Orioles pitcher Kevin Gausman struggles in start Tuesday
Orioles pitcher Kevin Gausman surrendered four runs on seven hits, including one home run in Tuesday's start against the Rays.
Gausman also issued one walk and did not record a strikeout.
"I felt good," he said to MASN.com. "Stuff-wise, I was really good. I left a couple of pitches up. More than any of them, I left a slider up to (Desmond) Jennings for a base hit. Other than that, I felt pretty good. I thought I was hitting a lot of spots."
Gausman is competing with Ubaldo Jimenez for the final spot in Baltimore's starting rotation.
"Obviously, I'm not happy about the line, but I felt like I had good stuff. I commanded my off-speed pretty well. I think they just kind of came out hacking. I didn't really make an adjustment probably until the third inning and I got my ground balls, but just the way we were positioned, a couple of them were pretty tough plays to make. Just one of those days."

Tigers might have to put Justin Verlander on DL
Tigers manager Brad Ausmus indicated Tuesday starting pitcher Justin Verlander might start the year on the disabled list after leaving his last spring start due to a right triceps cramp.
"If we have to use it, we could," Ausmus said of placing Verlander on the disabled list, per MLive.com.
Verlander won't appear in another Grapefruit League game, but he could throw in a minor-league game Friday.
Although, if Verlander can't pitch Friday, then a disabled list stint could be coming. The Tigers would then backdate his time on the DL, meaning he could be available to make his season debut at the earliest April 12 at Cleveland.
"He says he feels a little bit better (Tuesday)," Ausmus said. "We'll see how he feels (Wednesday)."
There is no indication of a potential rotation replacement, if Verlander has to miss significant time. Verlander went 1-1 with a 5.63 ERA in five spring starts.
