Gipson-Long allowed one run on three hits across 4.2 innings of relief in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Orioles. He struck out five.

Gipson-Long was the third Detroit pitcher of the night and ended up filling the bulk role as he set a new season best in innings and earned his first hold of the year. After covering 3.2 innings and tossing 70 pitches in his 2025 debut Wednesday, the righty dipped to 51 pitches but was more efficient and looked sharper in his second appearance. Before last week, Gipson-Long hadn't appeared in an MLB game since 2023 following a lengthy recovery from Tommy John surgery and hip surgery. The 27-year-old is a short-term starting option with Jackson Jobe (elbow) and Reese Olson (finger) on the injured list, but Gibson-Long may settle in as a long reliever when the Tigers are fully healthy. For now, he's penciled in to take the mound again Sunday against the Reds, potentially in a bulk role once more with Brant Hurter as the opener.

Matthews was diagnosed with a moderate subscapularis strain in his right shoulder Tuesday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Now that the Twins know exactly what kind of injury Matthews is dealing with, the plan is to shut him down for roughly two weeks. He'll be re-evaluated following his no-throw period, at which point a clearer timeline for his return may emerge. Simeon Woods Richardson was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday and figures to remain in Minnesota's rotation until Matthews is cleared to return.

Festa is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Rangers at Target Field.

Despite getting roughed up for eight earned runs over 3.2 innings in his start against the Athletics last Thursday after being called up from Triple-A St. Paul, Festa will receive at least one more chance to prove he belongs in the rotation. With Zebby Matthews (shoulder) recently joining Pablo Lopez (lat) on the injured list, Festa has a fairly clear runway to make additional starts with the big club if he can avoid further blowups.

Bradford (elbow) will throw a bullpen session at Target Field on Wednesday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Bradford has slowly been working his way back from a sprained UCL in his left elbow that has sidelined him since March 12, and he has been throwing bullpen sessions for nearly a month. The team has been taking a cautious approach with the left-hander's recovery, and it's possible that he is on the cusp of a minor-league rehab assignment. Bradford remains on track for a return at some point in July, with the All-Star break being a reasonable target date.

Cobb (hip) will report to Triple-A Toledo to continue his rehab assignment Wednesday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

The veteran right-hander made his first two rehab starts with High-A West Michigan and is now moving up to the highest level of the minors. Cobb threw 34 pitches over 2.1 frames in his latest start and should build up to around the 50-pitch mark Wednesday. He'll likely require another rehab outing or two after that before being deemed ready to make his season debut for Detroit.

The Mariners recalled Evans from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday.

Evans is taking the rotation spot vacated by Bryce Miller (elbow), who was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday. The right-handed Evans has managed a 2.83 ERA in six starts with the big club this season, although he has struck out only 25 across 35 innings. Evans could be in store for just one start during his upcoming stint in the big leagues, as Logan Gilbert (elbow) is expected to return from the injured list early next week.

The Mariners placed Miller on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right elbow inflammation.

Miller had been scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, but after he wasn't spotted throwing his between-starts bullpen session Monday, it became clear something was amiss. Mariners manager Dan Wilson revealed after the Mariners' 11-inning loss in the series opener in Arizona that Miller was still dealing with inflammation as well as a bone spur in his right elbow, prompting Seattle to shut him down once again. Miller missed approximately three weeks of action in May due to the injury but had struggled in both of his starts upon returning from the IL, striking out just four batters and allowing eight earned runs on 11 hits, two walks and two hit batsmen over nine innings. Wilson noted that a cortisone shot during Miller's previous IL stint didn't fully relieve the discomfort in his right elbow, so the 26-year-old may require a more aggressive treatment plan and/or a lengthier shutdown period this time around. Logan Evans was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move and will take Miller's spot in the rotation beginning with Tuesday's game.

The Rays optioned Seymour to Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old southpaw's first stint in the big leagues lasted just two days, but he was able to scoop up a win in his lone relief appearance in Monday's 11-inning victory over Boston. Though he was charged with a blown save after allowing an unearned run in the bottom of the 10th to tie the game at 8-8, Seymour saw the Rays score two runs for him in the top of the 11th, then kept the Red Sox off the board in the bottom of the frame to seal the victory. Since Seymour threw 28 pitches in the appearance and was unlikely to be available for the next day or two, the Rays elected to swap him off the active roster for a fresh relief arm in Mason Englert, who was recalled from Triple-A. Seymour should slot back into the rotation as he makes his return to Durham.

The Twins recalled Woods Richardson from Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday.

Woods Richardson will start Tuesday against the Rangers and should remain in the Twins rotation indefinitely as a replacement for Zebby Matthews (shoulder). The right-hander has an underwhelming 5.02 ERA and 35:14 K:BB over 37.2 innings this season at the major-league level.

Urquidy (elbow) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Thursday, MLB.com reports.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said that Urquidy -- who is on the mend from June 2024 Tommy John surgery -- will ramp up his workload in the coming days. If Urquidy's elbow continues to respond well to bullpen sessions, he could be cleared to start facing hitters within the next few weeks. The right-hander isn't expected to be a candidate to return from the 60-day injured list until late in the 2025 season.
