James Paxton SP | BOS
Mariners' James Paxton: Activated ahead of Wednesday start
Paxton (forearm) was activated from the 10-day disabled list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Rockies, Bob Dutton of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
The Mariners sent reliever Ryne Harper back to Triple-A Tacoma to open up a spot on the active roster for Paxton, who has been sidelined since May 2 with a forearm strain. Paxton required only one rehab start to gear up for the activation, and though he only tossed 55 pitches in that outing, it's not expected that he'll face a strict pitch limit Wednesday. Prior to hitting the DL, Paxton had been the Mariners' top starter, compiling a 1.43 ERA and 45:11 K:BB over 37.2 innings.

Frankie Montas RP | NYM
Athletics' Frankie Montas: Touched up for homer in multi-inning outing
Montas gave up two earned runs on two hits and two walks over 2.2 innings in Tuesday's 9-4 loss to the Indians. He also recorded a strikeout.
The hard-throwing right-hander yielded a 404-foot solo shot to Jason Kipnis, the fifth round tripper he's given up in 26.2 innings this season. Montas saw a six-appearance scoreless streak snapped as well and surrendered multiple earned runs for the fifth occasion this season. While the 24-year-old continues to be work in progress, he offers above-average strikeout production for fantasy lineups as evidenced by his 9.8 K/9.

Joe Musgrove SP | SD
Astros' Joe Musgrove: Only expected to miss one start
Manager A.J. Hinch said that Musgrove (shoulder), who was placed on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday, is expected to miss just one start, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Musgrove endured no injury complications in his most recent start Friday against the Orioles in which he tossed seven scoreless innings, but after he experienced shoulder discomfort while throwing off flat ground Monday, the Astros decided it was best to temporarily shelve him. David Paulino was recalled from Triple-A Fresno to fill Musgrove's scheduled turn Wednesday against the Twins, but it should just be a one-time cameo in the rotation. Assuming Musgrove is able to throw over the weekend without any renewed soreness, he's expected to take the hill the next time his turn comes up June 6 in Kansas City.

Justin Verlander SP | DET
Tigers' Justin Verlander: Loses pitcher's duel Tuesday
Verlander (4-4) allowed only one run on six hits and a walk while striking out five over seven innings in Tuesday's 1-0 loss to the Royals.
It's the third time this season the veteran righty has fired at least seven innings while giving up one run or less, but remarkably he doesn't have a win in any of them. Verlander will get a couple extra days rest before taking the mound again next Tuesday at home against the Angels.

Jose Quintana SP | COL
White Sox's Jose Quintana: Loses third straight decision
Quintana (2-7) allowed seven runs on 10 hits while striking out four over 2.2 innings in Tuesday's 13-7 loss to the Red Sox.
Quintana put the White Sox in a big hole early and while the offense tried to keep up, the Red Sox bats were relentless (16 hits, six home runs). The left-hander was expected to become the staff ace in 2017 and bring in a similar haul in the trade market that former ace Chris Sale did during the offseason, but those plans have gone sideways. Quintana's allowed at least four runs in five of his 11 starts and will haul a 5.64 ERA into his next start, which could be Sunday in Detroit or next Tuesday in Tampa.

Chris Sale SP | ATL
Red Sox's Chris Sale: Escapes with win Tuesday
Sale (6-2) gave up six runs (five earned) on 10 hits and two walks while striking out nine in Tuesday's 13-7 win over the White Sox.
It's only the second time this season in 11 trips to the mound that Sale has failed to deliver a quality start, and the first time he hasn't lasted at least six innings, but the left-hander had plenty of margin for error with Boston's bats crushing six homers on the night. Sale's next start will come Sunday in Baltimore.

Parker Bridwell SP | LAA
Angels' Parker Bridwell: Solid in season debut Tuesday
Bridwell (1-0) picked up his first major-league win Tuesday, holding the Braves to three runs over six innings while striking out four.
The Angels acquired the righty from the Orioles in April, and he earned his first start after posting a 0.92 ERA in three starts with Triple-A Salt Lake. Bridwell didn't disappoint, throwing a quality start while displaying the control (56 of 92 pitches for strikes) he was known for in the minors. Unfortunately, he surrendered two home runs against the Braves, which is another one of his minor-league tendencies. The 25-year-old features several low-90s fastballs, a breaking ball and a changeup. With Alex Meyer (back) scheduled to return from the disabled list Thursday, Bridwell will likely be optioned back to Triple-A. Given the Angels' pitching struggles this season, the rookie could find himself back in the rotation when the need arises.

Jose Berrios SP | TOR
Twins' Jose Berrios: Struggles with control in loss to Houston
Berrios (3-1) gave up four runs on five hits, four walks and a hit batsman while striking out five Astros over five innings in Tuesday's 7-2 loss.
After posting a studly 22:4 K:BB through his first three MLB starts of the year, Berrios struggled mightily with his control this time around, needing 104 pitches to finish those five frames. One of the game's most promising young arms, he stumbled in his first taste of the majors last year, but he's come back with even better results in Triple-A and largely carried them over in his second MLB campaign. As with any young pitcher, there'll be some travails, but Berrios looks like he's going to retain fantasy relevance this time around.

Luis Severino SP | ATH
Yankees' Luis Severino: Strikes out eight in win over Orioles
Severino (4-2) allowed one run on seven hits and one walk across 6.1 innings in Tuesday's win over the Orioles. He struck out eight.
Severino was lights out for much of the night and gave up his only run as he worked out of a jam with the bases loaded in the sixth. He also displayed some of his best command of the season as he threw 73 percent of his pitches for strikes, induced 17 swinging strikes and reached eight strikeouts for the first time since May 7. Severino's latest in a string of strong outings has lowered his ERA to a sterling 2.93 and he will look to keep it rolling Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Dylan Unsworth SP | SEA
Mariners' Dylan Unsworth: Wins Texas League Pitcher of Week award
Unsworth received the Texas League Pitcher of the Week award after winning both of his starts last week for Double-A Arkansas while notching 12 strikeouts over 13.1 innings, Bob Dutton of The News Tribune reports.
The 24-year-old has generated just a 3-4 record overall across 47.0 innings for the Travelers, but he may be finally achieving some consistency. Unsworth has turned in three straight solid starts and lowered his ERA from 5.86 to 4.79 over that stretch. The right-hander posted a pair of strong efforts for Triple-A Tacoma earlier in 2017 as well, posting a 3.12 ERA in 8.2 innings across two starts.
