported, Montgomery will be dropped out of the Yankees' starting rotation as the team will move to a standard five-man staff following the acquisitions of Sonny Gray and Jaime Garcia. The 24-year-old posted a 4.05 ERA over his 21 starts this season.

Luis Severino SP | ATH
Yankees' Luis Severino: Dominates Indians to pick up ninth win
Severino (9-4) allowed one run on two hits and a walk over 6.2 innings during Sunday's win over the Indians. He struck out nine.
Severino has been on a tear since the All-Star break and showed no signs of slowing down Sunday. His biggest mistake came on a Michael Brantley homer in the first inning, but the Indians never really threatened to score after that. Following Severino's masterful outing against the reigning American League champs, the 23-year-old ace has now allowed just three earned runs while tallying 38 strikeouts in his last five starts (32.2 innings). He lines up for a matchup with the rival Red Sox on Saturday.

Carlos Carrasco RP | ATL
Indians' Carlos Carrasco: Undone by big inning Sunday
Carrasco (10-5) allowed five runs on six hits and two walks while striking out six over 5.2 innings during Sunday's loss to the Yankees.
Carrasco did well in limiting the Yankees to just three hits and no runs over the first five innings of Sunday's contest, but things fell apart for the 30-year-old in the sixth frame. Carrasco found himself in a bases-loaded jam with just one out before Chase Headley put the away team on the board with a sacrifice fly. After a walk to Todd Frazier, Jacoby Ellsbury blew the game open with a bases-clearing triple (albeit played poorly by Abraham Almonte) to drive Carrasco from the game. The veteran pitcher has now allowed 10 earned runs over his previous two starts (7.1 innings) and will look to improve upon his 4.06 ERA in his upcoming scheduled start against the Rays on Friday.

Lance McCullers SP | MIL
Astros' Lance McCullers: Not expected to return this week
Manager A.J. Hinch said Sunday that he had no update on the health of McCullers (back), suggesting the right-hander isn't in line to come off the disabled list when eligible during the upcoming week, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
The Astros inserted Brad Peacock back into the rotation last week after McCullers landed on the disabled list with back discomfort, a condition that had limited his effectiveness over the last several starts. While McCullers' injury isn't considered overly significant, the 23-year-old's checkered medical history will likely prompt the Astros to proceed cautiously with him. There's no definitive timeline for his return from the DL.

Jordan Montgomery RP | TEX
Yankees' Jordan Montgomery: Likely out of rotation
Montgomery is expected to be dropped from the rotation during the upcoming week with Yankees manager Joe Girardi likely to deploy a five-man starting staff, David Lennon of Newsday reports.
The trade-deadline additions of Sonny Gray and Jaime Garcia last week will leave Montgomery as the odd man out of the rotation, an arrangement the Yankees were eager to make happen due to their desire to limit the lefty's innings count in his first big-league campaign. Even though Montgomery was brilliant in his start during Saturday's win over the Indians, giving up one run over five innings and striking out seven, Girardi still chose to pull him from the contest after just 65 pitches. It's likely that Montgomery will head back to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in the coming days now that he's no longer needed in a starting role for the big club, but his workload could still become similarly restricted in the minors since he's already accrued 120.2 innings on the season.

Jake Odorizzi SP | TB
Rays' Jake Odorizzi: Starting against Red Sox on Wednesday
Odorizzi (back) emerged without setbacks from his Friday rehab start with High-A Charlotte, and manager Kevin Cash has announced he'll start Wednesday's game against the Red Sox, Bill Chastain of MLB.com reports. "I'm ready to go," Odorizzi said. "I will be back in there next time my spot comes up, so no more rehab starts."
The right-hander told Cash that he hadn't felt as good in quite a while, validating the decision to run him out against Boston in what will be the middle contest of the three-game series at Tropicana Field. Odorizzi has compiled a 6-4 record in 18 starts this season, along with a 4.47 ERA that serves as the highest he's generated in his Rays career.

Charlie Morton SP | ATL
Astros' Charlie Morton: Spins another solid outing
Morton struck out seven and allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks over seven innings in a no-decision against the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Morton posted a 4-1 record with a 3.23 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 9.4 K/9 through five starts since returning from the disabled list July 7, and Saturday's outing continued his strong work on the mound. He's established himself as a strong fantasy asset in the majority of settings, and it also helps that Morton is pitching for a contender. He lines up to face the Rangers at Globe Life Park in Arlington in his next start.

Paul Blackburn RP | NYY
Athletics' Paul Blackburn: Goes 6.2 scoreless innings in win
Blackburn (3-1) struck out one and allowed five hits over 6.2 scoreless innings to earn the win against the Angels on Saturday.
Blackburn continues to solidify himself as a productive starter in the Oakland rotation, lowering his ERA to 2.60 since joining the team at the start of July. He lasted a career-high 112 pitches Saturday and didn't allow a runner past first base after the second inning. Although Blackburn's 3.76 K/9 leaves much to be desired, his streak of success should give him plenty of starting opportunities heading into the homestretch of the season -- so long as the team doesn't have an innings limit. Blackburn lines up to face the Orioles at home next Thursday.
