Walker Buehler SP | SD
Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Whiffs 15 in complete game
Buehler (10-2) allowed one run on six hits while striking out 15 in a complete-game win over the Padres on Saturday.
Buehler tossed 80 of his 110 pitches for strikes. The 15 strikeouts were his second-highest total in an outing, behind only the 16 he tossed June 21 versus the Rockies in his only other career complete game. The only damage on the right-hander's ledger was a solo home run by pinch hitter Manuel Margot. Buehler has allowed one run or fewer in nine of his 21 starts this season. Over 131.1 innings, the 25-year-old has a 3.22 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 152 strikeouts. Buehler lines up for a home date with the Diamondbacks on Friday for his next start.

Ross Stripling SP | KC
Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Throws bullpen session
Stripling (biceps) threw a bullpen session Saturday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Stripling is battling biceps tightness and is expected to require more than a minimum-length stay on the 10-day injured list. A rehab assignment is likely coming next, possibly with High-A Rancho Cucamonga on Tuesday.

Cole Hamels SP | SD
Cubs' Cole Hamels: Tosses five scoreless vs. Brewers
Hamels threw five scoreless innings Saturday, allowing just four hits and no walks while striking out six in a no-decision against the Brewers.
The 35-year-old was activated off the injured list prior to the start and allowed just four harmless singles before he was removed after 74 pitches. Hamels has been outstanding for the Cubs this season even though he has not earned a win since June 12. The left-hander holds a 2.84 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 103 strikeouts in 104.2 innings. Hamels will start next at Cincinnati on Thursday.

Trevor Rogers SP | BAL
Marlins' Trevor Rogers: Promoted to Double-A
Rogers was promoted to Double-A Jacksonville on Saturday, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.

Edward Cabrera SP | CHC
Marlins' Edward Cabrera: On IL with infection
Cabrera was placed on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Jacksonville with an infection, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.
Fernandez notes that the infection is not believed to be serious, so we should see him back before the end of the season. This has been a big breakout year for the 6-foot-4 righty. He has a 2.23 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 110:29 K:BB in 92.2 innings across stops at High-A and Double-A.

Cole Hamels SP | SD
Cubs' Cole Hamels: Activated ahead of Saturday's start
Hamels (oblique) was activated from the injured list ahead of Saturday's start against the Brewers, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.
The veteran southpaw logged a 1.22 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 37 strikeouts in 37 innings over his six starts prior to the oblique injury, so perhaps he can pick up where he left off. He gave up three runs, walking six and striking out six in 5.1 innings over two rehab outings at Triple-A.

Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Braves' Kevin Gausman: Roughed up by Reds
Gausman (3-7) took the loss Friday as Atlanta was downed 5-2 by the Reds, giving up five runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out five over 4.2 innings.
The right-hander was slow out of the gates once again, serving up a two-run shot to Joey Votto in the first inning, and Atlanta never climbed out of that hole. Gausman will carry a 6.19 ERA and 85:27 K:BB through 80 innings into his next start Wednesday in Minnesota, and another poor performance could put his rotation spot in jeopardy.

Alex Wood RP | ATH
Reds' Alex Wood: Grabs first win in quality start
Wood (1-0) struck out five and picked up the win in Friday's 5-2 victory over Atlanta, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk over 6.2 innings.
Both runs scored on solo shots, but otherwise it was a strong outing for the southpaw, who threw 60 of 93 pitches for strikes in his second start since coming off the injured list. Wood will look to keep rolling in his next trip to the mound Thursday, at home against the Cubs.

Dustin May SP | MIL
Dodgers' Dustin May: Solid in debut
May (0-1) took the loss against the Padres on Friday after surrendering four runs (three earned) on nine hits while striking out three over 5.2 innings.
Making his major-league debut, May turned in an impressive performance without issuing any free passes or allowing much hard contact -- of his nine hits allowed, eight were singles. The right-hander tossed 97 pitches in the outing, 64 for strikes. May had made just five starts at the Triple-A level before earning his second promotion of the season. In 20 starts between the two highest levels of the minors, he posted a 3.37 ERA. The 21-year-old will get his next chance to start Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Eric Lauer SP | LAD
Padres' Eric Lauer: Fans six in win
Lauer (6-8) earned the win Friday after holding the Dodgers to two runs on three hits while striking out six over six innings.
Lauer's only blemish of the night came in the form of a two-run home run off the bat of Cody Bellinger. Otherwise, the left-hander quieted a dangerous Dodgers lineup without issuing any free passes. The 24-year-old has a 4.43 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 87:31 K:BB over 21 appearances this season. Lauer will take the hill next for a Thursday matchup against the Rockies.
