Ryan (2-2) earned the win Sunday over the Angels, allowing four hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out 11.

It was a stellar bounce-back performance from Ryan after he allowed six runs over five innings during his last start in Atlanta. The right-hander set a season high with 11 strikeouts while delivering seven scoreless innings for the second time this year. Ryan lowered his ERA to 3.18 with a 0.91 WHIP and an impressive 39:4 K:BB through his first six outings (34 innings). Ryan's currently scheduled to face the Red Sox on the road in his next start.

Smith-Shawver could be called up from Triple-A Gwinnett to start Tuesday's game against the Rockies in Colorado, Lindsay Crosby of AthlonSports.com reports.

Atlanta hasn't publicized its pitching plans for Tuesday, but the team still has a hole in its rotation following Spencer Strider's (hamstring) placement on the injured list last week, and Smith-Shawver would be available to enter the big-league rotation after making his most recent start for Gwinnett last Wednesday. The 22-year-old made Atlanta's Opening Day roster after a strong spring training, but he was demoted to Gwinnett on April 13 after turning in a 4.61 ERA, 1.98 WHIP and 17:8 K:BB across 13.2 innings over three starts. He's since made two appearances for Gwinnett and has supplied a 4.82 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB in 9.1 innings.

Leiter (finger) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list to start Sunday's game at San Francisco.

The right-hander has been sidelined since early April due to a blister on his right middle finger, but he's ready to rejoin Texas' rotation after covering 4.2 scoreless frames in a rehab outing with Triple-A Round Rock. Prior to the injury, Leiter was dominant in his first two starts of the campaign with one earned run allowed and a 10:1 K:BB across 10 innings.

The Marlins optioned Gillispie to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.

Gillespie gave up seven runs in just two innings during Saturday's loss to the Mariners. He's posted a 14.25 ERA and 2.25 WHIP in 12 innings over his last three starts, and he will move to Triple-A to work on his control. Miami recalled Luarbert Arias from Jacksonville in a corresponding move.

Soroka (biceps) will make a rehab start for Double-A Harrisburg on Sunday, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.

Soroka worked 2.2 innings in his first rehab start Tuesday, and the goal Sunday is for the 27-year-old right-hander to pitch at least five innings. Soroka is in the final stages of his recovery from a right biceps strain that caused him to be placed on the 15-day injured list April 4.

Feltner won't make his next scheduled start Sunday against the Reds while he tends to a back issue, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

After turning in a seven-inning start against the Royals on Tuesday, Feltner said that he felt his back tighten up in the weight room two days later. The Rockies don't anticipate Feltner missing extensive time, as he could be ready to start as soon as Monday's series opener versus Atlanta in Colorado. Bradley Blalock was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque and will start Sunday.

Double-A New Hampshire placed Santos on the 60-day injured list March 19.

It's unclear what Santos' injury is. The 22-year-old righty moved from a starting role in 2023 to a relief role in 2024 due to his shaky control and durability issues. He logged a 6.00 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 31:20 K:BB in 27 innings last year at Double-A.

Jobe is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Astros, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Jobe last took the mound April 18 versus Kansas City, so it'll end up being 12 days between starts for the right-hander. There's been no indication he's dealing with an injury, so the Tigers may simply be incorporating some in-season workload management with the 22-year-old rookie. Jobe has pitched well through four starts this year with a 2.70 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 14:10 K:BB across 20 innings.

McCullers (forearm) allowed three hits and one walk while striking out seven across five scoreless innings in Saturday's rehab outing with Double-A Corpus Christi.

McCullers had a two-week gap between rehab outings after dealing with an illness. He managed to keep ramping up, however, as he threw 71 pitches and delivered his longest start of the season. There has been no official word from the club, but McCullers could slot into the Houston rotation next weekend against the White Sox.

Nikhazy (0-1) took the loss in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Red Sox, coughing up six runs on five hits and six walks over three innings. He struck out three.

Making his MLB debut, Nikhazy managed to toss only 50 of his 90 pitches for strikes before getting a merciful hook. The 25-year-old southpaw was making a spot start due to the twin bill, and while he's had some early success at Triple-A Columbus (3.44 ERA, 22:7 K:BB in 18.1 innings) this year, Saturday's performance won't encourage Cleveland to rush him back to the majors the next time the team needs rotation depth.
