  • James Paxton SP | BOS

James Paxton moved to 60-day DL

The Mariners transferred pitcher James Paxton from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL. Paxton has been sidelined most of the year with a lat injury.

  • Jose Quintana SP | COL

    Jose Quintana drops back-to-back decision

White Sox starting pitcher Jose Quintana dropped his second straight decision on Sunday against the Angels in Anaheim. The left-hander permitted four runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out four over 4 1/3 innings of a 4-2 defeat.

Quintana owns a 3.59 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP through 13 starts (77 2/3 innings). He will seek a bounce-back outing Friday at home against Kansas City. He is 1-1 with a 3.30 ERA in five starts at home this season.

  • Justin Masterson picks up second straight win

Indians pitcher Justin Masterson fell one out shy of a quality start on Sunday, but managed to pick up the win against the Rangers in Arlington. The right-hander permitted two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six over 5 2/3 innings of a 3-2 win.

Over his last three starts covering 15 2/3 innings, Masterson has allowed only three earned runs. He owns a 4.61 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP through 14 starts (80 innings). He will seek his third consecutive victory Friday at Boston.

  • Kevin Gausman SP | CHC

    Kevin Gausman to start Thursday

Orioles pitcher Kevin Gausman will get another start Thursday, according to MASN.

Gausman performed well Saturday, giving up just one run over seven innings. Gausman has a chance to earn a regular spot in the rotation based on how he pitches with Miguel Gonzalez sidelined.

  • Chris Sale SP | ATL

Chris Sale melts down late in no-decision

White Sox starter Chris Sale was cruising through his start against the Angels Saturday, but was left in a bit to long and fell apart in the seventh inning of a 6-5 loss.

Sale shut the Angels out for seven innings, in what was one of his best starts at that point. Unfortunately, cracks started showing late, as he allowed consecutive singles before closing out the seventh inning.

He went back out for the eighth, but the Angels had already figured him out. He allowed the first five runners to reach base, though one came on error. Unfortunately, that error opened the door to a bases-loaded situation with Mike Trout, who made Sale pay by taking him deep for a game-tying grand slam on Sale's 115th and final pitch.

Sale was still throwing hard late in the game, but was no longer fooling opposing hitters. He was charged with five runs -- four earned -- on seven hits and a walk in seven innings of work. Sale struck out six batters while throwing 80 of 115 pitches for strikes in the no-decision.

Sale's ERA rose to 2.06 in the game, though he remains unbeaten as a result of a no-decision. He will look to put together a more complete effort in his next outing, Thursday against the Tigers.

  • Kevin Gausman SP | CHC

Kevin Gausman tosses seven one-run innings in win vs. A's

Orioles pitcher Kevin Gausman shined in his second start of the season Saturday, giving up just one earned run on four hits and one walk in seven innings while striking out six to pick up a win in his team's 6-3 victory over the A's.

Gausman (1-1) was rocked in his first start in mid-May, but the highly-regarded prospect was back with the Orioles Saturday to fill in for the injured Miguel Gonzalez. His only blemish came on a third-inning solo home run. Gausman owns a 4.91 ERA and 8:3 K:BB ratio in 11 innings over his two starts. He could be tabbed to make Thursday's start against the Blue Jays.

  • Sonny Gray SP | BOS

Sonny Gray surrenders five runs in loss vs. Orioles

Athletics pitcher Sonny Gray endured his worst start of the season Saturday, giving up five earned runs on four hits and four walks in 5 1/3 innings while striking out seven in his team's 6-3 loss to the Orioles.

Gray (6-2) hadn't failed to complete six innings in a start before Saturday, when he gave up more than four runs for the first time this season. Even with the rare dud, Gray has delivered quality starts in 11 of his 13 outings while posting a 2.83 ERA and 72:31 K:BB ratio in 86 innings. He's slated to face the Yankees Friday.

  • Alex Cobb SP | DET

Alex Cobb gets rocked by Mariners

Rays pitcher Alex Cobb got hammered by the Mariners at home on Saturday, dropping to 1-4 on the year. The right-hander was shelled for seven runs on 10 hits and one walk while striking out two in 4 1/3 innings of a 7-4 defeat.

Over his last three starts covering 15 1/3 innings, Cobb has allowed 16 earned runs. He owns a 4.39 ERA and a 1/22 WHIP through his first seven starts (41 innings). He will look to get back on track Friday at Houston.

  • Kyle Gibson SP | BAL

Hot-at-home Kyle Gibson twirls gem against Astros

Twins right-hander Kyle Gibson continued his Jekyll-Hyde act Saturday against Houston with another fine home start.

Gibson lowered his home ERA to 1.54 with seven shutout innings. He gave up just three hits, walked three and fanned five. He is 4-2 at Target Field and 1-3 on the road.

Unfortunately, he is not slated to pitch at home again until early July. Gibson, who has surrendered 15 earned runs in his last 13 innings pitched on the road, has his next start scheduled for Friday in Detroit.

  • Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL

Dallas Keuchel dominates Twins for win No. 7

Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel dominated the Twins in Minnesota on Friday, scattering five hits in six scoreless frames to improve to 7-3 on the year. The left-hander struck out six and walked two in a 5-4 victory.

Keuchel has not allowed an earned run in three of his last five starts. He owns a 2.50 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP through his first 12 starts (82 2/3 innings). He will aim for his eighth win on Wednesday at home against Arizona.
