  • Kyle Harrison SP | BOS

Red Sox's Kyle Harrison: Candidate to start Monday

Harrison could be recalled from Triple-A Worcester to start Monday's series opener against the Orioles, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

After the Red Sox moved Walker Buehler to the bullpen Friday, the club needs a starter for Monday's contest. The leading contenders to fill the void in the rotation would seem to be Harrison and Richard Fitts, the latter of whom was recalled from Triple-A on Thursday and was made available out of the bullpen. Fitts has gone unused in the first three games of the Red Sox's series with the Yankees, and if Boston stays away from him again Sunday, the right-hander would likely be the top candidate to take the hill Monday. Acquired from the Giants in the June 15 deal that sent Rafael Devers to San Francisco, Harrison has yet to make his Red Sox debut. The 24-year-old southpaw has thus far made 10 starts for Worcester, turning in a 3.69 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 46:25 K:BB in 46.1 innings.

  • Jacob deGrom SP | TEX

Rangers' Jacob deGrom: Completes bullpen session

DeGrom (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Saturday and isn't expected to miss another start, MLB.com reports.

DeGrom skipped his previously scheduled start due to shoulder discomfort, which the team attributed more to workload than a legitimate injury. He's already tossed 140.1 innings this season, his most since 2019. DeGrom is tentatively expected to take the mound Monday at home against the Angels.

  • Taj Bradley SP | MIN

Twins' Taj Bradley: Called up to start Sunday

The Twins recalled Bradley from Triple-A St. Paul ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the White Sox in Chicago.

Bradley will be making his Twins debut Sunday, three and a half weeks after he was acquired from the Rays. The 24-year-old righty has made three starts for St. Paul, turning in a bloated 7.53 ERA and 1.63 WHIP but a more promising 18:2 K:BB in 14.1 innings. Bradley has shown the ability to make bats miss at a prolific clip over parts of three seasons in the majors, though he took a big step back in that regard during his time with the Rays in 2025, with his strikeout rate dropping to a career-low 20.2 percent in 21 big-league starts.

Twins' Taj Bradley: Drawing start Sunday

The Twins will recall Bradley from Triple-A St. Paul to start Sunday's game against the White Sox in Chicago.

The transaction will likely be officially announced a few hours prior to the game's 2:10 p.m. ET start time. Bradley will become the second trade-deadline pickup the Twins will have added to the big-league rotation this weekend, as Mick Abel was called up from St. Paul to start in Saturday's 7-3 loss. Bradley -- who owns a 7.53 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 18:2 K:BB in 14.1 innings at St. Paul since being acquired from the Rays on July 31 -- could be in line for multiple turns through the rotation while the Twins wait for Pablo Lopez (shoulder) and Simeon Woods Richardson (illness) to return from the injured list.

  • George Kirby SP | SEA

Mariners' George Kirby: Rebounds with quality start

Kirby allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out three over six innings in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Saturday.

Kirby struggled against the Mets in the Little League Classic last weekend, but he rebounded well with a quality start in this outing. His usually impeccable control hasn't been present lately -- Kirby has walked multiple batters in six of his last eight starts, though he's still turned in five quality starts in that span. For the season, he's at a 4.05 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 97:26 K:BB through 95.2 innings over 17 starts. He's projected to next take the mound in Cleveland.

  • Athletics' Jeffrey Springs: Fine effort in no-decision

Springs allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out three over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners on Saturday.

Springs allowed nine runs over eight innings across his previous two starts, so this was a good bounce-back effort. The southpaw has had Seattle's number all year, allowing just four runs over 22.1 innings across his four games versus the Athletics' division rivals. He threw 47 of 74 pitches for strikes in this outing. Springs has also allowed a home run in six straight starts after giving up a solo shot to Randy Arozarena. On the year, Springs has a 4.15 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 117:46 K:BB through 145.1 innings across 27 outings (25 starts). He is projected for a home start versus the Rangers in his next outing.

  • Dean Kremer SP | BAL

Orioles' Dean Kremer: Serves up three homers Saturday

Kremer did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 9-8 loss to the Astros, allowing seven runs (six earned) on seven hits and one walk with four strikeouts over five innings.

Kremer was mostly undone by a nightmare first inning, in which he surrendered five runs on three homers. It continued what has been an up-and-down season for the 29-year-old, who's delivered eight quality starts but also allowed five earned runs or more in eight of his 26 outings. He'll carry a 4.19 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 127:38 K:BB across 152.1 innings into a home matchup with the Red Sox next week.

  • Astros' Cristian Javier: Early hook in no-decision

Javier did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 9-8 win over the Orioles, allowing five runs (three earned) on three hits and four walks with three strikeouts over two innings.

Javier generated 11 whiffs but threw just 39 of 65 pitches for strikes, laboring through only two frames. After a strong five-inning debut Aug. 11, the 28-year-old has managed just five combined frames in his past two outings. He'll carry a 5.40 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 10:6 K:BB across 10 innings into a home matchup with the Angels next weekend.

  • Mick Abel P | MIN

Twins' Mick Abel: Roughed up in Twins debut

Abel (2-3) took the loss against the White Sox on Saturday, allowing six runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out two across three innings.

Abel was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul ahead Saturday's start, his first in a Twins' uniform since being traded by the Phillies in late July. Abel yielded nine runs in his last two starts with Philadelphia, and that trend continued with his new team as he gave up six runs in the second inning, highlighted by a Colson Montgomery grand slam. Abel now sits at a 6.43 ERA and 1.54 WHIP across 28 major-league innings this season. With Pablo Lopez (shoulder), Simeon Woods Richardson (illness) and David Festa (shoulder) still on the IL, Abel is slated to make at least a couple more turns in the Twins' rotation. Things won't get easier for Abel, as he's lined up to take on the Padres at home next weekend.

  • Davis Martin SP | CHW

White Sox's Davis Martin: Earns fifth win of 2025

Martin (5-9) came away with the win against the Twins on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out six across five innings.

Martin yielded at least two baserunners in two of the five frames he pitched, but he was able to limit the damage to two solo home runs from Kody Clemens and Matt Wallner in the second and fourth innings, respectively. Saturday marked just the fourth time Martin has recorded at least six strikeouts this season, and he has yielded three earned runs or less in five of six starts since the All-Star break. He now sits at a 3.93 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 80:35 K:BB across 112.1 innings this season. Martin will look for win number six in his next start, tentatively slated for next week at home against the Yankees.
