  • Tarik Skubal SP | DET

Tigers' Tarik Skubal: Tuesday's game postponed

Skubal won't start as scheduled Tuesday against the Pirates since the game has been postponed due to inclement weather, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

The contest will be made up via a straight doubleheader Wednesday. The Tigers haven't officially announced their updated pitching plans, but Skubal should start one of those contests.

  • Xzavion Curry RP | MIA

Guardians' Xzavion Curry: Sent to Triple-A

The Guardians optioned Curry to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Curry was shelled for six earned runs in 3.1 innings during his last outing Monday, and the return of Eli Morgan (shoulder) from the injured list will leave the former as the odd man out of Cleveland's pitching staff. The 25-year-old Curry owns a 5.68 ERA through three starts in the majors and has performed even worse in Triple-A (8.79 ERA), though he still could return to Cleveland this year if a spot opens up in the big-league rotation.

  • Max Scherzer SP | TOR

Rangers' Max Scherzer: Throwing off mound

Scherzer (back/arm) will throw a "full" bullpen session Wednesday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Scherzer will throw off a mound for the first time since being shut down in early May, an encouraging sign for the 38-year-old, who's rehabbing a nerve problem in his throwing arm and an offseason back surgery. Prior to the setback, Scherzer threw 52 pitches April 25 in a rehab start at Triple-A Round Rock.

  • Dane Dunning SP | SEA

Rangers' Dane Dunning: Starting Wednesday's game

Dunning will start Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

He's on turn to start Tuesday's series opener, but Dunning will be pushed back a day with Nathan Eovaldi (groin) returning from the injured list. Dunning threw 74 pitches in his first start back from the IL last week versus the Phillies, so he might not quite be fully stretched out for Wednesday's outing.

  • Nathan Eovaldi SP | TEX

Rangers' Nathan Eovaldi: Will start for Texas on Tuesday

Eovaldi (groin) will start Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Eovaldi has missed nearly all of May with a strained right groin, but he will skip a rehab assignment and go right back into the Rangers' rotation. The right-hander would figure to be relatively limited from a workload perspective Tuesday, although the Rangers haven't revealed any specifics regarding a pitch count. Dane Dunning had been on turn to start Tuesday but will now take the ball Wednesday.

  • Dean Kremer SP | BAL

Orioles' Dean Kremer: Close to playing catch

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Tuesday that Kremer (triceps) is improving and could be cleared to play catch soon, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Kremer was placed on the 15-day injured list this past Friday, but it's looking like his absence might not last long. That said, it might be a push for the right-hander to return when eligible on June 5. More should be known on Kremer's potential timetable in the coming days.

  • Joey Cantillo SP | CLE

Guardians' Joey Cantillo: Starting rehab assignment

Cantillo (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on Thursday.

Cantillo sustained a strained hamstring toward the end of spring training and was given an 8-to-10-week timetable for return. He seems to be on track with his rehab considering Thursday's start comes around the eight-week mark. A top pitching prospect in the Guardians system, Cantillo got his first taste of Triple-A action last season, logging a 4.64 ERA across 95.0 innings over 18 starts.

  • Jake Woodford SP | MIL

White Sox's Jake Woodford: Promoted to start Tuesday

Woodford is having his contract selected from Triple-A Charlotte and will start Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

The right-hander joined the White Sox on a minor-league deal in January and will receive his first look in the big leagues this year as Mike Clevinger (elbow) heads to the injured list. Woodford posteed a 6.23 ERA over 47.2 innings for St. Louis in 2023, and he hasn't pitched particularly well for Charlotte this year with a 5.26 ERA and 42:17 K:BB in 10 starts.

  • Mike Clevinger RP | PIT

White Sox's Mike Clevinger: Headed to IL with sore elbow

The White Sox placed Clevinger on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to May 25, with right elbow inflammation, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Clevinger had been slated to start Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays but has landed on the IL instead. It's not yet clear how serious the injury is or how much time Clevinger might miss. Jake Woodford is coming up from Triple-A Charlotte to start Tuesday, and he could be needed for multiple outings.

  • Shane Drohan SP | MIL

White Sox's Shane Drohan: Moving rehab up to Triple-A

Drohan (shoulder) has been transferred to Triple-A Charlotte to continue his rehab assignment, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Coming back from left shoulder nerve decompression surgery, Drohan has allowed six runs (five earned) with a 10:4 K:BB over 5.1 innings in his first five rehab appearances. The Rule 5 pick could use most, if not all, of his 30 allotted rehab days.
