  • Alex Cobb SP | DET

Rays' Alex Cobb: Dominates Angels in win Saturday

Cobb (8-6) surrendered just one earned run on six hits over 7.2 innings against the Angels on Saturday, picking up his eighth win on the season.

Cobb silenced the Angels' bats for seven innings, allowing only a solo home run to Luis Valbuena, before getting into trouble by allowing a double to Kole Calhoun and a walk to Mike Trout in the eighth. Reliever Brad Boxberger was able to quell the threat, however, before Jumbo Diaz slammed the door in the ninth. Ignoring a disastrous outing two weeks ago against Baltimore, Cobb owns a 0.90 ERA over his last four starts and leads the team with a 1.24 WHIP. Although his 5.85 K/9 leaves something to be desired, it's been a nice comeback season for the right-hander after he missed most of the past two years while recovering from Tommy John surgery.

  • Joe Musgrove SP | SD

Astros' Joe Musgrove: Takes loss against Twins on Saturday

Musgrove (4-8) gave up four earned runs on eight hits over five innings Saturday against the Twins, suffering his fourth loss in his last five outings.

Musgrove settled down after being victimized by a leadoff home run from Brian Dozier, only allowing the Twins to scrape a run across in the fifth on a double play. However, his luck ran out in the six inning, as he allowed a walk to Miguel Sano and back-to-back singles by Max Kepler and Robbie Grossman before being lifted. Reliever Tony Sipp promptly allowed a two-run double to Eddie Rosario, putting Musgrove on the line for the loss while raising his ERA to an unappealing 6.12. With Collin McHugh (elbow) set to return next week, it appears the young right-hander's next outing will either be out of bullpen or with Triple-A Fresno.

  • Wade Miley SP | CIN

Orioles' Wade Miley: Clobbered for seven runs Saturday

Miley (4-8) allowed seven runs on nine hits and four walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings to take the loss Saturday against the Cubs.

Miley gave up just a single run over the first three innings, but fell apart in the fourth and fifth frames, leading to his eighth loss of the season. As the owner of a 5.40 ERA, he's a difficult player to use with much confidence in fantasy leagues. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Rangers.

  • Luis Severino SP | ATH

Yankees' Luis Severino: Brings A-game to Fenway

Severino (5-4) allowed one run on four hits and a pair of walks while fanning six over seven innings in a no-decision against the Red Sox on Saturday.

Matching up with Chris Sale, the Yankees' right-hander was able to bring his best stuff to the mound and limit the Red Sox to just one run throughout the afternoon. He was particularly solid during six of his innings, but allowed two walks, an infield single and a sacrifice fly in the third, which caused his lone run to score. This marks the second straight impressive start for the 23-year-old, and he look to make it three in a row Thursday in Seattle.

  • Cole Hamels SP | SD

Rangers' Cole Hamels: Dominates over 7.2 innings Saturday

Hamels (4-0) struck out five over 7.2 scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Royals on Saturday, allowing just four hits and walking one.

Hamels handcuffed the Royals all night, cruising into the eighth inning before allowing a Whit Merrifield double on his 99th and final pitch. It marks the second consecutive start in which the southpaw has thrown 7.2 scoreless innings and lowered his ERA to 1.26 on the month while raising his K:BB to 12:1. The veteran starter has clearly regained his form after missing nearly two months with an oblique injury, a trend he'll look to build upon in his next scheduled start, Thursday against the Orioles.

  • Chris Sale SP | ATL

Red Sox's Chris Sale: Plagued by little run support Saturday

Sale allowed just three hits and two walks while tying a season high with 13 strikeouts through 7.2 scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Yankees on Saturday.

Sale was nothing short of dominant yet again, throwing a season-high 118 pitches, 85 of which were strikes. The southpaw has not received adequate run support recently; during his last four starts, the Red Sox have scored just 13 runs, with one apiece during his last two trips to the mound. During this particular outing, he handed the ball off to Craig Kimbrel, who wasn't able to close the door with a 1-0 lead. He now holds a 2.75 ERA with a WHIP of 0.90 and a remarkable 12.5 K/9. Sale's next start projects to be Thursday against the Blue Jays.

  • Angels' Parker Bridwell: Will start Sunday

Bridwell will rejoin the Angels on Sunday prior to his start against the Rays, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.

Bridwell was sent back to Triple-A Salt Lake over the All-Star break, but didn't spend any time on the mound during his stay. Instead, he will come back to the big-league team and slide back into the back end of the rotation moving forward.

  • Kevin Gausman SP | CHC

    Orioles' Kevin Gausman: Facing demotion

Manager Buck Showalter said sending Gausman to the minors is "always an option," but he didn't indicate whether it's close to happening, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

A trip down to Triple-A Norfolk can only help Gausman at this point. He's posted career-worst numbers across the board through 20 starts and 100 innings so far. Much like the Cubs' Kyle Schwarber, the O's right-hander can't seem to get on track at the big-league level, so there's no reason not to relieve Gausman of pressure while he works to right the ship.

  • Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL

Astros' Dallas Keuchel: Rehab start scheduled for Monday

Keuchel (neck) will make a rehab start with Double-A Corpus Christi on Monday, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Keuchel is set to toss at least two innings with Corpus Christi after pitching a simulated game Thursday. The southpaw has been out since the beginning of June, but appears to be nearing his return. Depending on the results of his rehab outing, Keuchel could make his next appearance at the major-league level, although it is likely that he will need at least two rehab appearances.

  • Brady Aiken SP | CLE

Indians' Brady Aiken: Nabs first scoreless outing of 2017

Aiken dealt six innings in his first scoreless outing of the season for Low-A Lake County on Friday.

The 2015 first-round pick is just 2-10 for the Captains through 18 starts this season, and his 4.10 ERA and 1.76 WHIP aren't indicative of much growth. With a 57:67 K:BB through 90 innings, Aiken most certainly won't move up the organization's minor-league ladder in 2017.
