Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Orioles SP Kevin Gausman tagged for four runs in loss to Rays
Orioles starter Kevin Gausman allowed four runs on eight hits with six strikeouts and one walk in Sunday's loss to the Rays.
Gausman was not as sharp as his last two starts (one run allowed in 11 innings). It seems Gausman is much more comfortable at home (2.38 ERA) than away (6.00 ERA).

Jake Odorizzi SP | TB
Rays SP Jake Odorizzi survives with no-decision in loss to Orioles
Rays starter Jake Odorizzi had a rough Sunday against the Orioles but finished with a no-decision, allowing four earned runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings pitched.
Odorizzi's largest error came on a changeup that Chris Davis hit 10 rows into the stands during the third inning, but he did leave the game tied at four. The 25-year-old's three strikeouts is his lowest total since a July 17 disaster start. That, combined with all of his allowed hits, means he was lucky to escape without a loss.

Rich Hill SP | KC
Red Sox SP Rich Hill posts another double-digit strikeout performance
Red Sox pitcher Rich Hill picked up the win, throwing seven innings while giving up three earned runs while striking out 10 in Sunday's victory over the Blue Jays.
Making his second start of the season, Hill was once again electric, racking up double-digit strikeouts in both of his starts this season. With how well he's pitched in the past two starts, he'll likely continue to pitch through the rest of the Red Sox season.

Carlos Carrasco RP | ATL
Indians SP Carlos Carrasco K's nine but takes loss vs. White Sox
Indians starter Carlos Carrasco (13-11) took the loss in Saturday's 5-2 defeat by the White Sox despite striking out nine in five-plus innings. He surrendered four hits, three runs (two earned) and two walks.
The 28-year-old hard-throwing right-hander couldn't get by with just his wicked stuff on Saturday, although the performance did mark his second consecutive nine-strikeout outing. Carrasco had come into Saturday in good form, having posted quality starts in six of his previous seven trips to the mound, including back-to-back complete games during that stretch.
In spite of Saturday's setback, Carrasco has enjoyed a banner year, posting career-highs in wins, strikeouts, starts and innings pitched, and his current 10.3 K/9 rate ranks him among the best in baseball in that category.

Carlos Rodon SP | NYY
White Sox SP Carlos Rodon continues impressive run with win
White Sox starter Carlos Rodon (8-6) surrendered six hits, one earned run and a walk in 7 2/3 innings in Saturday's 4-3 victory over the Indians. He struck out four.
Rodon has now posted seven consecutive quality starts, and his sparkling 1.74 ERA in September speaks to the degree that he has stymied opposing batters. The young southpaw has also demonstrated improved efficiency and control in his most recent pair of appearances, only surrendering one walk in each.
Tellingly, Saturday's performance was also the longest Rodon has pitched into a ballgame with as few a number of pitches, with the 25-year-old averaging a bit over 13 offerings per inning (102 pitches total) against the Indians in just under eight frames. If he can continue to reduce the control problems that have plagued him in his young career, Rodon's potential for dominating performances appears to be substantial.

Sonny Gray SP | BOS
A's SP Sonny Gray falters again, gets no-decision in loss to Astros
Athletics starter Sonny Gray was fortunate to be credited with a no-decision on Saturday, as he allowed five runs on eight hits and four walks across 5 1/3 innings in a loss to Houston.
Gray continues to struggle and he may be losing his chances on an AL Cy Young crown. For those of you in the midst of your fantasy playoffs, Gray really let you down in a two-start week. Everything is falling apart for Gray, as he's allowing a ton of runs and not striking anyone out. Over his last eight games, Gray has just 31 whiffs. Considering how young Gray is, this may just be a case of too many innings and it's very possible Gray is wearing down. He could be in line for a bounce back next week though, when he hosts the Giants on Friday.

Vidal Nuno SP | WAS
Mariners SP Vidal Nuno suffers rocky outing in loss to Rangers
Mariners starter Vidal Nuno (1-3) had a rough outing on Saturday, as he allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits and four walks across 3 1/3 innings in a 10-1 loss to the Rangers.
Nuno had a sub 3.00 ERA coming into the game and left with a 3.64 ERA. His FIP indicated a regression coming, as it was above 4.50 coming into the start and this outing could've been seen from miles away as the Rangers are one of the hottest teams in baseball. With the mix-ups in the rotation, Nuno isn't expected to pitch until next Sunday against the Angels and that could be yet another rough game for the lefty.
-
Cole Hamels SP | SD
Rangers' Cole Hamels turns in brilliant outing in win over Mariners
Rangers starter Cole Hamels (4-1) was superb on Saturday, as he struck out 12 Mariners while allowing one run on seven hits in a 10-1 win.
Since the acquisition of Hamels, the Rangers are one of the best teams in baseball. This was by far the lefty's strongest performance for the Rangers and it comes as no surprise against a lefty-heavy lineup like the Mariners.
In his nine starts with Texas, he has gone at least six innings in each and Hamels is being the work horse that they were expecting. He'll look to continue his fantastic form against the Astros next Friday.

Wade Miley SP | CIN
Red Sox SP Wade Miley gets no decision in win over Blue Jays
Red Sox starter Wade Miley allowed two runs on three hits and five walks while striking out seven in 6 2/3 innings in Saturday's win over the Blue Jays.
Miley fought with his control, but kept the game tied before leaving with two outs in the seventh. It was his third straight quality start.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez to start Monday
Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez will make his next start Monday in Tampa Bay, Scott Lauber of The Boston Herald reports.
Red Sox interim manager Torey Lovullo said that Rodriguez will be limited to between 10 and 15 innings the rest of the season, which likely amounts to two starts.
The rookie has already covered 158 innings between Triple-A Pawtucket and the big leagues this season, but hasn't shown any signs of the workload overwhelming him. He struck out nine batters in just 5 1/3 innings his last time out against the Orioles.
