  • Jose Urena SP | LAA

Marlins' Jose Urena: Tough-luck loser Wednesday

Urena (0-5) took the loss against the Phillies on Wednesday, giving up two runs (one earned) on seven hits and a walk over seven innings while striking out six.

The right-hander pounded the strike zone all night, throwing 82 of 108 pitches for strikes and an incredible 26 first-pitch strikes out of 30 batters faced, but the Marlins' hitters inability to solve Aaron Nola kept Urena winless on the season. He'll take a 4.28 ERA into his next outing Tuesday on the road against the Cubs.

  • Aaron Nola SP | PHI

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Blanks Marlins on Wednesday

Nola (4-1) picked up the win over the Marlins on Wednesday, giving up four hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings while striking out seven.

The right-hander retired 17 straight batters at one point, firing 67 of 101 pitches for strikes and generating 16 swinging strikes from the overmatched Marlins hitters. Nola's now delivered five straight quality starts, a streak he'll look to continue Monday at home against the Giants.

  • Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Racks up 11 Ks in Wednesday's win

Strasburg (3-3) picked up the win over the Pirates on Wednesday, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk over seven innings while striking out 11.

The 11 Ks were a season high for Strasburg, who threw 69 of 104 pitches for strikes and generated an impressive 23 swinging strikes. The right-hander will take a 3.47 ERA into his next start Monday on the road against the Padres.

  • Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR

Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Leaves game with apparent injury

Ryu exited Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks with an apparent injury, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Ryu was replaced by Pedro Baez with one out in the second inning. Specifics regarding the injury remain unclear, but McCullough suggested it could be a lower-half injury, as Ryu attempted to stretch his left leg before exiting the game with the trainer. He hadn't allowed a run while striking out two prior to exiting.

  • Yu Darvish SP | SD

Cubs' Yu Darvish: Shaky again Wednesday

Darvish (0-3) took the loss Wednesday, allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits and three walks while striking out eight over 4.1 innings against the Rockies.

The eight strikeouts in just 4.1 innings were nice -- bringing his total to 37 in 30 innings on the season -- but it was otherwise another concerning performance. Darvish got taken deep three times and failed to make it out of the fifth inning for the fourth time in six starts. There are several causes for concern at this point, but it's still too early to hit the panic button. He'll look to right the ship with a more favorable matchup against the Marlins on Tuesday.

  • Kenta Maeda SP | NYY

Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: Scheduled to start Saturday

Maeda is scheduled to start Saturday against the Padres in Monterrey, Mexico, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

The Dodgers opted to give the ball to Walker Buehler for the series opener, leaving Maeda and Rich Hill (finger) to close out the final two games of the series. The 30-year-old Maeda has allowed four runs in two of his past three starts, but he'll look to get back on track in what should be a favorable matchup against the 11-21 Padres.

  • Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Slated to start Friday

Buehler is scheduled to start Friday against the Padres in Monterrey, Mexico, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Buehler will serve as the Dodgers' 26th man for their upcoming series in Mexico, making him eligible to rejoin the big-league club for what will be his third start of the season despite being optioned to the minors less than 10 days ago. The 23-year-old, who last pitched Saturday against the Giants, will get the ball for the series opener, with Kenta Maeda and Rich Hill (finger) following him. Buehler owns a 1.80 ERA and 11:4 K:BB through 10 innings (two starts) for the Dodgers this season.

  • Alex Wood RP | ATH

Dodgers' Alex Wood: Set to start Thursday

Wood will start Thursday against the Diamondbacks, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

It turns out Wood will make his next start on regular rest after some speculation that he might be pushed back to start against the Padres over the weekend. With Wood set to start Thursday's series finale in Arizona, Walker Buehler, Kenta Maeda and Rich Hill (finger) are lined up to start the team's three-game series against the Padres over the weekend. The 27-year-old will carry a 4.11 ERA into Thursday's matchup, which will pit him against Patrick Corbin.

  • Tyler Anderson SP | LAA

Rockies' Tyler Anderson: Fans nine in win

Anderson (2-0) earned the win Wednesday, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out nine over seven innings against the Cubs.

Anderson left his last start in the second inning due to dizziness and shortness of breath, but he appeared fine Wednesday. He was in total command all game, throwing 71 of his 100 pitches for strikes while inducing 18 swinging strikes en route to notching a season-high nine strikeouts. The lefty has recovered nicely since being blown up for seven runs in his season debut, as he's allowed two earned runs or fewer in each of his last six starts. He'll look to keep it rolling Wednesday against the Angels.

  • Jacob deGrom SP | TEX

Mets' Jacob deGrom: Exits with hyperextended elbow

DeGrom was removed from Wednesday's game against the Braves with a hyperextended right elbow, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

DeGrom exited the game and was seen heading to the locker room with a trainer after tossing four scoreless innings. According to James Wagner of The New York Times, manager Mickey Callaway said deGrom suffered the injury while hitting in the third inning, and that it initially didn't bother him when pitching, which is why the team allowed him to go back out for the fourth. While the severity of the issue remains unclear, the 29-year-old seems likely to miss some time. Tim Britton of The Athletic New York reports that J.J. Putz missed about five weeks with a hyperextended throwing elbow back in 2008. An extended absence for deGrom would be a tough blow to the Mets and fantasy owners alike, as he's been lights out to start the season, compiling a 2.06 ERA and 48:11 K:BB through his first six starts (39.1 innings). He'll undergo further testing in the coming days.
