Smyly (0-2) took the loss in Friday's 13-5 rout at the hands of the Blue Jays, surrendering six runs (five earned) on seven hits -- including three home runs -- and four walks over four-plus innings. He struck out three.

After two scoreless frames, the southpaw served up homers in three straight innings before getting the hook, digging a 6-0 hole Atlanta couldn't climb out of. Smyly has been tagged for six homers in his last two starts and nine long balls in only 19 innings on the season, sticking him with a bloated 8.05 ERA, but as yet there's been no indication his rotation spot could be in jeopardy.

Miley (3-2) picked up the win in Friday's 8-6 victory over the Cubs, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over five innings while striking out three.

The veteran southpaw gave up runs in each of the first two innings, but Miley settled down afterward and benefited from another offensive eruption by the Reds. He exited after throwing 99 pitches (61 strikes), and he'll take a 2.67 ERA and 19:7 K:BB through 27 innings into his next outing.

Anderson (1-3) earned the win Friday versus the Mets, allowing one run on five hits and two walks with six strikeouts in five-plus innings.

Anderson gave up a leadoff single to Pete Alonso in the sixth inning, and reliever JoJo Romero allowed him to score. The 33-year-old Anderson was at the plate for the Phillies' two runs Friday. The right-hander struck out but reached on a passed ball, and both Brad Miller and Andrew Knapp were able to dart home to score on the play. Anderson has an unimpressive 5.40 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 19:10 k:BB across 21.2 innings in five outings. He projects to face the Brewers next week.

Brubaker (2-2) allowed three runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out seven in five innings to take the loss against the Cardinals on Friday.

Brubaker hasn't issued any walks in his last three outings, but he allowed a season-high three runs against St. Louis on Friday and was charged with his second consecutive loss. The right-hander now has a 2.63 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 30:5 K:BB in 27.1 innings this season. Brubaker tentatively lines up to make his next start on the road against San Diego on Wednesday.

Lopez pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing six hits and two walks in a no-decision versus Washington on Friday. He struck out two.

Lopez and Washington starter Jon Lester engaged in a pitchers' duel Friday -- all three runs in Washington's 2-1 win came in the 10th inning. The 25-year-old Lopez has a 2.34 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 34:10 K:BB across 34.2 innings this season. Despite the solid work on the mound, he remains at 0-2 with four quality starts in six outings. He's tentatively scheduled for his next start Thursday versus Arizona.

Stroman exited Friday's game against the Phillies due to a tight hamstring, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Stroman was replaced by Aaron Loup to begin the bottom of the sixth inning Friday, and he was apparently dealing with a hamstring issue. The right-hander allowed two runs (zero earned) on three hits and one walk while striking out eight in five innings before leaving the game. Stroman tentatively lines up to start on the road against St. Louis on Wednesday, but it's not yet clear whether he'll be able to take the mound.

Woodford was recalled by the Cardinals on Friday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Woodford opened the season on the big-league roster but made just two appearances before being sent down, allowing two runs in four innings with a 5:4 K:BB. Daniel Ponce de Leon landed on the injured list with shoulder inflammation in a corresponding move.

Paddack was placed on the injured list for an unspecified reason Friday.

The Padres didn't provide an explanation for Paddack's placement on the injured list, which signals that his absence could be related to the league's COVID-19 health and safety protocols. It's not yet clear when he'll be able to return. The right-hander had been in line to start Monday's game against the Pirates, but right-hander Miguel Diaz's contract was selected in a corresponding move, and he could fill in as a starter if Paddack is unable to pitch.

Gonsolin (shoulder) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Thursday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Gonsolin made the Dodgers' Opening Day roster but landed on the injured list with shoulder inflammation before he got the chance to make his season debut. An attempt to start his throwing program in mid-April was halted due to continued soreness, but he's making progress again now. The Dodgers have yet to provide a clear timetable for his return.

Strasburg (shoulder) threw off flat ground from 200 feet and will throw from a mound this weekend, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports

The righty was placed on the injured list earlier this month after a four-inning struggle against St. Louis on April 13. The return to a mound this weekend is a promising sign for Strasburg, who is working his way back from shoulder inflammation.
