Quantrill (7-7) earned the win Wednesday against the Red Sox, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out three.

Quantrill was stingy Wednesday and got more than enough run support in an eventual 20-7 Rockies victory. It marks the 29-year-old Quantrill's first win since June 11, though he's now turned in back-to-back quality starts. His ERA sits at 4.09 through 21 starts (114.1 innings) this season with a 1.34 WHIP and 86:43 K:BB. Quantrill's tentatively lined up to face the Angels at home in his next outing.

Nola did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's loss to the Twins, allowing one earned run on six hits and three walks while striking out six over six innings.

Nola came out of the All-Star break slow, allowing four earned runs in five innings against the Pirates his last time out. The 31-year-old was much sharper Wednesday, fanning six batters and limiting the Twins to just one run, a solo home run by Matt Wallner in the second inning. The right-hander notched his 15th quality start of the season Wednesday, tied for third in the major leagues. Nola now owns a 3.44 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 126:31 K:BB across 130.2 innings. He is tentatively scheduled for a home start against the Yankees early next week.

Sale won't start the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Reds after the game was postponed due to inclement weather in Atlanta.

Rain prevented Sale from starting as originally scheduled Tuesday, and poor weather conditions will now prevent Atlanta and Cincinnati from concluding Wednesday's twin bill. The game has been rescheduled for Sept. 9. Per David O'Brien of The Athletic, Sale is slated to take the hill Thursday against the Mets at Citi Field for what will be his first start since the All-Star break.

Atlanta optioned Winans to Triple-A Gwinnett following its 9-4 loss to Cincinnati in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday.

Called up from Gwinnett earlier in the day to make his second start of the season with Atlanta in the opening game of the twin bill, Winans dropped to 0-2 after giving up seven earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three over 2.2 innings. Though Atlanta has a spot open in its rotation with Max Fried (forearm) on the injured list, Winans took himself out of consideration for another start after his rough showing Wednesday. Atlanta called up lefty Zach Logue from Gwinnett in a corresponding move to provide some length out of the bullpen for the second game of the doubleheader.

Scott plans to treat the UCL sprain in his right elbow with rest and rehab with the hope of returning from the 15-day injured list later this season, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

According to Will Sammon of The Athletic, Scott will initially be shut down for two weeks before being re-evaluated. Though UCL sprains are often a precursor to Tommy John surgery or a similar arm operation down the road, Scott told Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News that he dealt with the same injury in the minors last season and was able to return to action in 21 days. The Mets are likely to act more conservatively with Scott's injury this time around, and a September return probably represents a best-case scenario for the rookie even if he's cleared to resume throwing following the two-week shutdown period.

Knack (2-2) got the win over the Giants on Tuesday, allowing one run on two hits and two walks while striking out six over five innings.

The lone tally against Knack was a solo home run by Tyler Fitzgerald in the second. Knack otherwise put together another strong outing, registering 10 whiffs and limiting the Giants to weak contact outside of the home run. The 26-year-old continues to prove he belongs up with the Dodgers, putting up a 3.07 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 42:12 K:BB in 44 innings so far this year. The Dodgers' rotation is starting to get a little crowded again with the return of Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) and Tyler Glasnow (back) this week, but Knack's spot should be safe as long as he keeps producing quality outings. He's currently lined up to face the Padres next week.

Hicks (4-7) took the loss Tuesday against the Dodgers, allowing four runs on three hits and five walks while striking out seven over 3.2 innings.

Hicks began the game by striking out Shohei Ohtani and Will Smith but then a hit-by-pitch, a walk and a two-out double from Gavin Lux gave the Dodgers an early 2-0 lead. Hicks was able to get through the next two innings scoreless despite walking three more batters. The Dodgers would then tack on two more runs in the fourth on a double from Ohtani, which would end Hicks' day at 92 pitches. Walks have been a problem for Hicks throughout his career, but his five free passes Tuesday were a season high. He hasn't pitched past the fifth since May 31 and hasn't picked up a win since May 19. Hicks now owns a 4.01 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 90:41 K:BB in 98.2 innings. Robbie Ray (elbow) is set to return to the rotation Wednesday and Alex Cobb (hip) is not far behind, leaving Hicks as the potential odd man out of the rotation. For now, the right-hander is scheduled to make his next start at home versus Colorado this weekend.

The Reds recalled Richardson from Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Richardson was recalled ahead of Tuesday's game against Atlanta before being optioned to Triple-A after the contest was postponed. However, he never actually left the club and now will be temporarily added back to the active roster as the 27th man for Wednesday's doubleheader in Atlanta. Richardson is a good bet to eat some innings after Nick Martinez in the second game of the twin bill before the Reds send him back to Louisville.

Atlanta recalled Winans from Triple-A Gwinnett. He'll start the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Reds at Truist Park.

Left-hander Dylan Dodd was sent out to Triple-A Gwinnett to open up room on the roster for Winans, who is back with Atlanta for the first time since April 11, when he gave up seven runs (six earned) over five innings in a spot start versus the Mets. Winans could have the opportunity to stick around with Atlanta on a more permanent basis this time around, as the club has an opening in the rotation while Max Fried (forearm) is on the shelf. The right-hander will first need to acquit himself well in Wednesday's start before putting himself in consideration for additional turns through the rotation.

Wheeler didn't factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing three hits and two walks with seven strikeouts across seven scoreless innings against Minnesota.

Wheeler was removed from his July 9 start with back spasms and missed a turn in the rotation due to the issue. He took the mound Tuesday for the first time since and didn't skip a beat. Wheeler struck out seven batters for a third consecutive start and garnered his 15th quality start of the year. The 34-year-old has a 2.55 ERA and 0.98 WHIP to pair with a 133:37 K:BB across 123.3 innings this season. He lines up to face the Yankees early next week.
