Jameson Taillon SP | TOR
Pirates' Jameson Taillon: Walks contributing to recent rough patch
Taillon has allowed 11 earned runs on 18 hits and six walks in 15.1 innings covering his last three starts. He's struck out 14 batters over the span, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. "The stuff was great tonight," Taillon said of Wednesday's loss. "That's why it's tough. You only get a handful of nights here where you feel that good and crisp and clean, and the ball is flying out of your hand. So it was poor execution, maybe second-guessing some of my shakes and pitch selection."
Prior to Wednesday, the righty had limited opponents to one earned run in 19 road innings. Unsurprisingly, walks have hindered his performance -- Taillon has walked 13 batters in 35.1 innings after issuing only 17 free passes in 104 innings as a rookie. He's upped his average fastball velocity from 94.3 mph to 95 mph, but the future ace is still figuring things out at the big-league level.

Antonio Senzatela RP | MIL
Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Nabs fourth win with solid six-inning effort
Senzatela (4-1) gave up three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk over six innings in Wednesday's 11-3 win over the Padres. He struck out two.
The promising right-hander went at least six innings for the fifth straight start and has yet to get blown up despite making two of his trips to the mound at Coors Field. Wednesday's outing was Senzatela's fourth quality start of the season and fourth appearance with two earned runs or less surrendered. He doesn't miss many bats (20 strikeouts in 38 innings), but his ERA (2.84) and WHIP (1.03) provide him with plenty of fantasy value at the moment. He'll look to continue his hot start against the Cubs at home next Monday.

Julio Urias SP | LAD
Dodgers' Julio Urias: Struggles with control Wednesday
Urias danced around eight baserunners (four walks) to hold the Giants scoreless over five innings Wednesday. He struck out one and didn't factor in the decision in a 4-1 loss.
The talented rookie struggled with his fastball command in this one, but he managed to pitch around his mistakes and leave the mound with a 1-0 lead. Urias carries a 0.84 ERA through two starts, but his 5:8 K:BB ratio is a bit concerning. He will find it hard to keep his ERA this low while carrying an unsightly 1.50 WHIP, especially when you factor in the strict pitch limits placed on him this season. Urias has all the talent in the world, which makes him worth rostering in most formats, but it would be unreasonable to expect the 20-year-old to be a polished pitcher this early in his career.

Jerad Eickhoff SP | PIT
Phillies' Jerad Eickhoff: Takes another loss
Eickhoff (0-3) gave up four runs on five hits and two walks over 5.2 innings in Wednesday's loss to the Cubs.
He was actually outpitching Jake Arrieta until the sixth inning, when he gave up a trio of singles, then watched the bullpen allow the two runners he bequeathed to score. Eickhoff hasn't been as bad as his record would imply, but after pitching at least six innings in his first three outings, he's now failed to complete six frames in three straight. Although he doesn't have a ton of upside, there's some degree of fantasy value to be gained from Eickhoff, as he's a decent pitcher in a relatively unappealing team context.

Robbie Ray SP | SD
Diamondbacks' Robbie Ray: Fans 10 in tough-luck loss to Nats
Ray (2-2) allowed just two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out 10 batters over six innings during Thursday's loss to Washington.
Holding the Nationals to just two runs over six frames is an impressive performance on its own, so Ray's 10 punchouts only improve the showing. The 25-year-old lefty improved to a 3.47 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 3.23 FIP and 12.1 K/9 for the campaign, and he's quickly affirming himself as a solid fantasy option -- especially with the starting pitcher pool ravaged by injuries. Ray lines up to face Detroit in the first of his projected two starts next week.

Jacob deGrom SP | TEX
Mets' Jacob deGrom: Rides offense to win over Atlanta
DeGrom (2-1) gave up five runs on eight hits and five walks with five strikeouts over five innings in Wednesday's 16-5 win over the Braves.
Yes, that's a lot of fives. It's unusual to see him show such poor control, but deGrom labored through this outing, throwing 109 pitches (68 strikes). Although this was easily his worst outing of the year, deGrom's offense picked him up in a big way. It's worth remembering that the stud righty had recorded double-digit whiffs in three straight coming in, and his 49:16 K:BB in 36.2 innings is rather spectacular. Look for a bounce-back effort against the Giants on Monday.

Jameson Taillon SP | TOR
Pirates' Jameson Taillon: Hurt by long balls in loss to Reds
Taillon (2-1) gave up six runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out six over five innings in Wednesday's road loss to the Reds.
All the runs came on three-run homers in the first and fourth innings, doubling Taillon's homer total for the season. The 25-year-old righty has had a couple duds early on here in his first full MLB campaign, and we're still waiting to really see his swing-and-miss stuff come out, but Taillon remains a credible fantasy starter with the potential to figure it all out and become elite.

Aaron Nola SP | PHI
Phillies' Aaron Nola: Heads back to Philly for MRI
Nola returned to Philadelphia to get an MRI on his back, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philly reports.
Despite showing notable improvements over the past few days, Nola is apparently still feeling something in his back and is headed for a precautionary MRI. He still remains without a timetable for return, though it seems likely he'll miss at least one more start. More should be known about his status once the MRI results are released, but in the meantime, Nick Pivetta should continue to start as long as Nola can't go.

Anthony DeSclafani RP | ARI
Reds' Anthony DeSclafani: Elbow still not fully healed
DeSclafani (elbow) still hasn't fully healed and won't begin a throwing program for at least a couple more weeks, MLB.com's Mark Sheldon reports.
DeSclafani almost certainly won't get back when first eligible on June 1. Despite that, he's still upbeat about his rehab. "I'm feeling good. I'm making progress for sure," DeSclafani said. "I still have a few more weeks but my arm is feeling better. I'm definitely headed in the right direction. I'm excited about that. We're not going backwards."

Chase Anderson RP | TEX
Brewers' Chase Anderson: Will start Thursday
Anderson will make his next start Thursday against the Cardinals, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Anderson was initially scheduled to pitch Wednesday, but inclement weather resulted in the game's postponement. As expected, Anderson will simply start the series finale instead, while the other four Brewers starting pitchers will also be pushed back a day on the schedule.
