Rich Hill SP | KC
Dodgers' Rich Hill: Tossing side session
Hill (forearm) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Thursday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Hill is set to throw off a mound for the first time since landing on the injured list with a left forearm strain. According to Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times, the veteran southpaw looked good Tuesday when throwing long toss from 150 feet.

Pablo Lopez SP | MIN
Marlins' Pablo Lopez: Next rehab outing on tap
Lopez (shoulder) is scheduled to throw five innings for Triple-A New Orleans on Wednesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Lopez has been on the shelf since June 19 with a shoulder strain, and he'll need at least one more rehab outing prior to being activated. He surrendered one run on two hits and three walks while fanning five over 3.1 innings during his last appearance for New Orleans.

Aaron Nola SP | PHI
Phillies' Aaron Nola: To start every fifth day
Nola will pitch every fifth day for the remainder of the season, meaning he will get two starts this week, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
The Phillies will try to max out the amount of starts they get from their ace the rest of the way, so he will start Tuesday in Boston, again on Sunday in Miami, and would be on turn to pitch on the final day of the season. Not only does this give the Phillies their best chance of making the postseason (in theory), but it should benefit Nola's fantasy owners down the stretch as long as he doesn't wear down with no extra off days.

Jerad Eickhoff SP | PIT
Phillies' Jerad Eickhoff: Activated, optioned to Triple-A
Eickhoff (biceps) was activated from the 60-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.
He gave up 11 earned runs in 12.1 innings (five appearances) on his rehab assignment, so the Phillies aren't quite ready to give him another look in the majors. Eickhoff should join the big-league bullpen in September.

Jacob Nix SP | SD
Padres' Jacob Nix: Dazzles in Triple-A rehab debut
Nix (elbow) tossed five shutout innings for Triple-A El Paso on Monday, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out six to pick up the win.
Nix threw 54 pitches (36 for strikes) while going five innings for the first time since beginning his rehab stint July 26. In five rehab starts, he has now compiled a 1.96 ERA while striking out 23 batters in 18.1 innings across three levels as he pushes to rise to the challenge that Padres manager Andy Green laid out to earn his way back to the big club this season. Nix went 2-5 with a 7.02 ERA in nine starts with San Diego in 2018.

Trevor Williams RP | TEX
Pirates' Trevor Williams: Chased early by Nats
Williams (5-6) took the loss Monday, surrendering eight runs (six earned) on six hits and three walks over only two innings while striking out one as the Pirates were routed 13-0 by the Nationals.
Three of the six hits off Williams left the yard, but given that the Washington offense has been averaging better than 12 runs a game since last Wednesday, there may not have been much he could have done to avoid the drubbing. The right-hander now carries a 5.65 ERA and 81:32 K:BB through 106.2 innings, and he'll look to turn things around in his next start Saturday, at home against the Reds.

Zac Gallen SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Zac Gallen: Fans eight in no-decision
Gallen threw six innings in a no-decision against the Rockies on Monday, giving up one earned run on five hits, striking out eight and walking six as the Diamondbacks won 5-3.
His control wasn't at his best as he issued a season-high six free passes, but it was an otherwise stellar outing for Gallen, as he posted his third quality start of the season. The 24-year-old continues to impress, as he's now sporting an excellent 2.45 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 60:28 K:BB across 51.1 innings.

Zach Davies SP | WAS
Brewers' Zach Davies: Solid in return
Davies (8-6) allowed two runs on three hits and two walks over five innings Monday, striking out four batters and taking the loss against the Cardinals.
It was Davies' first appearance after spending a little over two weeks on the injured list with back spasms. He allowed one hit and one walk over four scoreless innings before getting into some trouble in the fifth and coughing up two runs. His two-seamer was sitting in the upper-80s as it was before his injury and his ERA still sits at a respectable 3.74. Davies will look to avoid a fifth straight loss Sunday at home against Arizona.
-
Eric Lauer SP | LAD
Padres' Eric Lauer: Goes four innings
Lauer gave up one run on four hits and two walks while striking out five through four innings in a no-decision against the Reds on Monday.
Lauer only allowed a solo home run as far as runs are concerned, but he wasn't efficient enough, taking 86 pitches to get through four innings. Lauer has only pitched six or more innings once in his last seven appearances. The 24-year-old has a 4.47 ERA and 98 strikeouts through 23 starts this season. Lauer will make his next start Monday against the Dodgers at Petco Park.

Jacob Nix SP | SD
Padres' Jacob Nix: Moves rehab to Triple-A
Nix is starting for Triple-A El Paso on Monday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Prior to Monday, Nix made four rehab starts between the Arizona League and High-A Lake Elsinore, compiling an 0-2 record along with a 2.70 ERA and 17:5 K:BB in 13.1 innings. The move to Triple-A takes him one step closer to returning to the majors after being diagnosed with a torn UCL in his right elbow in March. Barring any setbacks, he should see time with the big club before the end of the season.
